15 new coronavirus cases in Virginia, now 67 total cases

Here is the breakdown of the 15 new cases:

• Four in Arlington County
• Two in James City County
• Two in Fairfax County
• A Chesterfield County woman in her 60s. This case was announced on March 17. The Chesterfield Health District said there is no apparent contact between this person and person 62 on this list. As of March 17, she is in the hospital.
• A Chesterfield County man in his 80s. This case was announced on March 17. The Chesterfield Health District said there is no apparent contact between this person and person 61 on this list. As of March 17, he is in the hospital.
• Two in Henrico County
• One in Williamsburg
• One in Prince William County
• A Goochland County man in his 60s. This case was announced on March 17. The disease was likely acquired from close contact with a confirmed case while traveling outside of Virginia, according to Chickahominy Health District officials.

I don't have time to watch the video, but am assuming the hiring is still at low wage with poor benefits, if any. Why would someone work there and risk getting COVID 19, but have no health insurance coverage? They would end up homeless and bankrupt.

Oregon just extended school closure until the end of April. I am sure May will get booted as well soon. We have over 60 cases now.

Why are so many patents totally relying upon the schools to feed their children? What happens in the summer and during school breaks?

The school lunch program is based on household income, at each area the school is in. If a certain percent of students qualify, the entire school qualifies, especially in the summer.

I only know this because my kids were in the summer program held at the school. The director told me I could stop sending lunches. I told her they could give my kids lunches to some other child. (We didn’t need assistance at the time. Plus, my kids have food allergies.) After that, I took in extra stuff to donate. It gave the kids choices. When there was a field trip, she could give them snacks.

Unbeknownst to me, a mile away was a huge apartment complex of low income housing. It was out in the country, not in a dense area at all.

Yup! Just like the Harrison county, KY, case. Word spread....faster than Covid 19 & everyone crossed the line to come to our WMT.

Not yet, everyone has been calling and they refuse to comment on whether an employee trsted positive or not.
It'll probably be the lead story in the news in a day or two.
It's 2 miles away from the Liberty Square Church where many were exposed, so there is a good chance many shop at that WalMart.

In the US, a Jail is where you go when first arrested. It can sometimes be a short stay if your charges are not serious and you get bail amount to bail yourself out or get released on your own recognizance. You can also be in jail for a pretty long time if its a serious charge and the bail amount is too high or no bail is granted. So jail can feel like prison to some folks who have to stay there a long time.

A prison is where you end up if you are convicted in a court of law and have to serve a sentence for the conviction.

Men with high blood pressure are significantly more prone to hypokalemia than women are. In other words, their potassium levels are lower. Last thread, I linked one of the new data sets on COVID-19. They are finding level of severity corresponds with potassium levels. Get that potassium in!

The study you refer to was done in the US, and men eating an American diet, low on potassium (usually low on vegetables and fruit), while in Italy most people eat a Mediterranean diet, rich in potassium, so it's less likely that people have hypokalemia. All I have heard from the press conferences is that those who don’t feel sick shouldn’t be tested but a friend told me that the U.S. is considering mandatory testing for everyone. Strange to me, since there aren’t that many testing kits.

It would be very weird to mandate testing, there’s no treatment for it.

When does your self-isolation end? I think lots of us are doing it now to “flatten the curve” and stay out of harm’s way.

Its bad, if Northampton is issuing an Executive Order. The press ask about this several times today, why didn't he issue one rather than localities.

Governor Ralph Northam has issued an order that gives law enforcement the ability to enforce the limit of 10 people gatherings across the Commonwealth.

According to a press release, this applies to the number of customers present at restaurants, fitness centers and theaters are a part of this restriction.

Some laid off workers are desperate. They have bills to pay and families to feed. I would do it if I had no other income and was not in a high risk group.

You're right, of course. The whole situation is so tragic. I can't believe how terrible things are these days for so many people.
