Fears are growing for a Lincoln University student who has not been seen since leaving a nightclub.

Connor Calleja was spotted on CCTV walking along University Bridge, Lincoln, in the early hours of Sunday morning, 11 January.

His stepfather, John Lewis, said the 20-year-old was denied entry to the Home nightclub on Park Street earlier in the evening, adding that the family were extremely worried for his wellbeing.

In an emotional video appeal on Facebook, Mr Lewis said the family "just don't know what to do".

Lincolnshire Police have updated their appeal to add "Update 13:38 [11 Jan 2026]: Further CCTV footage has been located confirming the last known sighting of Connor at 2:09 AM on Sunday, 11 January. He was seen outside Court 1, an unused building on the University of Lincoln campus".

This location is adjacent to a rather wide canal, the Fossdyke Navigation, which is being searched by an underwater dive team.

There is sad news coming through about Connor. Lincolnshire Police have issued the following statement:

Officers have sadly discovered the body of a man whilst conducting a search in the Foss bank body of water near The Brayford Pool in Lincoln for missing person Connor.

While formal identification has yet to take place, we believe this to be the body of 20-year-old Connor who was last seen in Lincoln on Sunday 11 January 2026.

His family have been made aware and are being supported by specially trained officers. There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances.

'bodies of water' and young intoxicated men leaving licensed premises at night are a lethal duo.

Sincere condolences to his parents, relatives, and friends.

This happens over and over again, so many of these cases. I wish they could be prevented. Very tragic.
