Hmmmmm.....

Information control at its finest...

Probably needed to some degree to suppress panic, but I hope that the flow is controlled without data suppression.

Of course, if they want information control, I really hope this thread flies under the radar!! Best source for information that I know of !!!

It will not work. States will independently report statistics even if the federal government stops the CDC from doing so. And then there is social media: do they truly think that a doctor is going to refuse to tell someone "Well, I think your grandmother has COVID-19, but the CDC won't allow us to test to confirm it."

London coronavirus patient turned up at hospital in Uber taxi

"The first person diagnosed with coronavirus in London turned up unannounced at a hospital in an Uber taxi after falling ill.

Two staff from Lewisham hospital in south London are now in isolation at home after coming into contact with the woman, a Chinese national who had recently arrived in the city from China.

Lewisham hospital on Thursday confirmed the unnamed patient had not followed public health officials’ advice and had simply “self-presented” at its A&E unit on Sunday afternoon.

She did not arrive by ambulance or her own private vehicle and went straight to the A&E reception desk to report her symptoms – both clear breaches of guidance aimed at stopping the spread of the virus.

No other patients were exposed to the risk of infection by the manner of her arrival, the hospital said.

The woman was then sent home pending the results of her tests. On Wednesday she was taken to another London hospital, St Thomas’, for treatment."

Costco has Horizon Organic whole milk in 10 oz containers that don't need to be refrigerated. The outdate on my case is July 2020.
Organic milk is UHT treated and generally has a long outdate without requiring refrigeration. I found that out traveling in the tropics.

Good information above.

I was wondering if liquid Condensed milk in the can would also be good to have a small supply of. I think I use them at Thanksgiving when making Pumpkin Pie recipes.

I once tried mixing condensed milk with water to see what the actual milk would taste like, and lets just say......when push comes to shove and that is all there is...... :)

I've never noticed that! Can you tell me what area of Costco I would find that in? Is it with the other beverages....juice etc?

I think it's in one of those long aisles of big sacks of grain or gallons of teriyaki sauce, one of the aisles I usually bypass

It might also be along the wall by the food aisles. They had a pallet of coconut water, almond milk, soy milk, and it might have been in that row.

You need evaporated milk, not condensed milk

Sweetened condensed milk can be frozen into something that resembles ice cream. Very sweet

Italy reports 127 new cases and 3 new deaths, raising country's total to 655 cases and 17 dead Tracking coronavirus: Map, data and timeline

BNO Newsroom on Twitter

I keep trying to find small pieces of good news and the only good news about that story is this seems to confirm the "relatively small" death rate of about 2.6% if we take the 17/655=0.026, which is 2.6%.

That is close to what we were seeing in China and we always wondered how accurate their numbers are. So now that we are getting other countrie's figures, at least the death rate is about what we had figured and is not much worse than what China was telling us.

The NHS is rolling out new services to test people for coronavirus, including “drive through” testing in west London.

The service, provided by Central London Community Healthcare NHS Trust in Parsons Green, is only available after a referral from NHS 111.

It comes after the NHS’ strategic incident director for coronavirus asked health services across the country to set up home and community testing.

People are invited to an appointment in their car, where two community nurses carry out a swab in the nose and mouth. The patient is then asked to self-isolate while the swabs are assessed within 72 hours.

2 cruise ships are due to arrive in Charlottetown in my province of Prince Edward Island (Canada) on April 29th, kicking off the cruise ship season here. There is a project underway to expand a berth to be able to handle the docking of 2 cruise ships at a time.

From the article:
Brenda Gallant, director of marketing with Tourism P.E.I., said it's early yet, but P.E.I. may actually see an increase in cruise ship traffic because of coronavirus.

"There's actually some talk around the cruise industry where we might see an increase in cruise in North America as a result of a decrease in cruise in Asia," she said. "So, that might actually be a positive impact."

The Dominican Republic prohibited more than 1,000 cruise passengers on the Fred. Olsen Cruise Line Braemar ship from disembarkarking in La Romana Thursday, fearing several people aboard with flu-like symptons might be carrying coronavirus.

A spokesperson for Fred. Olsen Cruise Line said via email that there are a small number of cases of influenza-type symptoms on board. The director of the Dominican Republic port authority Víctor Gómez Casanova announced that the ship will not be allowed to disembark passengers in La Romana Thursday or visit Santo Domingo as planned on Friday.

I plan on preserving WS thread from government censors by subterfuge : I will having a running commentary on the evaluation of freeze-dried desserts so as to conceal the really FACTUAL stuff being so carefully and diligently reported by our WS SuperStars

Starting with free dried ice cream.

*Nothing to see here, Mr. Censor, just a discussion 'bout Thigh Masters and frozen ice cream..."

LOL - that will be my first Google search if needed!!

China should ban the eating of dogs and cats completely to 'restore its international image', a scholar has urged.

The news came after a Chinese city drafted a law to forbid the consumption of the pets to improve food safety in the wake of the coronavirus outbreak.

Guo Changgang, an academic from Shanghai, called for Beijing to set up legislation and impose the restriction across the country.

The Decatur County Sheriff's Office in Oberlin, Kansas, said meth purchased locally might be contaminated with coronavirus (which is not true) and they are advising drug users to get their supplies tested for free.

“If you have recently purchased meth locally, it may be contaminated with the coronavirus,” the post said. “Please take it to the sheriff's office or police department and they will test it for free." “If you're not comfortable going into an office, please contact any officer and they'll test your meth in the privacy of your home. Please spread the word!”
