I think the economy is what's making him downplay it. At least he respects my views on it and understands why I feel the way I do. I'm generally very laid back and I normally don't get too hyped about things so he's not used to me being on high alert like I am. He feels bad that I feel the way I do about it.

I'm sure we're not the only couple having the same disconnect in regards to Covid-19.
No you are not alone. It is difficult and yes the economy is driving my husbands outlook as well. I try to point out all his favorite sports have initiated a massive shut down. Do you think they would do that for no reason?

We can can call Uber, taxi or a friend to pick it up.
Some folks (not restaurants)
in surrounding areas are doing home delivery of booze, they will put an end to that real soon!

I think women are more concerned. A lot of men don’t have as much access to the news, like some stay at home women. Plus gotta add in the macho factor.

Woolworths has become the first supermarket giant to announce it will open early with a dedicated shopping hour for the elderly and disabled to stock up without being caught up in the panic-buying process.

Woolworths opens early for elderly and disabled people to shop during coronavirus frenzy | Daily Mail Online

This is great all supermarkets everywhere should be doing this. I am disabled I walk with crutches and my Dad walks with a walking stick. Going shopping has been a nightmare recently even though we have gone first thing in the morning.

I've seen calls for the UK supermarkets to do this, too. I think it would be a brilliant idea maybe 2 or 3 mornings per week.

Dude in KY left the hospital without permission and now has deputies stationed near his house to make sure he doesn't leave his house. I am thinking if he was bad enough to be admitted to the hospital, they might not have to be stationed there for long.

Watching DeWine live no link. Medical facilities will start day care services for medical professionals in order for them to continue working.

Minnesota Governor, Tim Walz signed and executive order that covers this.

Walz's executive order requires schools to provide care for elementary-age children of health care professionals, first responders and other emergency workers during previously planned school days to help those workers stay on the job and help fight the coronavirus outbreak.

Walz: Schools to remain open for children of health care workers, emergency responders

KY is allowing 50% of positive cases to recover from home, as know there is NO treatment. Unless one needs to be intubated, they walk.

It’s odd to me too. The numbers don’t match the mass hysteria and talk of forced quarantines and martial law. It’s a virus to take seriously and we all need to do our part to stop the spread, but this is sort of becoming unreal to me.
I'm convinced the spread is much much worse than what's being reported.
Our Gov't tried to suppress the facts for weeks,
didn't line up tests, denied the numbers- basically stifled the whole seriousness as long as they could.
Now they're talking of shutting down whole
cities, schools.
I believe our gov't. knows how bad it is becoming and the reported numbers are really a joke.
It's probably 100 times worse than 'we' know.

Elderly Georgia couple quarantined separately after contracting coronavirus on the Diamond Princess say spending almost three weeks apart was worse than their mild pneumonia and flu-like symptoms

Dale and Sherry Grizzle were parted for nearly three weeks due to the coronavirus outbreak on the cruise ship in Japan and they've said the distance between them was the worst part about being stricken with the illness.

Diamond Princess couple reunited after separate coronavirus quarantines say symptoms weren't so bad | Daily Mail Online

I am so glad they survived and that they have been reunited.

Beaches are closing in south east FL.... I cannot imagine how they’re going to enforce this. A strip of a couple miles isn’t going to accomplish a lot. Closing bars at 10pm doesn't mean a visitor won’t be infected at 9pm. I certainly admire their efforts. I just think I’d rather have them on the beach frying their germs away than sitting in a business breathing their germs thru the A/C. There is no filter on this planet that will make your home heat or A/C that pure.

"Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis said the White House should consider restricting domestic travel from states that are seeing a rapid increase in coronavirus infections, saying the flow of people has made containment difficult.

He made the plea shortly before the state on Saturday announced its fourth death from the disease, a 77-year-old man from Lee County."

KY is cancelling elective surgeries, beginning Wednesday. Maybe an influx of patients soon?
