I believe it was @Snoods that mentioned hearing this interview earlier. I found the video interview, and it is as Snoods posted, the NY physician states clearly they have enough ventilators.

I don’t get it, what’s going on?

Doctors on frontlines of coronavirus battle
I guess it all depends on how many patients they are expecting that would need ventilators. That physician stated "we have hundreds of ventilators available." Well, i you expect 30,000 patients needing ventilators, having hundreds available isn't going to be enough.

Lol, I’m almost afraid to eat. The longer my food lasts, the longer I can avoid stores.
Getting one loaf of bread nearly caused me a panic attack.
Be good to yourself. . . buy two loaves and freeze one of them. Perfect when toasted! IMO

SOUTH CAROLINA

So not only will our governor not issue a statewide stay-at-home order, our state's Attorney General Alan Wilson says that South Carolina cities do not have the authority to issue their own. Both Charleston and Columbia have enacted their own stay-at-home ordinances. AG Wilson says "local governments could face legal action if they enact and enforce such stay-at-home orders."

I was reading about cases #5&6 in a tiny California county, because I have friends there, and was horrified to read (on page 2) that they are apparently being asked to test only those sick enough to need hospitalization. I don't know if this is new or has been California's approach all along, but -- ugh!
I thought this was the norm’? The first KY patient (27yo F) nearly died, ended up life flighted & intubated, after presenting at her rural hospital/doctor/clinic 4X. Despite being desperately ill, she wasn’t ill enough & had not traveled. Linked previously.

Well, I sanitized my loaf of bread & left it on my covered porch coffee table. I just heard an odd sound so I rushed out to see what the heck was going on. I got out just in time to see the neighborhood thief (large German shep’) trotting away with my bread. My fault.
Next time, hang it from a tree in a squirrel-proof container. ;)

I've got lots of friends in Colombia, many in LE. Let the Governor try to stop them from a stay at home order!!! They got a lot of them there "old southern boys".

We got the same problem with the VA Governor. He refuses to close Liberty University. He quoted scripture to Jerry Farwell, JR. Governor says he can't close the school, but can close beauty shops and game room. I'm just not getting his interpretation of VA Code or Constitution. Yeah, I've been a reading.
Moo...

NYC

"I spoke with @elonmusk late last night. He’s donating hundreds of ventilators to New York City and State, including our public hospitals. We’re deeply grateful. We need every ventilator we can get our hands on these next few weeks to save lives."

People, don't leave food outside unless you have a garage you can close shut.
LOL.

Same here, luckily. My SO is an ornery gelding currently saddled & tied, learning what it means to be “tied”.
My circle of friends is probably safer than most because they rarely see civilization, lol. Drive in booze stores & TSC is about it. They have freezers filled with steaks & greenhouse produce. I worry more about their dogs biting or their horse kicking me than contracting Covid from one.
My anxiety is self induced, but only when I must go to the grocery. Schwan’s will be here next Wednesday, if I’m alive I’ll get a few more things.
Another thing to add to my "Who Woulda Thought" List:

Who woulda thought that being a homebody/introvert would save lives. . . possibly even your own?

Since being allowed to work from home last week, it occurred to me that, even Pre-Covid, (with the exception of leaving my home in the morning for work and returning in the evening), I really don't get out all that much! So, in my case, the "stay home" orders haven't caused the same type of anxiety that others are having to deal with.
Keep in mind, I don't have kids or a significant other at the moment to add to my "worry about" list. That said, I have all sorts of anxiety, (most of the time) about many things that most people wouldn't think twice about. IMO

Another cool thing from the early days in Wuhan was a smart lady who rigged her toy car to go get buns from the store.

Had to google that too! Found it! Here's one:

The Department of Health rejected high-level medical advice about providing NHS staff with certain protective equipment during an influenza pandemic because stockpiling it would be too expensive, the Guardian can reveal.

Documents show that officials working under former health secretary Jeremy Hunt told medical advisers three years ago to “reconsider” a formal recommendation that eye protection should be provided to all healthcare professionals who have close contact with pandemic influenza patients.

The expert advice was watered down after an “economic assessment” found a medical recommendation about providing visors or safety glasses to all hospital, ambulance and social care staff who have close contact with pandemic influenza patients would “substantially increase” the costs of stockpiling.

The documents may help explain a devastating shortage of protective gear in the NHS that is hampering efforts by medical staff to manage the Covid-19 virus pandemic.

Advice on protective gear for NHS staff was rejected owing to cost

Too expensive??! Imagine the cost to health personnel, and WTH are they going to do if several generations of health providers lose their lives? Expense to society is not limited to money!

A friend in NC posted a sign from Walmart...“Bread is located in layaway behind electronics.” Sure enough, she had to go to layaway and get one measly random loaf. They had three loaves left!
