Does anyone know how our member in Italy is doing? Haven’t seen her/him post for a couple of days.

She posted last night on the previous thread. They are OK, and hanging in there in Trieste. :)

If I didn't want to wait in their lobby area, I would ask them to call me from my car (if that is an option for you.)

Oh, that is such a good idea.

Right. There are certain things we still have to do even though it may put us at a little more risk because needing a Dentist to help fix a tooth which is causing pain is not really an elective thing.

Something like a cosmetic procedure, we could think about more before making a decision but when tooth is hurting and needs repair work, that is something that I would keep on my list to go ahead and get it addressed. The tooth usually only starts to hurt worse when not addressed.

I thank you for this. It seems to be where I am at. It sure isn't getting any better and I should have handled it much sooner but well I'm just as dumb in some of my denial as those who claim 'it isnt that bad' (what I've been saying about my tooth).

Everyone I know will be at all MM games! They are basketball fanatics and would rather die than miss a game.
The Ivy League did cancel the rest of their basketball tournament season, however. Maybe partially because the Ivy League Schools are closing down themselves. No Ivy Madness this spring for men's or women's teams.

We need a roll call every now and then. Glad people here are on top of it when someone in in a serious situation, or hasn't been heard from in a certain amount of time.

Italy....where I have many friends and a cousin.
My cousin messaged me saying that this morning, everyone is on lockdown....to the point that all roads are blocked off and police are everywhere to send them back home. And everyone has to put: at home.

How do people survive that way? Especially in a place like Italy where people shop everyday for their meals that day. Fish market. Produce market. Bakery. How is anyone going to have enough food and supplies?

CT Just announced 2nd COVID19 case. Patient is in Bridgeport Hospital and no info about the patient is available.

Second Connecticut Resident Tested Positive for Coronavirus

EDITED to add after CT Press Conference: Patient is Female hospital worker from Bridgeport Hospital who lives in Bethlehem, CT and had recently travelled to NV. First CT case is male and had travelled to CA.

The State of CT currently has 2 test kits from the CDC and has requested additional 2 kits but does not know when the kits will arrive. Given the proximity of Southern CT to NYC (Southern CT is closer to NYC and Westchester County Hotspot than most of NYS in terms of geography) 2 test kits appears IMO to be inadequate.

Here is latest update from Hartford:

I believe so. Possibly some deaths attributed to “flu” deaths might have actually been Covid19, does anyone truly know? I think not.
United States know when we had first confirmed case. How many mild cases not requiring medical attention before the first case do they not know about? How many people are walking around right now shedding the virus? If China controlled their outbreak, hopefully they are instrumental in helping the rest of the world.
I want to know how many deaths have been tested. Not sure how to word this. I don't want to minimize the confirmed deaths but could it be higher if those not diagnosed died before being tested?

I can't keep track of all these States under "State of Emergency".

North Carolina declares state of emergency after number of cases grows

Gov. Roy Cooper declared a state of emergency for North Carolina in response to the coronavirus outbreak.

Coronavirus updates live: U.S., Europe brace for infection spread as Italy begins lockdown

Radio silence from Virginia Governor Northam. He did a big press conference with Amazon but failed to show up at the big press conference in Fairfax Virginia for the first case.

Today, I called the Va Board of Education to see if we have a plan for students traveling in school trips on and out of state. If they will assist with briniging them home or provide transportation to the area of the child? Will the state quarantine and house these children or return them to their homes to infect the community with massive transmission? I was told, we have posted information on safety and hand washing on our website. I was put on hold while the superintendent it's office trying to find out if they had a plan. The answer was no and the contact the governor's office that he may have a point but they don't.

Of course, I have left a message on Norhams voicemail WITH a return phone number and sent an email. Now to track when or if I receive a response.

Governor Northampton is a dang PHYSICIAN and a pediatric one to boot. His whole campaign was based on being a physician and knowing what's best for the Commonwealth.

We're in a bad situation in Virginia, I don't think our governor is going to help us. Maybe for those living in large cities that have tons of resources but half of our state are Farmers living on farms or in the mountains. They don't have those same resources and we were relying on the governor.

Yes, this is the governor who declared a national emergency over gun rights and activated the National Guard's. We made every major TV newspaper and media Outlet Nationwide with his gun program. ...... radio silence on the Coronavirus.

Schools and colleges/universities shutting down in NJ.

My (step) granddaughter attends Rowan University in Glassboro and she is now getting an extra week for spring break (2 weeks total). She did tell me that possibility exists that they will go totally online after that as well.

N.J. coronavirus: Latest on schools and colleges that are closing or changing schedules (Tuesday, March 10)

This is why I think we might be leaning towards lockdown as colleges and universities shutting down, emptying dorms and sending kids home for spring break with the possibility to last the entire semester.
