OT/ Suzanne Collins lives in the Sandy Hook section of Newtown - Hunger Games author. I knew Sandy Hook rang a bell.
I have no idea what this man's mental health problems were. I can only guess.
I do know that Major Depression frequently has comorbid conditions. Over 50% of those with Major Depression will have another mental health disorder.
Can the media interview and air a minor without a parent/guardian's consent? TIA
I don't think so, though I admit the info may have slid right by me at some point.Has any information been released about the person taken from the school in handcuffs?
That surprises me - is there really no way in the USA for someone to be sectioned - ie taken into hospital for treatment to stop them harming themselves or others? I find that shocking if that's the case and agree that does need to change. It's only used in extreme circumstances here but does happen if necessary.

At this point I would think its safe to assume that a parent would know if their child is with them or not. Unfortunately, the only children left in the school are deceased. As a parent...I couldn't even imagine.
OMG! How is that SAD?
It was a school. 20 children who probably still had all of their BABY teeth are dead.
This is honestly not the place to argue this and I am sorry, but please, a least for today, can we not say that the only thing that went wrong today was that there weren't enough guns?
Its troubling to read how quickly autism/Asperger's is thrown into the mix. I've seen it here, has this been confirmed?
As the mom of a child with Asperger's Syndrome and what I know of other people with Asperger's, tying horrific crime to someone with Asperger's really is surprising to me.

Hitting the thanks was not nearly enough.
Why oh why oh why can people not read the FACTS AND THE STATISTICS. Less guns=less gun violence. Not an opinion, it is a FACT.

I don't know what it is you seem to want a debate about.
Here's what it boils down to---this guy was out of his mind and cold-bloodedly shot lots of small children and some adults. Does it really matter what the names of his "disorder" is? I couldn't care less what was wrong with him. I'm sure the parents and loved ones of all the dead don't care either.
