I’m so afraid for Louisiana. Their stats are startling. Then, where does it land next, that’s the million dollar question. Moo
Nice to see you. At the end of the last thread, there were links to the KY coronavirus party. I thought of you and all your frustrated posts about bad behavior where you live - it's just unbelievable!

Here people have been really great about social distancing. It's eerily quiet, everyone home by dark, no traffic, cops must be bored. I think a lot of moms are terrified and keeping the children huddled in their houses except for the daily walk.

A treat for Jackson Browne fans like me...or for anyone...to enjoy...

Shortly after testing positive for COVID-19, Jackson Browne dropped a new song, “A Little Soon to Say.” The track will be available digitally on Friday, March 27th, and is featured on his upcoming album, slated for October 9th.

“I wanna see you holding out your light/I wanna see you light the way,” he sings over a subtle, sparkling arrangement. “But whether everything will be alright/It’s just a little soon to say.”

“A Little Soon to Say” was actually written prior to the coronavirus pandemic, but Browne thought it appropriate to release now. “I thought, ‘Just do that now,’ ” he tells Rolling Stone. “Just put it out now while these things are so uncertain.”

So sorry to hear he has the virus, hope he's feeling better soon. Love the song, have always been a big fan of Jackson's.

@Trudie everything will be back to Normal by Easter. Everyone will go back to work. We can attend church.

April 13, 2020, this whole situation will just be a bad dream. Of course.
We REALLY need a sarcasm font :p

I am a huge Jackson Browne fan. This song is really really good and so appropriate for the times we are in right now.

Glad to meet another Jackson Browne fan! I love this song. I’m so glad he decided to release it...the day after he tested positive for COVID-19.

@SandyQLS I think it was 10 or more days ago a friend had to go to Applebee’s to get chicken for his sick dog. A few drunken jocks at the bar thought spitting and coughing at/on each other was humorous. I called the restaurant, I spoke with the not much older manager that was not at all concerned........
These things are not isolated, imo.
I feel like 2/3 of everyone in stores are positive but don’t care. Some would not want a test (if offered) because they fear isolation. Moo

I was out for another run today. Again seen lots of runners and cyclists. And everyone kept their distance! There is something nice about seeing so many use the park for exercise now. But obviously it's in terrible circumstances.
I also did some exercises at home, some sit ups, press ups, squats and lunges.
I really need to get a good routine on the go as won't be at the gym for a long time. I have my yoga mat but haven't did a sesh myself yet, I normally go to a class. But that is something I can do at home.
I know some if you may think this is trivial but exercise is really important for my well-being and lots of other people I'm sure.
What is everyone else doing exercise wise during all this?
I now have the world's strongest "scroll and roll" mouse right pointer finger.............moo

Remember the Louisiana pastor who defied the governor's order not to hold gatherings larger than 50 people?

He held services again on Sunday, and he plans to do so yet again on Tuesday night

Louisiana pastor defies governor's orders not to hold large gatherings -- again - CNN

SMH.... Maybe people didn't show up, but who knows
I'm assuming he passes the collection plate at these large services, and relies on his willing flock for revenue - the more the richer he is.

I think that there should be some legal way to stop this.

If hairdressers, and cooks, and restaurant servers and bar keepers, and parking attendants, and couriers, and store stockers, and tailors, etc etc etc can't work to save the public from exposure, this guy certainly shouldn't be able to keep holding large group attendances.

From NJ Governor Murphy:

BREAKING: I just signed an Executive Order requiring child care centers to close by April 1st UNLESS they are solely serving children of essential workers.

While essential workers commit themselves to our New Jersey family, we will commit ourselves to protecting their families.

Governor Phil Murphy

I guess there are a few Jackson Browne fans here! It’s ironic that he probably was infected doing a benefit concert in NYC. He’s always so generous about doing benefits. He’s looked frail to me in photos recently...or maybe I’m not used to seeing his gray 71 year old self. But I hope his case continues to be mild. I’m not ready to lose him! Or anyone else, for that matter!

For the life of me I can not imagine why anyone would attend? Sounds like the minister has a strong hold over his congregation. Moo.

And the residents are literally begging our inept governor to DO SOMETHING to help stop the spread. (IMO)

It is mind boggling.

Thankfully, my mayor has enacted a shelter in place but many county residents are still coming here to shop etc.

We are up to 377 cases and 2 deaths as of today.
If every person would think of saving their own life, it’d help. Be selfish, decide “I want to live.” Then maybe more would stay home. Moo

Quoting myself, think maybe Mississippi should tighten up? They do border Louisiana, correct? (Geography is not my strong point). Maybe he thinks if Louisiana cases spread, which is likely, they will go the other way?

You are correct in that Mississippi and LA border each other. Who knows what the “governor” is thinking. Oh, he is holding prayer on FB, which is great, but faith without works is dead.

Oh! And i just see he made a new FB post calling the article you previously posted, “left wing liberal lies”. That’s my state! (Huge eye roll)

Wow, I thought NJ already closed child care facilities. KY closed all ours last week, except for non essential workers children.
A most unpopular decision for some parents that can’t stand their kids, moo.

Louisiana is bordered by Mississippi to the east, Texas to the west, and Arkansas to the north. That <modsnip>preacher now has enraged so many people that there’s a petition to shut him down. I would have thought that our governor would have done that already.
