The problem with this map, is that it tracks distance driving as the data. Wyoming is the worst, according to this data, not realizing that people may have to drive two hours or more to get to town for stocking up on items.
ITA My immediate impression same as yours.

Thanks for local comments re: shopping problems on p.14. Every evening I see the grocery parking lots are full, but I haven't been in a store myself for 18 days now. Maybe I will stop and observe carts later. I don't think we have shortages here except the continuing problem of TP, hand sanitizer, water bottles, disinfectants, that started 3 weeks ago. People here are calm and scared.

Basically, we’re all screwed. Is it even safe to grab a candy bar out of a box from a convenient store? Sure. Just bring it home first, wash your hands, sanitize candy wrapper & enjoy......

Pensioner, 72, found dead in holiday park pond 'drowned himself after testing positive for coronavirus'

Pensioner, 72, 'drowned himself at holiday park after testing positive for coronavirus' | Daily Mail Online

This news is very sad.

This is why i dislike the daily mail

A source said that among theories being considered was that the man's death could have been a tragic accident,

Police refused to comment on suggestions his death was related to Covid-19.

So basically there is no evidence confirming it even had anything to do with covid-19, Their headline is extremely clickbait and misleading.

Same here, in KY. Thankfully this happened before Thunder over Louisville, Oaks & Derby, which brings out hundreds of thousands as well as block gatherings/parties.
I hope bordering states to LA prepare for what might happen.

I'm glad they had the foresight to postpone all that. It wouldn't surprise me if people don't have their own Thunder parties anyway. Jmo

Go figure! They haven’t taken cell phone tracking off the table as part of trying contain the spread, but release a homeless man to the streets. I’m scratching my head

We have the capability to isolate at risk individuals. When Canada sent planes to China to bring back our citizens and permanent resident status people, they were quarantined at the Trenton Airforce Base. Why can’t we do this again. Certainly the homeless, infected with this disease, would appreciate a warm comfortable bed and some nutritious meals. Ughhh!!

I did my home inventory today for paper products. Then wiped down the front door handle and the mailbox handle.
I did do a check on Amazon paper products availability, but will put off the order for the time being.

I went grocery shopping on Monday to 2 stores because my delivery was missing many items including paper products. There wasn’t any toilet paper at the stores but I did find paper towels. I never thought I’d have to resort to cutting the roll in half to fit the TP holder but the time for that will soon come. :(

Re: Marci Gras, we know from previous reports the virus lived for 17 days on vacated ship. No reason to think hotel rooms are any dif. So anyone checking in after MG will contract it, IMO. We can assume hotel rooms are not disinfected, especially during high occupancy/turn over & back to back checkouts/Ins.

Sensational headline

Stay at home means that you can still go out to the bank and grocery stores.

If we don't post stuff with sensational headlines, we wouldn't be even close to thread #36.

Oh, KY is party central. Even “corona parties”.
Halting the SEC and cancelling Madness left many resorting to creating their own March Madness. Soon, we will get accurate stats, maybe then people will be more inclined to heed directives, idk. Some have the “god ole boy” attitude, this is my house, nobody can tell me what to do. I know a rural farm store near me that can allow drinking in the store has turned into a huge gathering place.

Was able to score TP at the local Wal-Mart. After a kid threw up two times, during Senior hour. The manager told me they receive TP everyday in small quantities about two pallets. It's usually during the day. He told me to come around 11:30, sure enough, two pallets rolled out of the doors. They had a variety, some Wal-Mart, Angel Soft 8 packs and Charmin 14 double rolls. I was happy they had the 4 for .88 for those they can't afford much.

Seems the best time is during midday to afternoon, weekdays.

Same thing I was thinking. Are these China figures really realistic?

Population of China is 1.38 Billion and their reported cases are: 81,218.

Population of U.S. is 327.17 Million and our reported cases are: 55,200.

Is something wrong here?

I don’t believe the figures they report are even close.
Has this already been posted here? Though a bit hard to watch the videos are worth watching, imo. They’re also available on YouTube but it’s not allowed here.

“These days, friends online have been expressing concern about me because I’m going in and out, right? But now you’re taking videos of the real situation in the hospitals and putting it out there, right? So that everyone can see.” said Fang Bin, “Now, we want the people to help themselves, right? Now, how do we get people to save themselves? They have to help each other to save themselves.”

The situation, according to Fang Bin, was completely “man-made.”

“Lawyer Chen Quishi is missing.” he said, “My WeChat account has been shut down. Our friends are very anxious about whether Wuhan authorities will come to find me.”

A few days later, Fang Bin disappeared.

Honk honk. Honk honk. I’ve been hearing it all day around my tight-knit little neighborhood. Parents are driving their kids around the neighborhood to wave at their friends one last time before the “you can’t step off your front lawn” rule goes into effect tonight without a special permit. Children are pulling up their blinds to wave. Standing on their front porch. This neighborhood densely packed with children has been hit hard. Our school, my school, my kids’ school, my granddaughters’ school was flattened by the tornado of May 20, 2013. Seven children died that day in this little school only blocks from me. We’ve rebuilt the school, the neighborhood, our homes, our families and one another. Resilience is also contagious. Let it spread and be said. Sprinkle kindness from your bed. Don’t keep it in your head.
