This makes my heart ache. Saying prayers for your friends, for you, and for all of us.

O/T a bit.

My Nana is on hospice. She’s about 3 months past the 6 month expiration date her doctor guesstimated. Her transition is developing quickly. Today I am so sad for her. She’s in her early 90’s and has ovarian cancer. She chose to forgo treatment and live the rest of her best life. She’s no longer accepting visitors and we had her over one night a week for dinner. It crushes me that this will be the ending to her story. Isolated and lonely.

Lonely? Not at all. You are with her in mind and spirit. Her story is your's to tell and I would tell it loud and proud. She is trying to spare you the short-term suffering. How incredibly unselfish of her to spare your feelings.

Chris Cuomo had a doctor on again tonight reiterating this. If he has a patient with symptoms he advises them to recover/isolate at home, too risky to visit doctor/clinic/hospital. Idk how the world is not comprehending this. Moo. He also mentioned (again) there is NO treatment, so a test is not going to help someone, unless they have severe symptoms & he would then send the patient to the ER.
That's been the message all along. I'm disgusted that some are trying to manipulate it. The treatments are being implemented beyond the E.R. The Nebraska biocontainment/isolation units are not part of Nebraska Medicine. Totally separate facilities. If anyone gets a handle on control, they will.

It is absolutely surreal. This is going to affect every aspect of our lives for quite some time. It will get worse before it gets better. It's like a science fiction novel.

I've brought it up before. Yes, it is like a sci-fi novel except they are not offering us any of those great sci-fi isolation sleeping pods so we can nap until this is over.

ETA correct spelling

Huge respect to all the doctors/nurses/hospital workers right now, i am terrified to go out anywhere let alone be working in and around hospitals with known infected people. I wake up every morning thinking this is a bad dream. I hope we all can pull through this as soon as possible. Stay safe all.

I’m unable to read the article because I don’t have Apple News but this sounds dangerous. Bringing home contaminated PPE, making homemade masks, reusing them...not good at all. Dr. Sylvia has warned about improper use of PPE.

I hate to hear this.
I agree, really scary for those families. There's nothing wrong with them being washable/resusable but they need to stay at the facility. They have biohazards on them and the cleaning service should be washing them.

We must, if we don’t have our own. I’m hoping at 6 it will be a kid free zone.
I’d rather deal with a cougher, at least I know what is going on & can run.
I’m trying to avoid little ones as much as possible.

My local hospital/physicians group sent us a message this evening about arranging for a Telehealth appointment on a video call. Without insurance it costs $45. As mentioned in the task force presser today, Medicare will cover it. It didn’t say, but I hope an appointment could be arranged over the phone for someone without the technology or skill to do a video call.

Coronavirus: State of emergency doesn’t mean LCBO, Beer Store, Ontario Cannabis Store are closed
''A state of emergency has been called in Ontario in light of the novel coronavirus pandemic, but premier Doug Ford says many places will remain open, including grocery stores, convenience stores, and for some, more importantly, the LCBO, the Beer Store and the Ontario Cannabis Store will be continuing operations.''

Lol that’s great news. Problem is going into public places. Many of our dispensaries here are close-knit, packed spaces, small waiting rooms, not to mention the employees weren’t taking this seriously last as I was there, but perhaps they’ve come around some; as much as I’d love to go restock my weed supply, it’s just like being in any other public place, risk of transmission. Moo.

As for liquor stores, I expect ours to close soon also and I’m wondering if I want to get beer delivery today, or spend that money on food. Guess I’ll pick food booooooo. That beer will go fast just like the trail mix and ice cream.

I haven’t caught up yet so sorry if this thread has already been posted. It’s medical workers posting photos of the ppe they have. It’s not good.

I have used it twice already. I downloaded an app and my phone. In my state, they require you to be visible on the phone call to be able to do a prescription. The first time I did not have an application so when I signed up for it I sent them pictures. They can walk you through it. It's extremely easy if you download the application, call your insurance company and they can tell you which application to download from Google Play or the Apple Store. I assume you have a smart phone? If not you could use your computer but some browsers don't support it, and it's easier on your phone. I've done it twice as I said, and each time it just cost me $10 and I got to see a doctor immediately purse is waiting days to go into my normal practitioner.

Good morning everyone. I’ve been up since 1:30.....
Still stocked......still eating my stock. Wondering what the state of things will be when I run out..hhmmm...

We had a influx of weekenders come and go on this island.

Now I can hear kids playing ( screaming...lol) when I go out for some sunshine. So....I guess the people with homes here and are not working have opened their homes to wait this out. Not sure how many might be infected....we’ll see in the days to come if Cape May County has it’s first case.

We already know most of the cleaning tips in this Houzz article, but I like this tip:

Start a Just-Got-Home Routine

Put your belongings down in one spot, paying attention to what you carried with you throughout the day — likely suspects include your phone, key ring and sunglasses. Wash your hands for 20 seconds, then wipe personal items with an EPA-registered disinfecting wipe and leave to dry. When cleaning electronics, keep liquids away from openings, never submerge devices, and be especially gentle with touchscreens.

Cleaning Routines to Keep Your Home Virus-Free

I will add that I also use a disinfecting wipe on my purse (not leather) because it goes a lot of places...or used to before I started staying home. :)

That sounds great. Thanks. After I posted, it occurred to me that they need to see you on the phone to make sure who you are. I have an iPhone and an iPad, so I’m good to go if I need it. I have Medicare and a supplement which is already in their system, so it should be pretty easy. I see a couple of doctors outside this system so if need be I will check to see how they do it.

“The American Red Cross says there is a severe blood shortage due to an “unprecedented number of blood drive cancellations” at these locations during the outbreak.”

:(

I’d love to give blood right now. Wish I could. :( :(

This is so depressing. :( :(

Positive energy...

I imagine we will have good days and not so good days, mentally.

I’ve found for me the different emotions come in waves, like grief.

I’m really upset about the blood shortages now. :(

This was something Doc T was talking about in Friday’s Presser, that there are still people who require treatment for other things, cancer, etc. Women are having babies...

Ugh I wish I didn’t read that post. Makes me sick.
