(Reuters) - The European Parliament will limit access to visitors for three weeks, its president said on Monday, as part of precautionary measures to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

Parliamentary activity will continue, but seminars, events and other activities involving external visitors will be frozen, David Sassoli told a news conference.

He said measures adopted by the EU Parliament were tougher than other EU institutions because the EU assembly receives some 700,000 visitors a year, far more than other EU bodies.

A huge part of the job is to communicate accurate information clearly and to educate the public.

No agency on this issue should be too busy working to address that very important communication task.

At a meeting today at work to discuss how to deal with absenteeism due to the coronavirus, there was discussion about asking people to take FMLA if they tested positive or if there spouse or other dependent tested positive and they needed to care for them. I did a search on the internet to find out what guidance human relations firms are giving, and found some information at the link below. This will probably change as the federal government weighs in on FMLA and the coronavirus, as it is complicated due to involuntary quarantine issues, voluntary self-isolating, and other factors. What concerns me, is that in some cases people are using FMLA for other health-related situations for themselves and their families. I think there needs to be more options and compassion for the workforce.

At first, a “lockdown” of UK cities to combat coronavirus would be voluntary, with residents simply asked to stay at home and avoid public spaces.

Earlier today, the CDC removed info on its website showing how many people have been tested. No information why (that I know of).

It would be great if states report their numbers. Information should be shared and transparent, imo.

My California son (hey don't blame him, that's where the jobs are) visited me over the weekend, so good to see him. He and his friends think that Covid is already present where they live and work (lives nearly in Orange County, works in Orange County). Nothing they can do, yeah Mom I've prepared a little, I carry sanitizer everywhere, I try to wash my hands every chance I get...he's a conscientious young man...but does that help any when hey this:

(Reuters) - Germany and France are monitoring the spread of the coronavirus very closely, Finance Minister Olaf Scholz said on Monday after talks with his French counterpart Bruno Le Maire, adding that Berlin and Paris were ready to take decisive action if needed.

"We discussed the full range of our European issues and of course the effects of the coronavirus on our countries," Scholz said after the talks in Berlin. "We are monitoring the situation very closely and will take decisive action if necessary."

The G7 finance ministers are expected to hold a conference call on Tuesday to discuss measures to deal with the economic impact of the coronavirus outbreak, people familiar with the arrangements told Reuters earlier on Monday.

WOW! I have been in Cuba for 1 week on vacation and 6 threads have opened and closed. Not sure I will be able to go back and read them all!

My experience while on vacation in Cuba last week. (We did hear of 1 confirmed case of an Italian tourist in Dominican Republic)
As far as we know, from our resort personnel, no cases of COVID-19 in Cuba.
The only time we saw people wearing face masks was at the airport last night when we were departing. The Cuban Gov't Immigration officials at Varadero airport wore green fabric face masks
Lots of tourists at the resorts in Varadero and 1 day we hired a private driver and drove into Havana for the day, lots of tourists there as well.
From previous vacations in Cuba I always bring hand sanitizer, sanitizing wipes and toilet wipes.
I am also one of those people who always uses sanitized wipes on the tray table and arm rests on the plane.
We washed our hands often or used Purell.
