My guess is they plan to freeze it.

I’ve been wishing this week that I had a bigger freezer myself.
I went Friday and stocked up on food, medicine, disinfectants, TP and meds for hubby and I to last through 30 days on top of our weekly groceries. We do keto and use a lot of meat and cheese. I filled 3 freezers and the frig. I made keto bread dough for about 10 loaves and froze the dough so I can make bread, cinnamon rolls, doughnuts and pizza crust.

In what may be the first case of coronavirus in South Florida, a Miami woman says she was told by doctors at @JacksonHealth that she “likely” has COVID-19, but state and federal officials wouldn’t conduct the necessary tests to confirm it. @CBSMiami

As of 4pm today, we are aware of 46 public health labs that are live with testing and 12 with verification in progress. So things are looking much better. With more test kits coming out from CDC each day, it’s clear we're moving forward. @scottjbecker

Awww good mommy, nothing like that mother-son bond I tell ya! MOO
That's the truth! I just love spending time with him. He's such a fun, nice kid and now that he's older I love seeing the friendship he and his sister have with each other (she's 18). I don't understand what they are talking about half the time, but when they are laughing together it makes my heart smile. They think I'm a little nuts with the coronavirus stuff, but they will thank me when he has steak and she has Girl Scout cookies! :)

More people in China have recovered from coronavirus than are still infected | Daily Mail Online

More people in China have recovered from coronavirus than are currently ill for the first time since the outbreak began in December

As of Monday, about 44,500 people have recovered and about 35,000 are ill

One of 16 temporary hospitals that opened in Wuhan to treat new infections closed after releasing its last 34 patients

Just 196 new cases were reported in the Hubei province, where Wuhan is located on Sunday, the first time that fewer 200 in a day were reported since January

San Antonio is suing the federal government over coronavirus quarantine protocol

From CNN's Pierre Meilhan

The city of San Antonio filed a lawsuit Monday against the federal government, including several agencies such as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Justice Department and the Department of Health and Human Services, to prevent further releases of individuals who have been quarantined at Lackland Air Force Base without the city’s input and demands.

The move follows the CDC’s release of a woman from quarantine at Lackland AFB, who later tested positive for the coronavirus.

The litigation filed in US District Court aims to obtain a temporary restraining order over the government’s actions to release individuals from quarantine and the government’s “failure to consult with and incorporate local government in the planning and implementation process, and risks imposing a serious burden on the City's emergency services.”
As part of its efforts to protect its community from the outbreak, the city is also demanding that patients undergo three tests for coronavirus, instead of the current two, as part of the protocol to end their quarantine.

The lawsuit is also seeking a protocol that would be agreed between the city, the state of Texas and the CDC prior to releasing patients who are under quarantine.

City officials are also asking the court to maintain the status quo of the surgeon general’s exercise of quarantine authority. The surgeon general, with the approval of the health and human services secretary, is legally authorized to make and enforce a quarantine if he deems it necessary to prevent the introduction, transmission or spread of communicable diseases from foreign countries into the United States.

ooooo that’s a great idea. Our drs office and our urgent care clinic both use touchscreens for self checkin o_O:confused:

I've been using cheap stylus (Amazon has a bunch for under $10) to poke all those ever present screens...been doing that before corona virus as who knows where people have put their fingers before they touched that screen...also useful for elevator buttons...it has a special spot in my purse so I don't go and touch that tip...

This is really good news. I keep trying to find good news and this article makes the good news list. It sure beats some of the larger statistics from them in their early weeks of their reporting.

I am not a disease/virus expert by any means whatsoever, but could kids be carriers - they might not even notice they are sick but are contagious to adults around them?

Kids are ALWAYS carriers! (said my husband who taught second grade) :D

Another thing I will be looking for this week are scientific reports from affected countries outside of China. It will be important to understand to what degree the clinical and epidemiological observations in China are generalizable to other countries. 1/

There is a lot of social and behavioral context to outbreaks that can influence how things unfold. Especially since the rest of the world had advanced warning in a way that Hubei/China did not. Local data in each jurisdiction will be helpful for tailoring response efforts. 2/2
