CDC releases more than 100 people from quarantine

127 people have completed their 14-day quarantine at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said today in a statement.

This group included 125 individuals from the Diamond Princess cruise ship as well as two additional individuals.

15 other people who were repatriated from the cruise ship remain “locally in medical care or quarantine because of their close contact with a confirmed case,” the statement said.

Several buses will transport those being released from Lackland Air Force Base directly to the airport, where people will take flights or rental cars to travel home, the city’s statement said.

We buy and use these two, but I can't recommend flushing them, even if that's what it says on the label. Our public sanitation agency has asked us not to flush, it messes up the system.

there is no room to move buildings full of people (no matter what buildings and what people ) into hospitals. There isn’t enough room in many hospitals for the people already there. They “board” them in Hallway beds in the ER. This is on an average per-corona day.

So I’d like to think somewhere there is a legitimate working plan for bringing the medical care INTO such buildings. Doubt it

Well the outbreak is more serious to other countries, but if you are living in the USA, the odds are that the everyday flu is a much more serious risk to your health. I am curious why the news media is covering this so often. Besides the fact that it gets ratings. There has to be other serious matters being ignored that could be reported on in replace of all this footage.

The USA population is 327 million. 100 people out of 327,000,000 does not appear to be news worthy.

The US has barely been tested for this virus. The number of positive cases is only as good as the number we test.

These threads move super fast and it’s hard to keep up but I think it could shed enormous light on the seriousness of this virus if you went back and perused some of the info that’s been disseminated here.

Florida Gov. just announced a 3rd case of the
virus has been confirmed, per Ch 9 News.
This may be the 'secret case' in a Sarasota Hospital that was known on Sunday.
So these cases that need to be confirmed by CDC are still taking several days to be reported.

OK so my Mom is a CFO of a small non profit 20 employees or so and she does the HR too, and she has been getting policy directives from different entities re sick leave , she is in Rogers Arkansas , I am in Dallas I asked my HR director if she had been seeing the same she said she has but she does not buy into all of that stuff , we wont be VPN -ing (not a word) like other companies we will remain open no matter what.... I gotta say not smart , this is the way of thinking here in D town , see what I'm up against dumb da dumb dumb!!!

My boss came in yesterday (despite a recent trip to Disney) and says it’s not a big deal and we aren’t even going to discuss it because it’s a nonissue. I’m in Houston. DH has to take a trip in two weeks, I’m not thrilled but apparently we will be business as usual. I’ve started wearing gloves handling the packages coming in and the samples until I get them in the 350F oven. Hopefully that kills the virus.

ETA: quick search shows viruses inactivate at 60C-65C so starting around 140F. Oven heating should work then. (I routinely heat my samples to those temps, difference is I’m wearing gloves for even the non-messy sample).

I wonder what the US prisons have for contingency plans, in case they run low on guards, etc.? Would they just open the gates?

Maybe the National Guard, but that opens all sorts of possible violations, i.e. martial law.

What I don't understand:
Fl. dept. of Health today says there are 8 more
'presumptive positive' tests in Fl. awaiting CDC
confirmation. Why is there such a bottleneck
in confirming these cases by CDC?

Shouldn't the news be covering how 244,000 civilian deaths have occurred since the so called War on Terror 18 years ago. That appears to be more deadly and concerning statistically wise. Especially concerning when nearly every dollar taxpayers pay in income taxes, 24¢ goes to the military – but only 4.8¢ goes to our troops in the form of pay, housing allowances and other benefits (excluding healthcare). Out of the 24¢ on the dollar that taxpayers contribute to military spending, 12¢ goes to military contractors.

WHO, Dr Tedros: 3.4% of reported covid patients die, by comparison seasonal flu kills far fewer than 1%.

According to my calculations, assuming that everyone in the USA is eventually infected and there is no vaccine, and based on China fatality rates and USA populations ...

16% of the population is over age 65 (using age 65 rather than age 70).

On Feb 11 in China 23% of reported patients over age 70 died.

What is 23% of 16% of the total population in the USA?

Total population is 327 million. What is 16% of 327 million?

16/100 = x/327
x = 52.
52 million people are over age 65.​

What is 23% of 52 million?

23/100 = x/52
x = 12
~12 million fatality rate from coronavirus in a short time period​

So How Many Millennials Are There in the US, Anyway? (Updated) - Marketing Charts

That obviously doesn't match the numbers in China. Is that because the infection rate is quite low? Is the reporting rate low? We need to know the percent of people over 70 who are actually infected.
