GUILTY Conviction FL - Timothy Lloyd Smith, 59, violently murdered in his Citrus Park home, March 25 2023 *reward*

Just sickening how violent he was to a partner he allegedly loved.

Snip
MCSO said previously that Swilley's daughter was considered a person of interest in the case. Her status is unclear. After providing a preliminary statement after Smith's death, she declined to speak further with detectives, MCSO said in an August Facebook post.

I'm so glad to see Tim get justice, or at least the beginning of it. I didn't see a motive mentioned in the article I read. Surely it wasn't merely for $330 in life insurance?

Fla. Man Accused of Strangling His Husband for Insurance Money: He 'Was Void of Any Sadness,' Say Police

When discovered, Smith was undressed from the waist down and had a dark ligature mark around his neck and blunt force trauma to his face and genitals, the affidavit states, and he had suffered a fracture to his cervical spine during the attack. Police also say that a toxicology report revealed that he was dosed with 30 times the recommended amount of diphenhydramine, the active ingredient in Benadryl.

"If only..."
How many times do we and others say, or think, or hear that?
Smith was in the process of separating from his partner.
It's good to hear there is a suspect -- he is in lots of trouble, but it won't bring Smith back.
Oh, how sad, how sad.

They held closing statements earlier today and jury deliberations have begun.

I found it telling that his own daughter testified against him. Unfortunately the defense tried to put the killer's daughter out there as a possible suspect. I'm so sad for what this young woman has had to go through. She lost her step-father, who she clearly loved, and now she's lost her father.

The defendant showed absolutely no emotion when the guilty verdict was read. He also didn't show any emotion when his daughter was testifying. He's a monster.

I found it surprising that during the short break between the verdict being read and the victim statements, the defendant was changed from a business suit to orange and white prison attire! Has anyone seen that before?

As an aside, I noticed that they didn't mute the jury's names when mentioned in court. I am so disappointed with this.
We often see jurists referred to and "jurist #1", etc. Not in this case.
