Oh, I thought since evaporated that you could just add water to "make milk". Heck, I grew up on powdered milk (not much money in our house when young) so I guess I could do that again, if it's still on shelves.

Better off with powdered, atleast it tastes like milk and water,
childhood memories ...
Be hard pressed to get kids to drink evap milk.

One thing that has really been concerning to me is how at first when all the cases were in China, this felt so far away.

Then as other countries began seeing isolated cases, it raised the bar of fear in me. Lastly, starting to see news stories of people being tested right in my own state and began to seriously wonder if I had crossed paths with person X being tested.

Its frightening how this virus has migrated all the way to where a lot of us live. Im glad the numbers are still relatively low in other countries but the big unknown is how far and wide this virus will reach and to what extent. Its all a big uknown right now that I dont think anyone even in the CDC or WHO knows for sure how this will eventually turn out.

Prayers for all who have been affected in one way or another. And praying that we will see a downturn soon.
Now a DOG tests positive for coronavirus: Patient's pet Pomeranian comes down with the disease in Hong Kong

A Pomeranian dog has tested positive for the coronavirus after contracting the disease from its owner.

This is terrible news. I dread to think what is going to happen in China with this devastating development.

It's important to know if this test was validated for canines, and how it was that someone used a test on a dog.

I'm not going to accept this as truth until is it reported by more credible sources than a tabloid magazine.

Well I found it. He tested negative. Went to Oregon.

Southern Oregon here...I hope he tested negative beyond the incubation period. Wasn’t it found to be more than 14 days? But I suppose it’s inevitable that Covid-19 will arrive here eventually.

Happenings in South Korea:

*Their Costco has put Ramen Noodles on rations to their customers. So, if you like Ramen, you might want to stock up?
But, lots of other news, just caught the Ramen news as interesting...

I thought KALI would be along to mention it, But since she hasn’t so far; Dollar tree also sells UHT or shelf stable milk.

Very foolish and dangerous of this guy to do. Hope that we don’t have others that follow.

“1:19 p.m. Solano County declares emergency:
Officials in Solano County declared a local emergency after a resident tested positive for the new coronavirus without any clues as to how she could have been infected. The declaration will help the county rally resources to start identifying and screening individuals who may have come into contact with the patient, officials said. “We are taking this situation seriously and are taking steps necessary to protect the health and safety of Solano County residents,” Dr. Bela Matyas, Solano County’s health officer, said in a statement. The county will be holding a press conference at 4:30 p.m. in Fairfield.”

4:30 PM Pacific Time (in a little over an hour).

I’m not sure where to watch live....

I finally found some information that may help you view the press conference live. Hope this helps. Sometimes you dont need a Facebook ID+PW so if you can find the Facebook they are talking about at bottom below, then you should be able to view it.

I would be delighted and hugely relieved if it turns out to be fake news. I feel sick at the prospect that pets will be brutally mass murdered.

With the stock markets reacting to the virus news, this is starting to affect a lot of folks now as 401K's are typically in stock related funds.

So unless people have transferred their stock funds into a more stable cash/bond related fund right about when the markets started to tank, then there are real monies (value) being lost by a lot of folks.

People that did not move their money before now are left with a decision to either just leave things as they are (since over time the stocks usually will eventually rebound), OR, go ahead and cut their losses and transfer anyway.

I luckily or unluckily am too broke to afford stocks but I find the stock market news about it very interesting as this is one way this virus is really impacting people right now/today.

The general public is starting to see other impacts like the shortages of things and travel restrictions we have covered. So even if people havent paid attention to the virus news, there are starting to be real impacts now.

There is no way, IMO, that hospitals would turn someone away that has coronavirus right now.

(JMO, and I am not a healthcare professional)
I don't think people worry so much about being turned away as they do about paying for care/being in crushing debt. They often second-guess their needs until they are in an undeniable crisis. That's true for the uninsured and the underinsured alike.

I *am* a healthcare professional and you are 100% correct. There is not an ER in the US that will refuse to stabilize, treat, and transfer if necessary, someone who has a life-threatening condition. This was true before coronavirus, it will be true during any coronavirus outbreak, and it will continue to be true after any outbreak.
