Imo. Grocery stores will have less after today.
Our grocery stores are low on several things, but certainly not nearly empty with lines around the block.
Yes I would definitely go now then if I were you. Mine is a lost cause since two days ago. Cops are everywhere trying to spread out the line and keep peace. Even though there are buying limits if you are not toward the front of the line you can’t get any essentials. Ugh. I’m lucky I’m in pretty decent shape food and supply wise, but I feel for people in my town who are only able to stock up a little at a time. They’re out of luck now. And my area/state hasn’t even been hit as hard as others!

The stores are getting ugly according to my friends. Hugs to you all because we all need to buckle up because it will get more dire each day. :(

From what I've read, there is nothing going to be in any stimulus package that covers independent contractors, gig-workers, people whose previous unemployment has run out and who have been searching for work, anyone who did not file a tax return in 2018, and anyone whose 2018 pay was below a certain amount (I believe the cutoff for no funds was in the $2,000-3,000 range). Homeless people will not get funds. In short, only people who made over a certain amount with a filed tax return in 2018 with a w-2 (not a 1099) will qualify. Also, for many restaurant servers, it won't cover their loss of tips.

Just what I've read. I'm an independent contractor writer who knows a ton of fellow writers and other gig-workers who have no idea what we'll do. And no, in California, independent contractors and gig-workers are not covered by unemployment insurance at all.

Gig and independent contractors are covered under the new coronavirus leave act: Who Qualifies for Paid Leave Under the New Coronavirus Law

That other one has not passed yet- lord knows what changes they will make. Bailing out the cruise lines is shameful, imo. This new one should be for the american people and small business only. They can draft a big business act later- if at all.

Oregon coast communities are seeing cases pop up for the first time now since so many ppl flocked to the beaches last weekend. How selfish for ppl to do that!

People are getting ugly, too. I fear there will soon be a shootout in a large box store. Moo

Schumer office said he has secured a provision in the agreement that will prohibit “businesses controlled by the President, Vice President, Members of Congress, and heads of Executive Departments from receiving loans or investments from Treasury programs.”

The children, spouses and in-laws of the aforementioned principals are also included in this prohibition.

Oregon should have stepped up. New Jersey shut that down last week. The governor warned people not come to their second homes along the jersey shore and closed most beaches here.

Great work New Jersey! We are in the top five nationwide for social distancing! This IS WORKING. Keep doing your part and we will #FlattenTheCurve.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/technology/2020/03/24/social-distancing-maps-cellphone-location/

Governor Phil Murphy

The problem with this map, is that it tracks distance driving as the data. Wyoming is the worst, according to this data, not realizing that people may have to drive two hours or more to get to town for stocking up on items.

Clark County Health Department

Contact your county health department. Support their efforts!

Mine is working the phones, still getting those PPEs!

I am done trying to say the same thing here when people point fingers at NY and NJ.

Ask your governors to start mass testing!!

Just because figures in your state are low does not mean the virus isn’t running rampant.

ITA - the world governments have been three steps behind this thing since the beginning. I think the issue of probably getting out of hand everywhere, but a lot of focus is being placed on the areas with the biggest problems. IMO - this virus will stay three steps ahead of everyone because we’re too far behind.

Gov Cuomo:

140,000 cases coming into hospitals

40,000 ICU cases coming into hospitals- meaning a bed w/ a vent

Amidst all the news tracking, i want to add something for the lighter side to give us a smile. This is how an Oklahoma museum is handling the closure, it is such a nice idea in this hard times
Cowboy Museum Puts Their Head Of Security In Charge Of Their Twitter, And His Tweets Are Hilariously Wholesome

This kind of stuff helps me, while still doing my best in practising social distancing (but calling friends and family frequently ), working from home, supporting locals etc.
Thanks for posting this! I really, really like this guy.

A heads up for Netflix users: They have throttled the download speed. We downgraded our account to 'standard' to match the available streaming rate. Don't want to pay for speed we can't get.
