I believe our Massachusetts CVS test site is first responder (And maybe medical workers) only Which is of course much needed but it’s not like anyone can drive up and get tested
CVS said its nurses are administering about 200 tests a day in a store parking lot in Shrewsbury, Mass., and it has appointments scheduled through next week.

WATCH WHAT THEY DO NOT WHAT THEY SAY

"2 weeks ago, @realDonaldTrump promised drive-thru #COVID19 testing sites where people could be tested “very safely, quickly and conveniently.”
Target, Walgreens, Walmart and CVS have a combined 26,400 US stores.
*Only 5* drive-thru sites are open."

AUSTRALIA

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - Australia stepped up enforcement of social distancing rules on Saturday to contain community transmission of the novel coronavirus, implementing fines, closing beaches and threatening stricter measures if people defy pleas to stay at home.

The country's total number of confirmed coronavirus cases jumped by 469 to 3,635 on Saturday, the federal health ministry said, from less than 100 at the start of March. The case number has leapt about 30% since Thursday, with most infections in NSW and Victoria states.

As of midnight on Saturday, all returning citizens from abroad will be put into compulsory quarantine in hotels for two weeks at the government's expense. Military personnel will help ensure travelers comply with the new rules.

"Estimates now suggest that 99% of people infected with the virus that causes COVID-19 will recover."

Is there any good news about the coronavirus pandemic? - Harvard Health Blog

...ummmm, I would believe near that as I saw those curves.. but ONLY if they have 100% excellent health care. Yet the numbers may go up when only the elderly are getting hit. Not in the situation the world is in with potentially overwhelmed health care systems.

I'm :fence: as to if some world leaders are focusing on shutting on/off the spigot to get herd immunity going?

Coronavirus: Council workers 'spat on and sworn at' amid pandemic outbreak

Coronavirus: Council workers 'spat on and sworn at' amid pandemic outbreak
A spate of attacks following the coronavirus outbreak has left one council worker with a broken leg.

Council workers are facing "sickening physical and verbal assaults" as they implement social distancing measures, according to the Local Government Association (LGA).

As coronavirus continues to spread, the LGA, which represents councils in England and Wales, say they are becoming increasingly concerned about their staff.

INDIA

On Friday, in a press briefing, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that his administration is equipped to handle 100 Covid-19 cases in a day. He said that the Delhi government is now working on the plan to tackle stage 3 of Covid-19 outbreak.

“At present, things are under control, but in case it slips out of hand where the number of cases increases exponentially, we have to be ready with all the arrangements. The 5-member committee of doctors – which was set up to give us an action plan that would kick in if the city enters stage 3 of the coronavirus spread – has submitted its report,” he said.

The Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Ministry of Health as well as members of Covid-19 task force maintain that the community transmission of coronavirus is not happening at the moment, however, preparations to tackle such a situation have already begun.

I wonder where the safest place on the planet is right now. I would have guessed a place like Iceland or Alaska, where it is cold and remote.

Antarctica ;)

Yea, we really need to separate non-covid patients from covid patients. Rapid tests are sure going to be handy for that.
