I don't post much but I've been following the thread since Wuhan and I just want to thank everyone for their post and the links keeping us all up to date. I also love to hear how all of you are coping in your little personal corners of the world.

My 10 year old daughter is a type one diabetic, so prepping has been difficult except for hand sanitizer and alcohol wipes, Lol we already had plenty of that on hand.

I spend most of February trying to up her insulin quantity so we would have a little emergency stockpile. Her doctor was on board, but of coarse the insurance company was not. They did end up almost doubling the quantity of her fast acting insulin though so that was a huge win.

As of now we have enough fast acting insulin to last approximately until June!

Her long acting (24 hour) insulin will last us until almost May.

We should have enough needles to last approximately 45 days

I couldn't place a refill order for her CGM (continuous Glucose Monitor) until March 13th due to insurance. So it won't ship out until March 20th and then will take about 7 more days to arrive. My fingers are crossed that delivery services won't be shut down before then. I'm pretty sure it's coming via fed ex.

Of coarse if it doesn't come we can go back to finger pokes but the CGM is truly a life saver. My daughter's blood sugar dropped to 44 a couple weeks ago over night and I never would of known if her CGM hadn't set off it's alarm.

We have lots of Skittles, starburst, cookies and guclose tabs handy to treat lows, but only a few zero carbs things.

My husband had to return back to work today after being off for the last 4 days ( regular days off). I told my daughter that we now need to be really careful getting too close to dad when he is back home. No more hugs and kisses and even sitting next to him on the couch might not be good. The look on her face was heartbreaking but we just have to be extra careful for her.
@Lynetta This must be a very stressful time for you and your family. It sounds like you thought ahead and are prepared. Wishing you all the best during this very difficult time!

I heard a local pizza shop is giving any child a free small pizza every day to make sure they all eat!

I got teary-eyed reading this. Do you patronize the pizza place? If so, please thank them for doing this :)

Please continue to post here :-) It may seem trite, but I believe it helps: "A problem shared is a problem cut in half." If not literally, then emotionally. At least, in my experience.

HSE will use Croke Park as drive-thru Covid-19 testing facility

(Ireland)

CROKE PARK IS to be turned into a Covid-19 testing facility, residents around the stadium have been told.

Residents received a message today that the layout of the stadium is “suitable” for facilitating the tests. It will not be a walk-up service. Instead those with appointments will travel to Croke Park where they will be tested and will then leave immediately.

A statement was issued to residents around the Croke Park area this afternoon.

It reads: ” Following a high-level request from the HSE today and in the national interest, Croke Park is to become a drive-thru facility for testing for Covid-19 for designated appointments.

“This will not be a walk-up service. The stadium layout has been identified as being suitable for facilitating this important service at this time. As soon as we have further information, we will share with you.”

It is believed that people will be able to drive their car into the stadium’s tunnel, where they will then be tested without having to exit their vehicle.

ALL THOSE CRUISE SHIPS....JUST SAYIN

Jamaica Gleaner) The Bahamas has confirmed its first case of COVID-19.

The patient is a 61-year-old woman.

However, at a press conference yesterday afternoon, acting Health Minister Jeffrey Lloyd said the woman has not traveled in the past 20 days.

“We are currently investigating her family and social contacts to determine whether they could have been the source of her infection,” Lloyd said.

I have never been on a cruise ship and now I never want to. I have been put off of them forever after these past few weeks. Sorry to the cruise ship industry.

Everyone who still thinks this is just as bad or less than the flu should read this:

  • Half of the 300 coronavirus patients in intensive care in France are under 60, the country's top health official, Jerome Salomon, said over the weekend.

  • The World Health Organization has suggested that the coronavirus most seriously affects older people.

  • This assumption appears to have held true in Italy and has influenced governments' health advice, including in the US and the UK.

  • Salomon also said France was struggling to contain the outbreak as people ignore the country's recommendations to avoid gathering in public places.

  • France is one of the worst-hit countries in Europe, with more than 5,000 cases as of Monday.
In France, more than half of coronavirus patients in intensive care are under 60, suggesting it's not just the elderly at risk

Despite the positive test for COVID-19 from a passenger who had disembarked days earlier, thousands of people were allowed to leave a cruise ship in Miami on Sunday without undergoing medical screening.

The former passenger got off the MSC Meraviglia in Miami on March 8 after an eight-day Caribbean cruise, leaving 103 passengers and the ship’s crew aboard for the next voyage. Four days later, after the ship had sailed with thousands of additional new passengers aboard, the Public Health Agency of Canada informed Broward-based MSC Cruises that the former passenger had tested positive.

Twitter @KRON4news

“JUST IN: San Francisco reports 3 new coronavirus cases, bringing total to 40”

What am I missing here? Only 3 new cases in San Francisco today?! 40 total? Something doesn’t smell right. This has GOT to be because we have no tests. I just.... this makes no sense. People are swarming around there with no social distancing whatsoever that I saw on Friday.

I'll bet it was a real wake up call! Has she had any contact with the lawyer? I hope not.
