That really scared me. That’s a young, healthy guy. I’m neither, I guess. Even though I work out a lot and don’t each much junk. But if I got that I’m pretty sure I’d be dead. My lungs couldn’t take it.
I feel the same way too.
"If people don't trust that the government is telling them the truth about the risk to themselves and their families, people start to make decisions that are not rational...that puts our medical system at greater risk," says a global biology policy expert.
Public Trust In Health Authorities Is Key To Fighting Coronavirus — Is It At Risk?
Well, they have recently lost my vote....
I was subbing in a classroom of high school sophomores today (actually 3 separate classes) and there was all kinds of disgusting stuff going on. Let's just say besides the usual coughing and sneezing and nose blowing, some had their feet (and dirty shoe bottoms) up on the seat in front of them, others were hugging each other in greeting and sharing lots of stuff (pens, chrome books, coloring utensils..) One kid actually picked a scab off his leg, was bleeding and trying to stop it with a tissue.

These are really pleasant kids for the most part, but boy do they need some instructions in non-germ spreading. I did my best, believe me, to make a lesson out of all of it. And then I slathered myself, my phone and my laptop in hand sanitizer.
I am a teacher and I am sure it is going to be hitting school staff very soon. Also, in my school I have yet to see any measures from the school in warnings and safeguarding against this virus. I am 60, with allergies and mild COPD. This won’t be pleasant for me.

Potus spoke about numbers while at the CDC today. I understood him to say he likes the numbers where they are. Have none of his advisors or the doctors he is meeting with explained that the numbers are likely going to grow rapidly? Even the putus can not stop the numbers at this point.

AIPAC confirms that two conference attendees have now tested positive for coronavirus. I reported 2 days ago this was likely. There were 18,000 people there, including 2/3rds of Congress. On Tuesday, thousands of conference goers visited Hill offices.

Most are staff, that had already been on a previous ship, that has also tested positive.

Crikey. Out of less than 50. Bad statistics there.

Press conference...a few points:

All public health departments are able to test. About 2 million tests will be sent out through the weekend.

Two of the largest commercial labs will have tests available by Monday.

Any American who is symptomatic and believes is exposed will have access through doctor to test through state labs.

Businesses are being sensitive to lost wages. In talks with Congress about it being more widespread.

When can any American who wants it get a test: All state labs can perform tests...over a million with more to come...will meet the need of public. Prioritized areas with community transmission and wider later.

Should major events be canceled to keep older and compromised Americans? Elderly with Serious underlying health conditions are the most vulnerable to coronavirus. Difference between controlled high blood pressure and COPD. Should think carefully about travel.

I’m not a conspiracy theorist AT ALL, so why am I having thoughts that not testing people is the best way to keep the numbers down in the U.S.? No information is misinformation. Who benefits if ”information” looks good? Who will be upset if “information” looks bad? Rhetorical question but you get my drift.
I agree with you 100%! What better way to say our numbers are low when we aren’t even testing. Just color me stupid!

SXSW cancels its 400K-person conference due to coronavirus – TechCrunch

SXSW has officially announced it will cancel its tech and music conference slated for March 13th to 22nd in Austin, TX due to concerns around coronavirus, though it’s exploring rescheduling. “Based on the recommendation of our public health officer and our director of public health . . . I’ve gone ahead and declared a local disaster in the city and associated with that, have issued an order that effectively cancels SXSW” said Austin Mayor Steve Adler at a press conference today.

This toilet paper mania.....
Seems people are more concerned with wiped butts than food.

But if you don't have food, you won't need to wipe your butt, right?
I've come to really like you people :D

I’ve gotta be honest, I can only watch a couple of minutes of them.

It’s (for me) somewhere between a cartoon, a trainwreck, and an irresponsible misinformed video.

That said, I feel terrible for them being in the situation they have found themselves in. Best wishes that they are amongst the lucky few who will avoid being infected.

MOO.

Hire a company to deep/disinfect clean?
Omaha firefighters just explained their protocol for transporting patients. The state's first case is today at one Omaha hospital and is being transported to Omaha's UNMC. They remove everything non-essential from the rescue squad. They then line it with plastic. Afterwards, they leave all doors and windows open for at least 20 minutes because the virus can not survive in well-ventilated areas. The patient is 36 yo female who contracted the virus in the UK. She had mild symptoms for several days and then yesterday took a dramatic turn for the worst.

This is the problem with this virus. Many people are not getting very sick at first and the don't realize they are infecting those around them. Fortunately, the Omaha hospital where this women went to the ER immediately assumed it was coronavirus and implemented the highest level of infection protocol.

https://nypost.com/2020/03/06/ny-ag...bakker-to-quit-advertising-coronavirus-cures/

As New York continues to see a jump in positive coronavirus cases, state Attorney General Letitia James has ordered televangelist Jim Bakker to quit misleading New Yorkers by falsely advertising the product “Silver Solution” as reliable treatment.

Bakker interviewed Sherrill Sellman—a naturopathic doctor—on a Feb. 12 episode of his show where she claimed “Silver Solution” can cure strains of COVID-19.

The televangelist also sells the product on his website, jimbakkershow.com.

However, the World Health Organization has said there is no known FDA approved medicine or vaccine able to prevent or treat COVID-19.

True...but if you can't find toilet paper then you get anxiety and then anxiety gives you the nervous poops and then you need toilet paper! It's the coronavirus version of "If You Give A Mouse A Cookie" LOL

I don't like them. Sorry, as I know they are trying to be cute, but I can't watch but a minute before bailing out. I hope they remain healthy, of course.
