*Not to derail*

I started a thread in the jury room for those who need to grieve off the public board:

CNN reporting on father of AL.
They are making efforts to get in touch with father and have been unsuccessful.
Press conference running about an hour late.

My heart aches for him as well. I can only imagine the pain and (probably) guilt he must feel. Another victim, in a different way, IMO.

You're right, and I hope to heck that it doesn't become equated with violence as a result of this. As someone here posted earlier, those on the autism spectrum are far, far more likely to be crime victims than perpetrators.

My son has a very mild form of Aspergers. He is 14 years old, wears a size 12 1/2 men's shoe and is 6 feet tall. He is nothing but a gentle giant!!! Always has been. Every teacher he's ever had has said he's the sweetest, kindest, and most empathetic boy they've ever taught. I agree wholeheartedly with your post!

This fills me with dread. I hope he is safe, and I hope he is with other people who love him and who can help him cope.

Sorry if someone else has already pointed this out:

I wonder if Adam killed his mother so she wouldn't have to live with the shame of what he did, considering all the guns were in her name?

I mean, can you imagine if she had not been killed? The hate that would be coming her way from that community, much like what the Columbine killers parents went through.

I posted a little while ago about some kind of professional who said about the same thing, although he was mistaken about the shooter's father who is alive, not murdered.

But it could have been rage too, or maybe she was an obstacle in his way to getting the guns.

If someone shoots 28 people, most of them children, I'm not that sure I consider it very likely that he's doing much of anything out of kindness, to be considerate of other people's feelings.

I lurked here yesterday, but could not bring myself to post.

My heart breaks for the children and the families and friends of all who were lost. And for the children who are safe with their parents, but who forever lost their innocence in such a terrible way yesterday.

I still cannot believe this. My thoughts and prayers are with all affected by this tragedy.

Waking up this morning hoping this was all a bad dream. Watching Cnn and waiting for the presser. Vicki Soto was the cousin of the friend of my granddaughter. Feeling like I felt on 911. Sad

Man on CNN saying no names will be released until everyone has been identified. Bodies are still in building. Trying to methodically figure out what happened to each individual child.

The parents should have been allowed to see their children, hold them, say good bye. What difference does it make what happened to each individual child? They were all shot by the one person who had the gun - AL. If I were one of those parents, I would not have been held back, I'd be in jail. My arms would have ached, my eyes would have desired to see my child. WTF

My opinion only

Can someone please update me:

The initial reports said that AL's father was found dead in NJ - Not true, correct?

The initial reports said that AL's mother was in the school, but now that she was at home? - Which is correct? If she was home, was she killed before she could leave for work?

Initial reports said that the shooter was among the dead - That is clearly not true if they have him in custody. Was there a second shooter found in the school dead?

Was the brother RL still in NJ when this all happened?

TIA.

The father is alive in New Jersey.

The mother was murdered in the home.

Varying reports on whether mother is, was, or had ever been, employed at Sandy Hook Elementary.

The shooter is dead from, according to reports, a self-inflicted gunshot wound at the school.

There almost certainly was no second shooter.

The brother was, I think, in New Jersey at work at the time the shootings occurred.

The father is not dead.

The mother was found in the house.

The shooter is dead. His brother was taken in for questioning and was not involved. They initially thought he was the shooter because the shooter had his brothers ID on him.

AL's father is still alive.

AL's mother was shot at home, she was not at work yesterday.

The shooter is dead. It was his brother who was taken into custody and questioned, then released.

I think he is safe. It was posted he lives in Stamford and was told by Media about what had happened as he was pulling into his driveway. He is most likely in shock and is trying to digest all this ugliness.

There was lots of misinformation yesterday. Dad and brother Ryan live in NJ and are safe and apparently had nothing to do with crime. Mom killed at home and wasn't even on the payroll at the scho, so connection to school is a question. And do we know if there is a girlfriend and is she missing? Pressed coming up, I think.

AL's father lived in ct and is alive.
AL's mother wa killed in the home before the shooting at the school.
There was.only one shooter, AL.
RL is the brother. He lives in NJ and was at work, not involved. He was taken into custody for questioning but was cleared. He has not been in touch with his brother for two years.

Thank you all very much. The misreporting has to be some of the worst I have ever seen. Ugh!

I'm wondering how Adam had Ryan's ID if he had not seen or spoken to him in 2 years.
