Oh my gosh, That's where we took our yearly ski trips for over 30 years. I can't believe it, all the ski resorts closed. :(
State: Those who live, visited Colorado counties with coronavirus should ‘minimize their contact with other people’
It just dawned on me, many of those people.. and spring break week to boot... will be bringing the virus home with them. How will they get home... asked to travel in private vehicle. But many fly in and out. Are they going to forgo their plane fare and rent a car? Doubtful there will be nearly enough cars to go around. Omg

ETA: asked to self quarantine. That will cost a fortune, many couldn’t afford to do that.

I have been seeing a lot of posts re loss of hunger. I was like that in the beginning when we decided to self isolate . Broths really helped me and I chose dense foods like eggs and salads. My appetite came back after the 2nd week of isolation.

For many people with pulmonary problems, that advice can be deadly.

What if you do not catch the virus, but you stop taking your necessary meds, and die of an acute asthma attack instead?

Trudeau to announce additional @Bravo his wife is positive for the virus.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is due to address the nation from self-isolation again Monday after a weekend that saw health officials strengthen their tone on COVID-19 as provinces took more drastic measures to stem the virus‘s spread. News of Trudeau’s press conference, which is scheduled for 1 p.m. E.T., came hours after cabinet ministers left a meeting on Sunday promising big action. Some of those same ministers are set to speak to reporters after Trudeau’s address.

LOL. Quoting the Newport OR police FB page:

"It’s hard to believe that we even have to post this,"
"Do not call 9-1-1 just because you ran out of toilet paper. You will survive without our assistance."

The post then pointed out the different methods used throughout history before suggesting other items that could be used in lieu of "your favorite soft, ultra plush two-ply citrus scented tissue."

Among their suggestions: grocery store receipts, newspaper, cloth rags, magazine pages, cotton balls and even leaves.

"Be resourceful. Be patient. There is a TP shortage. This too shall pass. Just don’t call 9-1-1. We cannot bring you toilet paper," the post concluded.

New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy is calling for the closure of the state's casinos, gyms and movie theaters and strongly discouraging nonessential travel as the Garden State looks to curb the coronavirus outbreak.

Murphy announced the closings on a call with fellow Democratic Govs. Andrew Cuomo of New York and Ned Lamont of Connecticut, who are calling for similar closures in their states as part of a regional response to the virus.

The governors also said they would prohibit gatherings of 50 or more people, lining up with federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommendations.

They are closing all casinos, gyms and movie theaters at 8 p.m. Monday night.

Restaurants and bars will also close to dine-in patron and can only do delivery and takeout.

"These establishments will be provided a waiver for carry-out alcohol," a news release from Murphy's office said.

The three governors gave no timetable for when things will reopen.

A concern of mine: power outages. With way more families staying home, working from home, schooling from home, watching TV and internet usage from home - are the electric companies prepared for this?
Yes. My son works as a lineman apprentice for Jackson EMC here in Ga. They are not "at work" but are on call and will do any repairs as they normally would.

Calm in our house but panic in our state. If you any of you have time, many museums around the world let you visit virtually. A very cool experience and it meets my academic requirements for my teens.

Love this! I wonder what kids are doing now that they are out of school for several weeks? I saw a neighbor boy (5th grade, I think) roller blading up the street with a hockey stick. I'm thinking there is going to be basement or cul-de-sac hockey somewhere in the 'hood.

I had a brainstorm( much like sleuthing...LOL !) a little while ago so.............
West Texas Monday Exploring Expedition #3 ( and last one today) results - I called a local "Chain Paper Supplies " company and just bought a sealed case of , 96 individually wrapped rolls of 2ply, 500 sheets per roll, toilet paper for $56.79 ........I may have to "forage" for milk, bread, eggs, and red meat in the future, but I do not have to fight the store crowds for TP for quite a while.......Try your local large Paper Company. Most have, toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, etc.....................mybottomwillbecleanforthe nearfuturecody22.....moo
