I guessed as much. Thoughts and prayers to him.

I wonder if the Vatican would allow for video conferencing instead of the cardinals meeting, if it comes to that.

I think I may have jumped the gun, its not really from a reliable source that I can see. I saw it on Ian McKay's twitter feed, he is usually reliable but not seeing it anywhere else. I am sorry.

It starts off with mild symptoms, like a cold. Most people in US don't stay home because of a cold.
They didn't before COVID outbreak anyway. Things have changed.

Italy 2019 - 0 Cases of Covid-19
Italy 2020 - 5883 Cases of Covid - 19

Italy has 5883 more cases of Covid-19 in the 67 days of 2020 vs the entire 365 days of 2020.

You can’t state what you have just said as proof of anything, there were no known cases of this virus anywhere in 2019.

I thought it included fever. I started to get a cold on Wed.--stuffed sinuses, runny nose, and then traveled down to bronchial--hoarseness, coughing, etc.--but no fever. I have been staying at home for the most part, and washing hands, using hand sanitizer. But I keep reading that COVID19 includes fever from the beginning. I am in a state that has one confirmed case as of today, not in my city--not that it means anything because I'm sure it's here, just hasn't been tested yet.
I don't know if everybody gets fever. From what I can tell some people might have the virus but no symptoms. There is one guy I posted about that tested positive for a month with no symptoms so they let him to go home and self-quarantine there.

Judging by the number of people coughing when I go out in public, things haven't changed.

There's nothing to be done about symptoms other than treatments we already know about. The only reason to test is for statistics.
Seriously?

I actually started crying! I am so worried about him getting this. He’s the Pope I’ve been waiting for my whole life.

Here's a case report of the first virus patient, a 35 year old man, in the US on January 19. The symptoms are described.

I've read that some people develop high fever, and that usually comes with shortness of breath. That's the time to report to hospital.

Oh my....more waiting in line....for another cruise.

Passengers have reportedly been kept waiting for hours to board the Royal Princess cruise in Los Angeles. This report says decision soon to come about its "seaworthiness."

This has to be a joke. How can there be so many people willing to take that chance!

GEORGIA-

ATLANTA — Two more people have tested presumptive positive for coronavirus in Georgia.

The Georgia Department of Public Health announced Saturday night that one person in Gwinnett County and another in Fulton County tested presumptive positive. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is working to confirm those test results.

The latest presumptive positive patient, the person in Fulton County, is hospitalized and the source of the patient’s exposure is unclear. The DPH announced the Gwinnett County patient earlier Saturday and said that person recently returned from Italy and is isolated at home.

2 more people being tested for coronavirus in Georgia; 5 cases confirmed

I just posted to someone else, these loved ones we are concerned with are MUCH better served if this virus is not blown out of proportion to the point where people are unnecessarily consuming resources of all types - medical and consumer. If my asthmatic child should get this virus, I don't want his ER bed taking up by some otherwise healthy person who wonders whether their runny nose and cough is Corona.
Proper testing and diagnosis should lead to the proper level of treatment for each individual. Just because someone panics and goes for testing doesn't mean they automatically end up taking a bed in a hospital. Many are asked to simply quarantine at home and not take up a bed anywhere.

I mean this truly - I hope neither you nor your child get this illness. And if so, I also hope what you need will be there for you.

I have ignored a few posters and highly recommend it if someone repeatedly tries to cause trouble. Has really helped to keep my blood pressure down! We have enough to worry about with out having to read offensive posts.

That's true and we all can agree on that. We stand on common ground with the fact that the virus is new.

So much to talk about with the virus! So many unknowns to watch and speculate about together. Nobody is an expert (yet), but we're all learning so much.
