Someone asked why there is no flour on the shelves.
I am guessing there will be lots of cookies baking with all the kids at home.
And just in case there is no bread to be found.

At our restaurant, we're down to 2 people working on the front lines. My beloved husband and our amazing chef of 12 years.
We are feeling the LOVE!
Our customers are backing us big time.
They are ordering "To Go dishes".
As in $200. Orders at a time.
I've had so many emails and phone calls telling us how much they support us and do not, want to see us go out of business.
It's very heartening.
We are a Mom and Pop business, with employees that have been with us for well over a decade.
We are located in San Diego- in the country.
Agricultural area with a lot of retirees and farm workers.

New Marines won’t go home after boot camp as coronavirus precaution, Parris Island says

The 10-day leave following graduation from Marine Corps Recruit Depot Parris Island has been suspended through at least May 11, the base announced. Marines will instead report directly to their next stop to continue training.

Orange County, CA (my county) is now on lockdown.

Does it bother you Gitana, that all the news seems focused on LA County, with the Mayor doing daily briefing. Meanwhile, no one from OC is informing us by way of briefings. Who the heck is in charge of OC? The Supervisors? Or is it each city is on their own?

Also half the 35 year old women in this country discovered sourdough baking this year (myself included)

U.K

Families may have to say goodbye to their dying loved ones over Skype as NHS bosses continue to look for ways to prevent the coronavirus spread.

Doctors have been told to restrict visitors in intensive care wards as best they can in new official guidance, which includes using "mobile devices and video calling" instead of seeing dying loved ones in person.

If the outbreak reaches the levels that are being predicted, clinicians will also have to stop "non-essential staff and any families or friends"entering clinical care areas.

Puyallup Police Department
Due to local cases of #COVID-19, PPD is asking all criminal activities and nefarious behavior to cease. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation in halting crime & thank all the criminals in advance. We will certainly let you know when you can resume your normal criminal behavior.

Until then.... #washyourhands & #behaveyourself

Could work out. And possibly crime could be reduced by coughing on anyone attempting it.

Last post of the day but before I go up to bed I want to share a little human interest story as others here are doing a fine job keeping us up on the latest news.

As I mentioned earlier my friend in the health department had a bad day today. We have another friend who lost his wife last month to suicide. He's also having a bad day.

The two of them are getting together to talk and have a beer - via FaceTime. During this trying time when so many people are stuck alone I want to remind all of you that using technology can be a wonderful way to reduce the anxiety and help us to feel less alone. We need to stay connected to friends and family.
