Egypt reported 45 new #covid19 cases, bringing the total to 48. But those 45 cases are all on a cruise ship (yes, another one!) on the Nile. Rest were imported cases, so for the moment “local transmission” is only happening on the Nile. (As far as we know. This will change...)

Yeah, how do you stay home from church when you ARE the priest or other clergy member? That's a serious problem in our family. In many faiths it has to be life or death to cancel services, flood, fire or frozen roads. If the government won't make the call that services need to be shut down then the clergy won't. Their own superiors won't let them.

My priest is severely immune compromised and almost died from c-diff last year. His bishop has them under orders to keep all the services and to continue to visit the sick. They are just going to risk their lives. My bil is a priest and his wife almost died last winter from the flu. This worries me greatly.

I talked to my priest last night and he said that if it comes here he'll just be one of the first to go. He did mention they were going to be cleaning more and putting in hand sanitizer. I told him, "If you can find it". He just said, "Oh, it won't be a problem." He clearly hasn't looked yet and has no idea you can't just go buy it anywhere.

My teen works at a local grocery store. They got hand sanitizer in this evening. Their entire stock was gone in about 35 minutes.

Alright, so has everybody talked to their elderly relatives and advised them seriously that this is no joke?

I’m trying to think of positive to do actions.
I'm as prepared food wise and sanitation wise as I can be. I'm stocked up on OTC meds. I also bought 2 big bottles of Windex. We live in the center of the woods with large windows in every room. I'm gonna wash all the windows and curtains. I'm gonna pack away the curtains and watch the blades of grass turn green and my perennials popping through the dirt. With daylight savings we'll have daylight when my husband gets home and we can walk the trails and picnic in the woods. I've come to realize I can't stop this virus by worrying. I will do what's necessary to protect my family and myself but try to focus on new life around me. If my days are numbered I'm gonna make the best of them.

Some people won't stay in self-quarantine when they are told to. A woman is a patient, and her father went to father-daughter dance with his other daughter, despite being asked to self-quarantine.

"St. Louis County Executive Sam Page said Sunday that the patient’s family had been told on Thursday to self quarantine at their home in Ladue. Page said the patient's father had not followed health department instructions. Page spoke at a news conference Sunday evening."

Stay 6 feet from everyone to be on the safe side. Don't touch anyone. Don't touch any surfaces.

Just another reason I'm glad I work from home. Married to a teacher who brings every bug home though

Yeah I knew this was not possible from day 1 mooooooooo. Too many idiots.

I’m telling ya idiots are a huge concern.

Now comes the Towering Inferno scenes I mentioned when the guy crashes the rescue helicopter or whatever it was, jumps on the rescue apparatus

Ah, no, Dr. Carson who is not a politician, was called upon to help with the housing and urban development HUD, as well as the homeless. I, and others consider him to be a kind, intelligent, highly educated man who just wants to help make a difference.
He's no politician.
If I had the ability to clone him, a million times, I would. Just my humble opinion.
He probably is a nice man. My aunt met him and his wife when Carson was involved politically as a presidential candidate. She liked him. Had a photo taken with him in fact.

He did a poor job addressing the seriousness of the virus when asked specific questions about it however. IMO

Much of my family STILL thinks its overrated, some outright fake news...still traveling, still going as if nothing is happening. Meanwhile, my friend's 80+ year old sister lives in a town on the Mexican border....she has pneumonia...but they didn't test and they 'don't think she has it'...gave her antibiotics and sent her home. (said small town does not have a real hospital, its more like an urgent care center on sterioids. Nearest real hospital is two hour drive away).
Seems to me anybody with pneumonia SHOULD be tested. Can't believe we are still rationing tests...grrrr.

Stay with your partner or go to your 86/88 year old parents with multiple health issues?
Hard decisions for some of us. :(

From the looks of that latest US tracking map, we will have a representative from each of the big hotspots, California, NY and Texas at my mom’s 80th BD party here in Michigan on this coming Saturday. I am beyond stressed. And NOBODY bit me seems to care. I was told I am overreacting basically and nobody is forced to come. There are 15 people over 72 that are coming. This is insane. I don’t even know what to do.

First. Stay calm. Bc you ARE calm right now and thinking rationally. So congratulations.
Two. Stock bottles of sanitizers and keep them all over the house.
Three. Keep masks out for those who want them. I’d be wearing one at all times. If they want to make fun of your precautions, let them. You are doing your part.
There are more CDC guidelines out there.
And good luck! Happy Birthday!!!

Trying to catch up. Can someone/anyone tell us why this outbreak is not officially called a pandemic?

Just been following a discussion on a Disney page about opting out of mousekeeping whilst on holiday at DW. Not sure which is better- having a dirty room that hasn’t been touched with cleaning products for two weeks, or having an unknown coming in everyday touching and cleaning all the surfaces.

Raises hand to definitely opt out of mousekeeping mooo

I have an issue. I have some “workers” that need to come to the house. This causes me some anxiety because there’s no way to tell how seriously they may be taking the situation, therefore you really don’t know if they’re practicing proper hygiene, etc., most importantly washing their hands and practicing proper respiratory etiquette.

This may sound silly to some, and I really don’t care. There is universal discussion about containment and closing borders, etc, but what about our own homes?

:drama: I’m changing my store trip to tomorrow morning first thing when they open. I know myself well enough to say I am NOT up to the trip at the moment. Again, kind of a dizzy feeling. Must be my head spinning literally.

Are any of guys here like holy moly this is really happening? I am. Just sayin.

Doesn’t mean you’re panicking just because you’re “absorbing the situation” around you. I’m like wow, this is freaking unreal...

So, making an early note.

What are the positives here...

Um, I can’t quote think of any atm :D but please, let’s start thinking about that and contributing ideas. The thought of watching the numbers is making me sick, there has to be something to counter this for everyone’s sake.
OOO-SAW!!! @margarita25
OOO-SAW!!!!
We are on the same page!
Freaking out, but gotta maintain my "cool".
I can "see" what the future #'s look like- it's not good!
I also am doing the best I can to trust my judgment and surf the troubled waters!
IMO you've got this!
Namaste!
MOO
