China has 1.3 billion people, and they never had a day like this! It's not about testing. China had hospital shortages, that we heard, and used triage to manage hospital bed overload.

I actually put baby lotion all over my hands last night and put clean white cotton socks on them and went to bed like that. My husband laughed for awhile...lol

Vaseline or Aquafor also work well. I've done this quite a few times, when my hands get really dry in the winter. Also on your feet with socks.

There is a nice coconut-baby-oil gel. In baby products aisle and skin lotion aisle. A few drops go a long way. I have lived in the desert for 13 years. Skin lotion just doesn't do the job. But a few drops of the oil-gel go a long way and it is economical

They are getting breakouts in the warehouses. Poor workers, bet they are paranoid going to work everyday. But by God, our pres says nothing to worry about. We can all be out and about again by Easter!
To be fair, I think he said he would like to achieve the goal of younger people returning to jobs in certain areas by Easter. He also said it isn’t written in stone and things change day to day.

I've washed my hands more in the last month than I have in my entire life, and, I mean, I was a relatively clean little kid.

Sorry if this is not allowed but I just needed to reach out. I have been granted the opportunity to work from home. This is truly a prayer that has been answered. My boyfriend has been living with me for about 3 years now. He does not want to stay quarantined. Last week I pleaded with him not to go to a friend's house to hangout. Well he did. I have a weakened immune system since I have had many times gotten very sick with bronchitis. Asking for prayers that he will listen to me. He left today again to run an errand. It has been over 6 hours. I know he is out drinking. Again sorry if this is not allowed. I just needed to tell someone.
My opinion, he needs to pack his bags and go live with these friends so that you are not endangered. Your life is worth more than this. You are worth more than this.

Is it your house? Might be time to say bye bye baby.

My nurse friend told me her hospital is and has always been out of things & had this been the flu not under control, the situation would be the same, her opinion, because the same patients would need treatment.
Trying to figure this out. The nurse is saying that patients 20 -40 yrs old would need same type of care if they had the flu? Recent reports coming back that it's not all old and unhealthy in critical condition. TIA

This needs to be bumped over and over. Never heard this until now. Thank You for the heads up.
Everyone needs to spread the word, but not the virus. ;)

Care home nurse tells of terrifying and sudden ways coronavirus struck her patients

(CNN) -- "The veteran registered nurse started her own mental checklist: cough, rapid breathing and the red eyes -- all the sickest patients seemed to have the red eyes."

"For Chelsey Earnest it was the eyes that became the single most important sign as she and other staff at the Life Care Center in Kirkland, Washington, struggled with the new coronavirus that was sweeping the nursing home even before it became feared across the country."

"It's something that I witnessed in all of them (the patients). They have, like... :oops:allergy eyes. The white part of the eye is not red. It's more like they have red eye shadow on the outside of their eyes," Earnest said."

One of our nurses recommended this several threads ago. Available on Amazon.

Medline Remedy Unscented Olivamine Skin Repair Cream, 4 Fluid Ounce

Price: $5.33 ($1.33 / Fl Oz)
Gosh, yes, we seem to have misplaced some early members. Hope they are all ok.

A couple months ago I bought white cotton gloves @ Amazon, cheap, I think there is 10 in a pack. I use them to clean the crystals on some chandeliers. But I suppose you could also try to wear them after putting on hand cream, Vaseline. My husband gets the worst red, irritated dry hands. I highly recommend the Aveeno Eczema Therapy line.
Pharmacies used to carry white gloves regularly. Now, it’s rare and you will occasionally find them on an end cap somewhere. They are a necessity for people with eczema.

Well, OK, but extreme.

Her opinion. I’m not a nurse.

This is an awesome step! My husband (who is considered an "essential" worker, he does maintenance for apartments and rental houses) said weeks ago that offices, grocery stores, and other places should install these...it would cut down on a lot of germs being passed back and forth.

Someone I know went to a pot shop a couple weeks ago. They already had tape set up with six foot marks.

At the Pavilions super market in Newport Beach (rich area), they have the cashiers behind plexiglass already. And all have masks and gloves.

I hear ya! Husband has started spraying all foods purchased at the local grocery store with a homemade spray solution of 99% alcohol diluted with water - 3 parts alcohol to one part water which gives you 75%. If you have 70% alcohol use it full strength.

Back in the day when I worked in a hospital we would regularly clean the stainless sinks with alcohol. I'm also a big believer in bleach/water sterilizers. I like the alcohol better as it evaporates but either works.

And yes, he sprays all food items. Not shoes at this point. He has abandoned using our own bags even though our town has banned plastic and charges for paper bags. His reasoning is that it's easier to dispose of the paper bags than disinfecting our cloth ones each time. And of course he uses hand sanitizer at the store and immediately washes his hands when he gets home.

I hope one of the habits we'll all develop from the virus is the importance of washing our hands.
We are doing something similar. When groceries are delivered, they leave them at the garage door. Then we put gloves on, and all items which don't require refrigeration, are put on a table in the garage for a few days. Items which require refrigeration, are sprayed with alcohol and then put into the refrigerator.
