Checking in as Covid impacted restaurant owner in California.
Well, we hit the ball out of the park on this Valentine's Day.
As a Mom and Pop Restaurant owner, we were pretty amazed at the turn-out and response to our place tonight.
We do Old School Cooking. Actually, we do old school everything. Our employees have been with us for decades.
Anyway. Apparently, we've become the talk of the county.
Lots of NEW young people. Families.
Tomorrow, masks are supposed to be off in most of California, except, in Los Angeles.
Nobody tonight was waiting for tomorrow.
My husband and myself, are pretty amazed at what went on tonight.
Everyone was happy. Appreciative and thankful.
Signing out, on my 31st Anniversary of being married to this man and our 31 years of working together in the restaurant business. Kali

That's the best news! Thanks for sharing it!

Babies get Covid protection from mothers vaccinated during pregnancy, CDC says (nbcnews.com)

Infants younger than 6 months are 61 percent less likely to be hospitalized from Covid if their mothers got vaccinated while pregnant, CDC data shows.

Expectant mothers who get a Covid-19 vaccine while pregnant pass immune protection on to their newborns, findings from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed Tuesday.

The chances that a baby 6 months old or younger is hospitalized due to Covid are 61 percent lower if the mother received two shots of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine while pregnant, the CDC's Dr. Dana Meaney-Delman said.

Researchers studied newborns at 20 pediatric hospitals across 17 states from July 1, 2021, through Jan. 17...

My husband and I recently had COVID. I barely got sick, and my husband still has it. I guess that’s called long covid. He got it horribly badly. He should’ve gone to the hospital but refused. His oxygen was very low, his blood pressure high, his fever was over 103 for several days, he didn’t eat for 8 days, he lost his coloring, he was wheezing awfully bad, coughing and still is somewhat. He has not had any energy since December, among many other things/symptoms. He can’t walk 100’ w/o having to rest for an hour. He’s even having symptoms not associated with Covid. I think it affected his kidneys but being the stubborn person that he is he won’t go to the Dr. According to his preexisting conditions he shouldn’t have lived, but here we are almost 2 month so later.
I don’t mind mean to sound ignorant or aloof/cold but if my husband live-streams past 2022 I will be shocked!!!!

ETA: He also had an infusion of antibodies but it did not work, not outwardly anyway.

Thank you for sharing your story. I hope that your husband regains his health. Were you both vaccinated?

My husband tested positive for COVID on Sunday. It started with congestion, and then a runny nose and fatigue on Saturday night. When the coughing started on Sunday, he took one of our at-home rapid tests and it was positive. Thankfully, his symptoms haven’t progressed any further than that and already seem to be easing up a bit. We are both boosted and I haven’t had any symptoms, so I didn’t take a test. (At least not yet.)

I’m curious for those of you who had COVID — how long did it take for you to have symptoms after the first family member tested positive or vice versa?

I finally received my US Government tests today :)
YES, I just got mine as well. I didn't get any email saying it was being shipped----it just suddenly arrived.

With covid, one can appear to be doing better and then go downhill. So make sure to monitor oxygen levels with pulse oximeter. I was exposed to a family member with covid but never got it as far as I know.

I’m glad you were barely sick, your hub sounds like he has multiple health issues on top of Covid yet refuses to acknowledge any of them. Remember you need to take care of yourself too.

Yes. 2022 is all about “self care”, because I matter!

Novak Djokovic reveals he will MISS the French Open and Wimbledon if he requires a Covid vaccine | Daily Mail Online

Djokovic told the BBC that he was not an anti-vaxxer, but took a stand for individual rights by saying 'my body is more important than any title or anything else'.

But he revealed he is keeping his mind open to having the jab in future, insisting his decision not to get vaccinated is only 'as of today'.

I wonder if he will get into the US.

"Djokovic has been included on the entry list for the prestigious Indian Wells tournament in California next month — but will have trouble getting into the United States because foreign air flyers must provide proof of vaccination before boarding flights."

Myself, husband and our son just had it at the end of January. We were all a couple days apart with when symptoms started

I have found lately that many "rules" are "re-interpreted" depending on the situation/ and or people involved. It drives me crazy.

Well, after the debacle we had with him, Serbia gave him a diplomatic passport. So, it looks like he may be able to get into the US due to that.

"Meanwhile, a Serbian embassy official told local newspaper the Herald Sun on Friday that Djokovic has a diplomatic passport. “Djokovic, as our most recognizable representative in the world, is the holder of a diplomatic passport, which should, in diplomatic theory and consular practice, guarantee him adequate treatment when crossing borders,” she reportedly said."
