It worries me even more as to how many are coming through our southern border undetected as well.

The Border Patrol is already overworked even before this devastating virus struck us. Every federal, state, and local agency seems overworked, including our health care workers since many of them are now seriously ill themselves with the virus.

More than ever before we need to know who is entering our country, whether illegally or legally, and which country they came from.

If not, they are infiltrating our country unknown to any of us where it will keep this virus spreading throughout giving it to more, and more people.

What is equally appalling is how many people refuses to socially distance themselves. How could they be so ignorant, uncaring, and self absorbed?

Not only does it protect them, but they probably come in contact with many citizens each day. It seems many refuse to even use their common sense, and refuse to sacrifice anything for anyone else either.
I'm sure many think they are 10 foot tall, and bullet proof, but they aren't. We have seen younger adults in very serious condition or have even passed away.

It's so disheartening as to how many are doing everything that's been recommended we all do, but then so many refuses. It really undoes what many are doing right.

I truly dont understand it. To overcome this everyone must be all inline with everyone else in each county, and state. It truly is a situation of united we stand, and devided we fall crisis for our beloved citizens/nation.

I’m more worried about the thousands of refugees including small children being housed in detention facilities where this can spread intensely and kill. They’re not being taken to hospitals when they get sick. Desperate people housed in dire conditions.

It’s not people slipping into our borders illegally that has impacted the spread. It’s thousands upon thousands of people who have been and are traveling legally from China, Iran, Italy, UK and then infecting an unsuspecting public.

It’s delays in testing and clear messages from those in leadership. It’s the minimization of the seriousness of this plague. Misinformation. Confusion.

And selfish and ignorant people who refuse to practice social distancing or gatherings.

That’s what we have to worry about. Not huddled masses trying to sneak in anywhere during a plague.

I'm taking a break from TV news. I'm reading local news, NBC, and NYT. I never get tired of Triple D reruns on Food Network, and there is a marathon of hour-long compilation episodes on today. TV news is depressing

Is anyone else getting in some gardening?

I've been taking advantage of the nice weather and getting some outside prep in. The birds are blissfully unaware of social distancing they're singing their hearts out and pairing off. I'll be planting some radish, lettuce, spinach, kale and carrot today. Extra thankful for these seeds and soil this year! The mint is coming in strong... now we just need limes and rum.

Yes! We have a pretty big garden. I weighed my veg two years ago and grew almost a literal ton. I have a lot of greens in the garden now as well as carrots etc. I've started lots of peppers and eggplant that are ready to plant as soon as it's safe. And I've started tomatoes and then grafted them. We have a lot of tomato diseases and this has produced the best tomatoes for us. 28 trays of plants started already: lettuce, broccoli, cabbages, collards, arugula etc.

I'm online now looking at more seeds. lol I started some okra in a tray today as well as some zinnias. I have a feeling this will be the best year ever since we'll all be stuck at home!

Quick tip: if you have to be out in public like me traveling today. Glove one hand. Use that hand to touch things the public has. Use your other non gloved hand to touch your things, your door handles, your keys, your phone etc. then once you are back in your vehicle, appropriately remove the glove and dispose. Sanitize to be sure. Considered Lysoling the pump but I’m saving it for my hotel room. Lots of people on the road. Figure they are driving instead of flying. One more stop before the hotel. My boss still thinks it’s way overblown and people are just trying to get out of work and all of it just makes him mad so yeah..my schedule won’t change.

Hi everyone, This morning I spoke with my nurse regarding my low grade fevers, dry cough and headaches since the 6th of March. My nurse feels this could be from having sinusitis. The post nasal drip going down the back of my throat is causing the dry cough. Since there is pollen in the air allergies could also be a factor. I will be putting away my dark thoughts and stop thinking it might be the virus. Everyone thank you again for caring about how I feel. What a great group of people we have here.

Oh, that's a relief and a lot better than having the virus. What type of treatment are you using to relieve your symptoms of the post nasal drip that's causing the dry cough? Will Allergy OTC meds help?

Get your online grocery order in early. My daughter went to pick hers up yesterday, but when she got there 3 pages of her order was 'not available currently'.

Thanks, very good advice. Maybe we need to add alternate products, mostly in cans? I hope product availability improves in about 2 weeks, but that will depend on how many people are too sick in the distribution chain. I expect various specific stores, even groceries, will just have to close when all the employees suddenly become sick at the same time.

We haven't got a garden here in FL. When we lived in Minnesota, we had a large garden. I'd plant lettuce and radishes together. Radishes come in so quick harvesting them gives the lettuce room without thinning. Keep on eye on that mint. You're likely to have volunteers forever!

I just watch Fox news only in the past few years.

I could watch Guy all day. I was just watching him a few minutes ago.

I turned it to HGTV just now which is another favorite channel of mine.

To receive medical care, a patient must be under the age of 80 and have fewer than 5 known ailments, according to a documents seen by The Telegraph.

The document, produced by the civil protection department of the Piedmont region, one of the worst regions hit, is a new guideline for staff.

It reads: "The criteria for access to intensive therapy in cases of emergency must include age of less than 80 or a score on the Charlson comorbidity Index [which indicates how many other medical conditions the patient has] of less than 5."

Right now, WORLDWIDE, it is estimated there are 100,ooo cases of Covid19. So how is the tiny UK going to end up with 8 million hospitalised?

One other thing I thought about today is that very soon, at least in the Midwest where I live, local farmers markets will be opening soon. If people are being careful, they probably won't be going around handling all of the fresh produce that was just handled by someone else or they will just stay away which means another small business could fail. It is sad.

Anyone with an autoimmune condition and are on immunosuppresants are we really at risk? I keep getting mixed messages, I thought with an autoimmune, your immune is overactive. I am waiting for tomorrow so I can call my specialist as she is not in today.

We are at high risk, my friend. Treatment plans for most autoimmune diseases utilize immunosuppression in order to calm down the overactive immune system. This helps treat/ease pain and can help reduce damage caused by disease in some patients, as well.

I take a small dose of chemo daily along with an infusion every 8 weeks. I was hospitalized in September with a GI bleed but because I had my infusion within the last 30 of being admitted, they wouldn't scope me to find the bleed. They treated me conservatively with steroids and antibiotics without knowing what the cause was. It took four days before I stopped bleeding. I was very ill and had two blood transfusions while I was there.

Immunosuppression is serious business. All JMO and personal experience.

Also, a cruise ship let passengers disembark without screenings in Miami yesterday after a person had to be taken off due to positive testing for coronavirus. Everyone on the cruise scattered like roaches.
