I AGREE.....HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM IN FL...

Dear Returning Canadians,
When being screened at the entrance to a hospital and asked, “Any international travel within past 14 day?” and you clearly have a recently acquired suntan, I suggest you say “yes”, turn around and leave.
Yours sincerely,
An observant hospital screener

NY....

One of my coworkers died today from #COVID19. Not much older, great guy. We were just sitting together a couple weeks ago, talking about whatever. The next time I saw him, he was admitted to the ICU. And that was the last time I saw him.
My whole body feels numb.

I deleted my original post, because when I first read your post, I thought you had written that personally. I do still sick to read those words...and you are dreadfully correct...we are going to hear a lot more of this.

First inmate in California's prison system tests positive for coronavirus

“The prisoner is at California State Prison, Los Angeles County, state corrections officials announced on Sunday night.

The officials also said that five prison workers have COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Two are at California State Prison, Sacramento, outside of Folsom; one is at Folsom State Prison; and two are at the California Institution for Men in Chino.”

South Carolina

There is a video included in the link of the press conference held yesterday which was serious and sobering in nature. A plea to my community.
‘Be a hero at home:’ Charleston County leaders urge people to take COVID-19 seriously
CHARLESTON, S.C. (WCSC) - If you don’t have an essential reason to go out, don’t. That’s the message delivered by leaders from across Charleston County at a Sunday afternoon news conference.

They made impassioned pleas to the public to stay home in an effort to save lives.

“Doctors tell us that the uncontrolled spread of coronavirus would be nothing less than a death sentence for thousands of our friends and family members, right here in the Lowcountry,” Charleston Mayor John Tecklenburg said.

I have a daughter in mount pleasant who works in a small deli type restaurant and they are staying open and doing orders. I am so worried for her because we know that there is a church right in our neighborhood here that has 2 positive cases, priests, who have come in contact with the parish beginning approx. March 5th. I suspect it is here for us and could be spreading so very quickly. I told my daughter to quit her job! of course she has a car payment and sky high rent- she is too loyal to her boss who I know is a good man, but not when it is on the back of my daughter. I only scare and terrify her with my dire predictions.
I am sheltering in place with my 78 yo mother.
I have another daughter in Las Vegas who I believe has this coronavirus-she was working in the casinos. She became ill last Wednesday and slept through 2 days straight and has had headache, runny nose, and dry cough still. She does not have transportation, and no medical coverage and doesn't want to go out to get tested. She is staying in and I warned her early in February about the covid19 and to prepare for the baby needs. I have a new grandson. He is 5 months old now.
I have seven children and 5 grandchildren. As you can imagine I am doing a lot of worrying and praying!
Have a good day all!

"Why are liquor stores considered "essential business"?

https://www.sacbee.com/news/coronavirus/article241384196.html

..."

JMO it's because the corner liquor store is also the market in poor neighborhoods. It is the only place to buy basic supplies and food like TP, milk, bread, soap, that is within walking distance for poor people without cars. They have to take a bus or two to get anywhere near a Walmart or a chain grocery.

Even small neighborhood stores are getting raided by coronavirus hoarders

Alcohol is also essential for alcoholics who very easily could die from detox if suddenly forced to do so. Our hospitals are too busy to add in medically detoxing alcoholics whose lives will be in great peril if liquor becomes unavailable.

Our cleaning lady just called and told us she will be working from home, She said she will send us instructions on what to do.

Perhaps passports should be required to be presented instead of drivers license.
