Can you stay out of the public now, or must you venture out?

I have been self-isolating for a week now, took a walk on the beach Saturday and went to the grocery store and Dollar General on Monday to stock up on a month's supply. I have another grocery delivery tomorrow from PeaPod for milk and fresh fruit and veggies to replenish Monday's supply and a scheduled delivery on Tuesday from ShopRite for same. I am planning on grocery delivery each week for refrigerator items and milk (waking up in the middle of the night to snag a slot).

I miss my WaWa iced coffee! :(

My dear.......watch what they do, not what they say....
I guess I am too dense to understand the correlation.

I was speaking of recent patients who claim they were given the drug when they were severely ill, and recovered quickly. And they attribute their recovery to the drug.

A few cases have been posted here already.

What is it they 'do', that I am supposed to be watching?

Hopefully what you receive is actually what you ordered.
Lol your brain will soon forget about WaWa iced coffee.

The patients who took the meds and died aren't available for comment.

You have tomorrow & you did make it to WMT, so all is not lost.
I think I am going to back off watching the number of cases. I already have depression issues and I feel like I am sinking back into the black hole.

Today, I did not take my pups for their daily walk, swimming in the creek and car ride because the black hole was pulling me in. It was a gorgeous day , 80 degrees and Sunny.

SOUTHERN OREGON (@kodi and others who live here)

I posted earlier today local news that the Oregon Shakespeare Festival has laid off 80% of its 500 employees, about 400. We have made the New York Times now...a dubious distinction but worth noting what a big deal this is (link sent to me by my friend halfway around the world in Timor Leste who grew up here.). Some may wonder why the closing of a theatre is a big deal. I used to work there and know many employees who are affected, so it’s a big deal personally. :( But also, this is a town of about 22,000 and OSF is one of its largest employers and brings about 400,000 visitors to town. So the trickle down impact on small businesses and the atmosphere of the town is huge. This is being repeated in other theatre towns around the country, not just in Ashland. And we’re not even talking about people dying....

From the link:

“We’re trying to make sure we have enough cash to regroup and come back,” said Nataki Garrett, the artistic director of the festival, which in ordinary seasons has about 800 performances attended by about 400,000 people. “Without money coming in from ticket sales for current shows or future shows, we have to say we have this much cash, and it will last us this long.”
<snip>

The Oregon Shakespeare Festival, founded in 1935, won the regional theater Tony Award in 1983 and presents contemporary work as well as classics; the festival has helped develop several shows that ultimately landed on Broadway, including the Pulitzer-winning “Sweat” and the Tony-winning “All the Way.”

The festival, which has three theaters, has a particularly long season, running eight months of the year in Ashland, a Rogue Valley city just north of the California border. The city is heavily dependent on tourism — visitors to the festival sustain a number of hotels, restaurants and shops — and has had a rough few years because smoke from wildfires in the Northwest has forced the cancellation of some outdoor performances and deterred some travelers.

Spring Culture Fell to Virus. In Oregon, Summer Theater Now Succumbs.

Oh no - hang in there! I struggle but a walk on a sunny day is the most consistent thing that helps. And you have puppies AND a creek? I'm coming to visit!

If WaWa is like a gas station, go back and read Trudie's post about gas station coffee. I used to think Mapco had the best Hazelnut coffee and they probably do, but Trudie opened my eyes to coffee patrons at gas stations. You cannot be weak stomached to read Trudie's post.

@Trudie my husband is over 80, with several health issues. For him, it is "when" and "how". Not a question of "if". Not unlike most people his age.

A friend said she’s feeling lethargic, like she has no urgency to follow her normal routine. I think because we have no end date, she is in a rut and puts off doing today what she can do tomorrow, the next, or two days from now.

You are welcome anytime. I live on 55 acres and deer are my neighbors. Now, I feel horrible guilt for neglecting my pups their daily joy.

BRAZIL....sound familiar...

Brazil's governors have issued a joint letter to President Bolsonaro begging him to listen to health experts and help states contain the virus. #CoronavirusPoliticsDaily Coronavirus Politics Daily: Bolsonaro vs govs, Wuhan ashes vs statistics, US states vs each other
ian bremmer on Twitter

"Ashes to ashes for Wuhan's official death toll

But as images of thousands of cremation urns flooded social media, many began to question the official government narrative, which puts Wuhan's coronavirus death toll at just 2,535."

And I bet they can make you feel even guiltier, lol.
Tomorrow give them twice the fun.
Think how happy many dogs must be having their loved ones home, lol. Once people begin returning to work, dogs won’t be so happy.

Sounds wonderful - I really hope you get out tomorrow to enjoy it!

The patients who took the meds and died aren't available for comment.
True, but did they die from the meds?

From my understanding, they are giving it to patients who are already severely ill, and having difficulty breathing.

Dying from pneumonia is drowning on your own fluids. You’re gasping for breath and unable to breathe as your organs shut down. It’s probably one of the most painful and horrific ways to die.

My sister was the administrator of an old age home in Cambridge UK. She said pneumonia was nicknamed the old man's friend because many who died from it didn't suffer like that.

My dad had hyperkyphosis which causes an extreme curvature of the spine in old age. It made it difficult for him to get full breaths. He eventually died of pneumonia probably from aspirating food into the lungs.

The doctor at the hospice used a tennis ball to show me what would happen at end of life. She dropped the ball from shoulder height and it bounced but every bounce was less than the one before until it just stopped. Which is what exactly happened. His chest rose with each breath but every one would be less than the one before. I know what this phrase means now, 'waiting to exhale', because finally he just didn't. I don't think my dad suffered the way you illustrated.

Sad story, I know, but my dad was 94 and he had an impish sense of humour. He was sharp as a tack but hadn't driven for years because the curvature of spine compromised his ability to look out the window. But every now and then to get my goat on some of our weekly drives, he abruptly say, "I think I'm going to get my license again" just to see me lose it.

All i can think about today is all these medical professionals who are at war for us. They will undoubtedly suffer from PTSD for a long time. Our country will suffer from the way we have handled this for generations. <modsnip: Political coments are not allowed>

There was an early an early China documentary where medical workers were freaking the heck out.
I seem to remember one young lady crying and screaming I can’t take it anymore...I also seem to recall a young male worker very upset about all the bodies in plain view...
