Honestly, good luck with that. I truly hope a miracle does intervene much earlier than the 12-15 plus months that scientists are saying is the time it will take to, research, test and introduce any defence against it. Be it to be protect or prevent. X
I think it will be much faster than that. Some treatments they are testing now have shown to be very effective already.

OKLAHOMA.....wow, just wow

So it turns out the Utah Jazz didn’t buy these tests privately.
Instead, the state of Oklahoma used 60% of their daily test capacity (100 tests) on testing players and staff from an NBA team.

Yeah, they had to though imo because that was a huge cluster they had to see through.

No, we must not just let it unfold. Closing down schools, bars, restaurants, amusement parks, no gatherings of more than 50 people, etc will have positive effect on flattening the curve, which is #1 priority right now. We won't have enough hospital beds if the spread is not controlled NOW.
Exactly. Once again - a virus cannot survive without a host. As in person 1 is a host who then comes in contact with person 2 & 3. Now the virus moves on to them. And the next people come along and the virus moves along too. Thus the virus stays "alive." Take away the host(s) and kill off the virus. Or in this case now, probably we can only slow it down. Good enough for me. Stay inside and away from others - that denies its access to the next person.

What is a virus? How do they spread? How do they make us sick?

Stores will restock. People will run out of things the need to buy and stay home Shop online. This is not going to be easy. Adapting and improvising will go a long way.

I think that what you said is key to surviving this - adapting and improvising. Good advice, thanks.

New Olympic look amid virus crisis

OMG! I'm on the back porch and everyone is asleep and I'm a guest. I think I just woke them all up by laughing so loudly! *We* all know it's going to be cancelled... but this was just too funny. We need a laugh here now and again for sure this was a good one.

ETA: Two minutes later, I'm still laughing!!!! SMH that they have not announced yet.... I'm calling it, the emperor has no clothes!

No WONDER why Japan has the lowest flattened curve... they want to say they are good to go for the Olympics (egads, are the numbers true?) nawwww

CANADA

So it is now clear that there is greater community transmission of #COVID19 in Canada.
This is the time (early in our epidemic) where social distancing, staying at home if sick, and hand hygiene will have the greatest benefit in reducing the impact this has on our country.

STAY HOME, SAVE LIVES

I think we all need to do what New York is suggesting, which is stay home as much as possible, even if not ill.

The first five days I never checked my temperature, I just knew l was running a temperature, including the headaches and cough. At this point l have been checking my temperature. I’m running a low grade fever, sometimes normal, then it goes back to low grade. One thing my cheeks on my face seem hot faster than other areas. Nothing makes sense...

I'm sorry you are sick but it sounds like whatever you have, you are putting up a good fight. One of the Princess cruise line passengers is still testing positive in Omaha and he's been in isolation for over a month. He's in pretty good spirits but is frustrated because he wants to go home. He's certainly maintaining his sense of humor.

<modsnip: quoted post was removed>

a restaurant can have a large turn over in one day & stainless steel appears to hold the virus, as we know.
Travel bans might be next or planes with 25 or less? (Lol)

I was speaking to one of our Dr's yesterday. He said that one of the treatments that is showing promise is Plaquenil (one of the medications used to treat malaria) and zinc! I've been using zinc lozenges all winter. I've had great luck with no colds or flu for the two years I've been using them. Luck? Maybe. Or maybe not!
ETA: Correct drug was Plaquenil. Sorry all.

That's why you should wipe the surfaces with clorox or lysol wipes.

For the first time since I got this way, I'm thrilled to be fat. I can live a long time without food if I need to give up my portions to feed my kids or my dogs.

:D
