The Press has no way to prove when, how often or anything else about the relationship of Adam to his father and brother. At this point, it is in both of their best interests if the public perception is that they had absolutely no involvement with Adam for years.

There is no reason to blame Adam's mother at this point, either. I've seen a press report that she took her son to see a psychiatrist. I can't imagine what else she should be expected to do. It would be the psychiatrist's duty, not her's, to report Adam if there was a belief he would harm himself or others.

We don't know if the mother kept the guns locked in a gun safe and Adam seized them AFTER he killed her. There is still too much we don't know so let's take care as to who we blame.

JMO

He had access to at least one of the guns before he killed her..........She was shot 4 times by him with a gun.Had they been locked he would not have been able to shoot her.

Yes, of course she did. However, my post was specifically in response to a post #128, this thread by HastingsChi which urged us to listen to a raw audio:

"If you listen to the raw audio posted last Saturday by the Chicago Sun Times you will hear that Marsha Lanza's insinuation that Nancy was a survivalist was more of a response to the reporter's question about that potential and answered without a lot of confidence but not disputing that she may have been. The raw audio from the Sun Times which is the basis for the article paints quite a strong, positive impression of Nancy Lanza and is a must-listen (unfortunately the Sun Times pay wall doesn't allow for me to share it)" - HastingsChi

I believe the article and raw audio I linked to, is the one that HastingsChi urged us to listen to, even though it was behind a pay wall and would be impossible to share the link.

Maybe there is another Chicago SunTimes raw audio?

Thanks nora... I listened to it but didn't even hear some things that were quoted in the article accompanying it :waitasec: Maybe it was just me though?

I want to know if it was locked too ... did he wait until she got home from her vacay because she carried the key to the gun cabinet on her house-key set, or did he wait until she got home because killing her was an important part of his plan?

Not sure if this one was posted here already or not ... it's from yesterday's headline i noticed... Just in case it wasn't:

Exclusive: Adam Lanza Class Photo From Sandy Hook Elementary

Airdate: 12/20/2012

It's the first photo of madman Adam Lanza when he was an innocent, 8-year-old student at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

He stands in front of his teacher, Mrs. Macinnes with 17 other students in this second grade class picture taken in 2000.

Thank you! This closes the 'gap' in terms of when he went to school there since 2nd grade was not included in the reports.

It's too bad he developed into what he became. I cannot be angry with a child or place blame of evil on one. Those feelings of anger become neutralized but only for a moment when I look at his 2nd grade photo.

Years ago, a friend asked me to store a couple of family firearms. Her father's mental condition was deteriorating, and she figured that keeping the guns out of his reach was a good idea. I returned them after her father had died.

If NL had done the same, 28 people might still be alive.

I did not know this until I saw this article today:

"Columbine High School Had Armed Guards During Massacre In 1999"

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/blackberry/p.html?id=2347096

"Deputy Neil Gardner was a 15-year veteran of the Jefferson County, Colo., Sheriff’s Office assigned as the uniformed officer at Columbine. According to an account compiled by the police department, Gardner fired on Harris but was unsuccessful in stopping him."

"The second officer was Deputy Paul Smoker, a motorcycle patrolman who was near the school writing a speeding ticket. When he heard a dispatch of a woman injured at the high school, he responded. He, too, fired at Harris but didn't stop him."

That little detail of the Columbine shootings is often overlooked. The shooters knew the resource officer would be there and had enough firepower to drive him away.

Is there not a report somewhere of A yelling at people to "open the door" while on his rampage? I'm sure I read he was yelling at some point. The first reports I read stated he did not say a word when he got inside the school and started shooting.
