I know....haven't slept well for 2 months....I think back to Thanksgiving and Christmas.....it seems so long ago.I don’t think I got much sleep last night after waking up at 1am and learning about this “stimulus package”.

A true spirit you are!!! I do not know one person, personally, that would do this at all!!! And , IMHO, I do not think there are many people that would even consider this! I just want to say THANK YOU!I’m not sure how these one-time checks will work but it concerns me that there will be plenty of us who get them but don’t really need them. My dh and I probably fall into that category, thankfully, and we don't feel right viewing this money as a fun windfall and using it to buy a new “toy”when so many are struggling...although I suppose that’s the point of “economic stimulus.” But it still feels weird. I imagine others are in that position also. It would be nice to think of positive ways to use the money...
-Donate to local charities directly helping people...food bank, etc.
-Support local businesses (restaurants? hair dressers? etc) by buying gift certificates to use or give to friends.
-Divide the money (anonymously?) among friends who are struggling. (But if they receive low income benefits from social services, they will have to declare the gift and it might reduce their benefits like food stamps.)
-Buy food and other necessities for friends and/or strangers.
-Cover someone’s medical bill.

Doesn't everyone have access to employment insurance?
Thank you!Yesterday morning I thought I was going to take a break from making masks after this round because it’s all I’ve been doing for many days now and cutting the patterns gives me a back ache. Then mid-morning, a friend from the state I used to live in requested masks as well. I live on the border of two states now and have already been making masks for the nurses in both those states. But given the situation, how can I stop when nurses are begging for these?

Amidst all the news tracking, i want to add something for the lighter side to give us a smile. This is how an Oklahoma museum is handling the closure, it is such a nice idea in this hard times

This kind of stuff helps me, while still doing my best in practising social distancing (but calling friends and family frequently ), working from home, supporting locals etc.
Great work New Jersey! We are in the top five nationwide for social distancing! This IS WORKING. Keep doing your part and we will #FlattenTheCurve.

What colors are what? I'm trying to scroll through a shaded paywall.
I’m using mine for gift cards to give to my nail salon techs they are all working on a contractual basis, completely ineligible for UI. They all have children, idk how they will survive. Their monthly house/apt rental is probably around $12-1500.I feel the same way about not deserving it. My DH and I both receive Social Security and have savings. If we get the payments, we will redirect the funds to our local food pantry and to help others who need it more than we do.
