Regal Princess is approaching Port Everglades and should be alongside by 10:00PM EDT. I have no idea how they will go about disembarkation since customs officials don't work this late at night. I'm guessing that passengers will likely spend the night onboard unless special arrangements have been made to get customs agents at the cruise terminal to process disembarking passengers. I probably won't be up past 10:00 and will have to catch up on the process in the morning.

From the looks of that latest US tracking map, we will have a representative from each of the big hotspots, California, NY and Texas at my mom’s 80th BD party here in Michigan on this coming Saturday. I am beyond stressed. And NOBODY bit me seems to care. I was told I am overreacting basically and nobody is forced to come. There are 15 people over 72 that are coming. This is insane. I don’t even know what to do.

Just got an email from the Columbia Daily Spectator, the campus newspaper

"Columbia and Barnard will be suspending their classes this Monday and Tuesday before moving all of their course instruction online for the rest of the week, according to an announcement sent by University President Lee Bollinger on Sunday evening.....a member of the Columbia community is in self-quarantine on campus as a result of his exposure to COVID-19, though he has not been diagnosed with the virus at this point."

Stay 6 feet from everyone to be on the safe side. Don't touch anyone. Don't touch any surfaces.

So if a gathering is large enough that staying 6 feet apart in the location is impossible...as in an auditorium, church, classroom, concert venue, crowded store, movie theatre, political rally, etc...well, that’s about what I figured. It doesn’t leave many places to go.

Five people gathering together could be “large” if one of them has COVID-19.

Colorado went from two to eight, all travel related and so far no community spread, but...

So going back to Santa Clara county, was that 5 new with no known source transmission?? Going back to that.

The 5 new today and the 8 new yesterday all have no information provided, just says "under investigation".

What worries me is the second case just reported in Washoe County, NV (where Reno is). It says it's a young man who traveled to Santa Clara!

I know they won't tell us, but I really want to know what kind of crowded events he was in while in Santa Clara County or whether he had close contact with someone already diagnosed. I want to distinguish those cases from ones where the person caught it from a random surface like an ATM machine or just breathing the air in a supermarket etc.

I must say, Universities and Colleges have really stepped up to the plate and taken this seriously. I wish local school systems had the same approach.

People must not stay in enclosed area, in any size group. Its the only way to stop transmission. If we could mandate quarantine, close schools, not essential businesses for even two weeks, we might contain this outbreak. Continued freedom of movement, even within the US will rapidly spread the virus. The dang thing is just so very contagious and can live on matter for days, most viruses are inactive within minutes outside the human body. This is a SUPER BUG!

:drama: I’m changing my store trip to tomorrow morning first thing when they open. I know myself well enough to say I am NOT up to the trip at the moment. Again, kind of a dizzy feeling. Must be my head spinning literally.

Are any of guys here like holy moly this is really happening? I am. Just sayin.

Doesn’t mean you’re panicking just because you’re “absorbing the situation” around you. I’m like wow, this is freaking unreal...

So, making an early note.

What are the positives here...

I can’t think of any atm but please, let’s start thinking about that and contributing ideas. The thought of watching the numbers is making me sick, there has to be something to counter this for everyone’s sake.

I fluctuate between being in denial and wishing to wake up in the morning to find it's just been a dream (nightmare)....to trying to be rational and decide day to day what's best for me, DH, my grown kids and 86 year old mom. I want to freak them out and make them pay attention, and I do not want to freak them out so I try to be subtle and soft spoken about it.

It surely does feel surreal, perhaps more than anything else ever.

Positives- focusing on something that's bigger than myself, than all of us, bringing people together. Especially meeting all of you on here and feeling a (virtual) bond between myself and the same profiles names I see every day. I look forward to and take comfort in conversing with you all .. xo

China reported 22 new deaths, the lowest new cases on record

There were 40 new cases nationwide, the National Health Commission said, with most in Hubei, the central province at the epicentre of the outbreak.

The 22 new deaths – which were all in Hubei except one – bring the country’s toll to 3,119.

More than 80,700 people have been infected in total in mainland China.

A senior government official hinted last week that China could soon lift the lockdown on the province imposed in late January, which has effectively restricted the movement of some 56 million people in Hubei.

However, there have now been 67 cases of imported infections brought into the country, the health commission said, with four new cases confirmed Monday.

The rise in imported cases is raising fears that the country’s progress in bringing infections down could be undone, and several local authorities are imposing quarantines on those arriving from hard-hit areas.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (WDRB) — Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear has confirmed three new cases of the novel coronavirus in the commonwealth, including one in Jefferson County.

Beshear made the announcement during a Facebook Live on Sunday afternoon. The other new confirmed cases of the virus are in Fayette and Harrison counties, Beshear said.

All three new patients are in isolation, according to Beshear. No further information was provided about the cases at this time, "because this is that new," Beshear said

Stock Markets in China, Australia and Japan

The Hang Seng index has open down nearly 4%, in line with the falls we’ve already seen in Australia and Japan this morning.

For the record the ASX200 in Sydney is off an eyewatering 6.2% now and Tokyo has lost 5%.

Snowbirds. Will start heading North this month. They all congregate at Good Sam parks, meet up with friends, have "hot dish" suppers, and the average age of these folks, is about 70.
