Personally, I’m more concerned about the infected individuals that haven’t even been identified as potential cases.

Yes, that was really my point.

.The United States has raised the travel advisory level for South Korea to "Level 2: Exercise increased caution" as the number of coronavirus cases there surged to 433.

Israel has expanded quarantine regulations, requiring all those returning from South Korea and Japan to remain in isolation for two weeks.

Quarantine was previously mandated for Israelis returning from China, Thailand, Singapore, Hong Kong and Macau.

The move came as Israel's Health ministry said 9 South Korean nationals who visited Israel and the West Bank in February have tested positive for the virus.

The Palestinian Interior Ministry issued a similar instruction on Saturday.

All 9 tourists returned to South Korea and it is currently unknown whether they were infected with the virus before or after arriving in Israel.

Iranian Doctors Call For 'Long Holiday' To Contain Coronavirus, As Sixth Victim Dies

The cases in Iran have no clear epidemiological link to the outbreak in China but many Iranians have pointed out a possible link between the continuation of Mahan Air flights to China and the outbreak in Iran.

The airline is reportedly owned in part by the Revolutionary Guard.

I believe Iran has reported 28 infections?

With 6 fatalities, that brings the fatality rate to 21%

And UAE has reported 13 cases, 2 of which are linked to Iran

So once again: How do 11 people in UAE get infected with this virus?

Living With Coronavirus: Santa Clarita Resident Continues To Share Story

"My fever returned tonight. I am bummed. It is low-grade 99.7, but it lingers. My medical team is giving me Ibuprofen along with more Gatorade. My doctor does not want me to take Tylenol. Tylenol’s active ingredient is Acetaminophen, not Ibuprofen. Aspirin, Advil and a potpourri of other over-the-counter medications all use Ibuprofen.

I’m told taking Tylenol may be counterproductive to the virus"

Hmm wonder why that is? Know that Advil and the like are better at lowering inflammation?? But that Tylenol may be actively counterproductive to the virus?? Advil has always worked better for me but I have to watch my high BP when I take it...

He doesn't seem to have the best understanding of the choices his doctors are making, so I think it would be risky to try and interpret what he's saying as if it was direct medical advice.

For instance, Asprin does not contain Ibuprofen...They are both NSAID's, but they are not the same drug. Tylenol (acetaminoprfen, aka paracetamol in many countries) is not an NSAID (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory).

Both tylenol and ibuprofen, I have read, will bring the temperature down. But Ibuprofen and other NSAID drugs can help reduce inflammation in the body. I believe it's inflammation in the lungs that's the most dangerous aspect of this virus in the patients with the more severe symptoms. I have no idea if it's normal for doctors to prescribe ibuprofen for that purpose.

Some doctors (like Dr John Campbell who's doing vids on YouTube), don't believe in taking anything to reduce fever as they feel the fever is the body's way of making the body a less hospitable environment for the virus and that the fever should only be treated in children or other patients who should not have high-grade fevers, but that most adults can cope with a fever, and so it could help provide time for the immune system to mount its response to the virus and clear the infection.

Iran’s Health Ministry official Mohsen Farhadi said arrangements have been made with medical universities across the country for the daily disinfection of airports, bus terminals, and means of public transit in cities such as buses and subways.

He assured people that they are being washed and disinfected with the newest methods and sanitizers.

The Iranian Health Ministry also said at least 785 out of thousands of people with flu-like symptoms going to hospitals and clinics have been placed under special medical care for further examination.

This is pretty stunning news: So tourists won't be able to visit Milan, Padua, Venice, for example ?

( And let's not forget all the huge Cruise Ships that visit Venice- Yipes)

I'm not yet able to find independent confirmation of this news outside of the BNO Twitter

:eek:Seven cruise ships to house Wuhan medical workers

The first of these ships, the Blue Whale, arrived in Wuhan, the epicentre of the outbreak, on Friday from Yichang, a nearby city down the Yangtze River.

The seven ships will provide 1,469 beds in total.

Did the last occupants leave the technological devices and other things they were given? Or does everything have to be new due to possible infection?

Good question. What kind of devices?
Under normal circumstances hard, non-porous items are cleaned with disinfectant with appropriate contact time adhered to and then the item can be used again.
But I can only speak to hospital equipment, ie: beds, vitals monitors, telephones in patient rooms,
Has anyone read what disinfectant is being used to clean?
At my hospital EVS cleaners use Virox and Clorox healthcare Bleach wipes depending on what the isolation was.

Seeing some confusion on whether its the cities or the provinces.
They left it open to add locations.
I'm looking for second source too.

I’m having a hard understanding why the US has so few cases right now. It seems to be exploding in other areas.

California has a significantly large Asian population and the San Francisco Bay Area in particular has many people who travel to and from China all the time.

The travel ban from Wuhan certainly helped, but overall, there were still thousands of travelers from China that were (and are still) passing in and out.

MOO
