I purchased extra root veggies as they can be stored for awhile - and extra coffee because I'm an addict.

Seems Mar-a-Lago should be declared a hotspot. IMO#5
The chair of the RNC, @GOPChairwoman Ronna Romney McDaniel, came home sick from Mar-a-Lago, has tested negative for flu & strep and is awaiting #coronavirus test results. She has symptoms of #COVID19

STAY HOME, SAVE LIVES
There could be more positives from this party than 87 countries....just saying.
Got lucky used to mean something else and not buying cottonelle wipes at Walmart.
LOL.
I’m happy your Dad is staying home. My in-laws are stubborn. My FIL was on a flight to Spain from Kennedy in NY on 3/10. They literally took him and his wife off the plane because Trump had just made his initial statement about the 30 day restriction from Europe. He was livid angry and thought everyone was being hysterical. He also thought he was going to spend 10 days in Spain and fly back to NY and stay at OUR HOUSE. Heck no! Thankfully he never went- he’s 67 btw and smokes cigarettes. He was so bitter about it that they decided to drive back to SC and not stop by. Which I’m glad, the airport and brief stay on the plane was enough for us to say he’s not welcome. My Dad has not taken the news of possibly being stuck at home 24/7 for four months well. He lives with me and our cat so thankfully he won’t be alone if it happens. I don’t know how older people who live alone with no family will cope.
I really hope your Dad will be ok.
Thank you so much for thinking of your neighbor! What a kind thing to do!!Good morning everyone. Playing catch-up here and still reading through the last thread. I did want to thank @justbeachy, who mentioned elderly people who live alone without a lot of contact. It made me think of a neighbour, so today I’m popping a note through her door offering to do an online grocery shop for her. She can put a list through my letterbox, I’ll place the order and it’ll be delivered to her home. Voila. No human contact needed.
As an introvert, I feel my whole life has been building towards this.![]()
Also, I purchased a lot of fresh produce not because it will store well, but that's what we are eating NOW, saving the "pandemic prep food" for later.Oh yes .. great ideas. I'm keeping track of these suggestions.
I think we may have some of the same kinfolks somehow........mooI’m happy your Dad is staying home. My in-laws are stubborn. My FIL was on a flight to Spain from Kennedy in NY on 3/10. My MIL -65 yo- is out at a party for our cousin who is severely disabled. He lives in a 24 hour care facility but is allowed out for visits with family. The place hasn’t said they’re not allowing visitors but I worry that they’re still letting the residents out because they’re vulnerable. All to say she too, my MIL said when my husband asked her why she’s out, “I’m not letting no virus control my life”. Ugh the ignorance. And as a side note we always get digestive issues after eating at her house. She uses a wooden chop block and rinses it with water. Keeps a towel on her shoulder that is wiped with her meat hands and then used to wipe down the counter and table. So I worry about her awareness of how contamination works. She’s also got a compromised immune system from her medication. Sorry for the long post.
Nearly 50 employees of Life Care Center of Kirkland, the Seattle-area nursing home that has been an epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak in the U.S., have tested positive for the virus, according to a report.

Our old friend Ben the Irishman posted an 2nd Q&A video:
P.S.: his lady friend in Wuhan is doing good. She stayed behind and did not leave China because she did not want to leave her cats.
P.S.S. She is better off there than here quite frankly. MOO
Oh, my Dad is going to love that (sarcasm). He’s such a social being - 83 years old and out and about nearly every day of the week. Still, whatever it takes to keep him safe. I’m sure you’ll feel the same about your own parents, @gregjrichards
