First of all, that's probably Never going to happen. Years? Maybe. Months? Not A Chance!
And I have news for Dr. Fauci. The vast majority of Americans are already back to a "sense of normality." Some were back to it while the outbreak was at it's worst. No, I'm not going to eat any vegetables. Just give me my d&*n cake and ice cream.
Sadly, he's really kind of wasting his breath at this point. Those who hate him and have ignored every single thing he's said for the last 20 months, are Still hating him and ignoring everything he says. If they are even listening, it's only to find contradictions in his recommendations, so they can throw it back in his face. The sooner they do that, the faster they can go back to the place they can get real medical advice from experts. Facebook and that TV Network.
Dr. Fauci is talking about what needs to be done to move from a pandemic to an endemic. Again, that's likely news to most people, who think the pandemic is a already a memory rather than a current event. He's simply stating what would be possible, were we living in an intelligent society, where people actually cared, and followed the recommendations of scientists and other experts. Unfortunately the society we're in is so far removed from that as to make it more like a Fantasyland type proposition.
There was maybe a couple of week period back in April/May, when even my pessimistic self thought that perhaps we could be responsible and nip this virus in the bud. But seriously, it must be evident to those smart enough to see the potential for success in controlling the virus going forward, that it's an unachievable goal.
