I don't believe school ever said that he never went there.

I could swear they did...
Guess I read it wrong. RELATIVES did say it!

"Despite denials from relatives who said Adam Lanza never attended Sandy Hook Elementary School, Lanza apparently attended the school in fifth grade in fall 2002."

IMO Officials only admitted to 5th grade AFTER this.

"Janet Robinson, superintendent of Newtown Public Schools, said Adam Lanza attended Sandy Hook elementary, although she could not remember the year
"I know that he was a student at Sandy Hook at some point," she said."

He was there all 5 years it "appears" why didn't they just say it?

holy crap

Police said Riverview Gun Sales had no idea the AR-15 Marsh stole was missing. Management at the store didn't know about 11 guns that Marsh had allegedly stolen last year until they were notified by detectives.

Inventory control issues at Riverview Gun Sales have occurred before. In 2007, state police raided a Somers home and found a bunch of stolen guns from the store.

"It was found that the same Riverview gun store was missing upwards of 30 plus guns," said East Windsor police Detective Matthew Carl.

It seems awfully complicated to get a straight answer although I'm pretty certain that schools have records of every student that attended.

I know! I'm wondering if both could be true. He may have learned on someone else's gun earlier? Or maybe they just had a shotgun and the rest of the collecting didn't start until 2010?
Maybe the guns that early along were owned by the father and he took them with him when he left? Maybe NL took the boys back to NH and some of their relatives (some of whom were LE) taught the boys to shoot with their guns?

If NL had grown up with guns as indicated in some reports, once PL left if he took any guns he owned, she would have felt that as a lack without any 'end of the world' conspiracy stuff to justify buying a few guns.

Also would have records of anyone who was a volunter or an aide I would think. At first the story was that NL was a kindergarten teacher there. Where did that come from? I know that it turned out to be not true, but someone had to have thought she was to get that info out. :waitasec: very perplexing. jmo

I am sorry but that is patently ridiculous. You don't use a falcon to scare game out of the sky so you can "blast" it. The falcon IS the hunter. I wish people who have nothing to say would stop making things up.
Yes... a hawk or a falcon can be used, and it not just for "birds"...(doves, pigeons and pheasants are hunted.)
rabbits and ducks too....

"Today, falconry is practiced worldwide as a sport, with more than
3,800 licensed falconers in the United States "

"Falconry is not for everyone. It takes a special
commitment, dedication and patience, as well as
untold hours of training, hunting and caring for a
bird of prey. "

MOO but when the dust settles and lawsuits begin to loom on the horizon, it might be in Sandy Hook SD's best interest to "not remember" anything about AL's history. That would include his dates of attendance and possible interventions attempted due to his behavior?

As others have pointed out, I think we are only at the tip of the iceberg as to what the district knew about him. Do not misunderstand, I do not think the school is culpable in any way, nor could anyone have predicted that he would decompensate to the point he did, it's just that things have a way of morphing once attorneys get involved.

I could see a regular pistol and a shotgun... I can't wrap my mind around anyone owning the guns she had though.

Hrm. He says he wouldn't classify her as a survivalist and she didn't hunt.
(Perhaps he means recently.)

But, but, but she allegedly told someone that she hunted with a falcon.

(I briefly researched what is required to get a license to own a falcon. It is difficult. The petitioner is required to take an exam and complete an apprenticeship. He/she must apply and pay for a federal and a state license. Me thinks this story is bs.)

If you use a falcon, you don't need a rifle. Falcon will hunt and bring the prey to the owner. It's highly regulated.

Hmmm... he said Adam told him he was getting ready to go to college in Washington.

I'm just not sure these folks know as much about her/their life as they might think? I could be wrong. I'm not understaning why they thought those guns were just a hobby and for target practice?

I don't think we've heard anything about her owning a falcon recently.
Possibly a fond memory from her youth?
“She was a country girl” who loved to hunt with a falcon that would scare game she’d blast out of the sky, he said.

Amen to that. A shame she did not get him involved with this sport, rather than shooting guns. Aside from the focus and dedication involved in falconry, the connection and empathy with another living creature would have possibly done him a world of good. MOO.

But but but... I would think this was when she was YOUNG!
like in the 70's! does make me wonder.
Why would some random guy pull a FALCON out of his hat?

My dad had a red tail hawk. (course that was the 50's) :)

Police Presence at Gun Shop Where Lanza's Mother Bought Gun

NBC Connecticut.com

updated 2 hours 12 minutes ago

The day after a Connecticut gun shop owner said he sold one gun several years ago to Nancy Lanza, the mother of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooter, and is "appalled" that it might have been used in the shootings, there is a police presence at the gun shop.

Local businesses confirmed that police are at the shop, Riverview Gun Sales in East Windsor.

No additional information was immediately available.

Falcons. Wow. Just spinning off that, it's the image Yeats uses to signify loss of control
when he begins his poem "The Second Coming":
Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
