This virus is like the “gift” that keeps on giving, from anywhere to anywhere; anyone to anyone. Instead of blaming a single source, state or country (going all the way back to China on this one, and cruise ships) it surely would be more productive to accept every state has it, every state’s number will increase with testing, and the low numbers in some areas are not solely due to lack of infection.
MOO

Remember, we are ALL in this together.

The blaming and finger pointing is getting out of hand. I can't call and order delivery of my favorite Chinese restaurant anymore because they (and many other mom-and-pop Chinese food delivery restaurants in my area) have gone out of business because of the "china virus".

It's called "freedom of movement" in the US constitution..

Freedom of movement under United States law - Wikipedia
Well...I know, but I feel like the govs could reach some sort of "gentleman/woman's" agreement to post a few national guardspeople at points of exit/entry. If people are traveling for no good reason from an epicenter and causing angst in a neighboring state, there's some room for etiquette and cooperation amongst leaders, do I dare dream? Does it always have to come down to drama?

Pennsylvania:

Immigration detainees in PA start hunger strike demanding release amid coronavirus pandemic

For Pennsylvania’s Amish, the coronavirus and the call for social distancing are a challenge
“A couple of weeks ago, I spoke to about 30 Amish families [about coronavirus] and there was a great degree of skepticism about it,” said Phil Lapp, a Mennonite who grew up among the Amish in Lancaster County. “Over the past couple of days, though, I would say a majority are adhering to the call to stay home, but 10 to 20% are extremely upset about the outside world impacting their livelihood.”

Lehigh Valley deaths at 7, as 533 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths reported in Pennsylvania (3/28/20)

"Dr. Zelenko said the whole treatment costs only $20 over a period of 5 days with 100% success. He defines success as “Not to die.”

Dr. Vladimir Zelenko has now treated 699 coronavirus patients with 100% success using Hydroxychloroquine Sulfate, Zinc and Z-Pak [UPDATES] | Tech News | Startups News
Sounds like he is treating people who don't have the need to be in the hospital. Vast majority of covid patients don't die even without these treatments so again it's hard to say if this treatment is having an actual effect. It also sounds like not all of the patients even tested positive for covid, because the tests were taking too long and he wants to start treatment as soon as possible. That said, I've heard long ago to take zync lozenges.

UK

  • The peak of the coronavirus is dependent on people’s actions and the lockdown will remain in place for a “significant period”, Michael Gove said (see 10.01am).
I can’t make an accurate prediction, but everyone does have to prepare for a significant period when these measures are still in place.
  • On his broadcast round, Gove appeared to lay the blame for the UK’s lack of mass testing on China, raising the prospect of increased diplomatic tension between the two countries. Asked why Britain did not have sufficient testing, despite the first case in China being known about in December, Gove said some of reporting from China was not clear about the scale of the disease. The move appears to be part of a concerted attempt from No 10 to shift responsibility for the pandemic, and the UK’s apparent inability to adequately respond, eastwards (see 11.16am).
  • The Cabinet Office minister did not provide any assurance as to when all health and social care staff – who number well over a million – would be tested. He simply told Sky’s Sophy Ridge on Sunday: “I hope that we will be able to test as many frontline workers at the earliest possible stage.”

Coronavirus update: Donald Trump, CDC travel advisory, NYPD deaths
Updated 11 minutes ago

“Chicago jail: 89 detainees, 12 officers test positive
Eighty-nine detainees at Chicago's Cook County jail have tested positive for COVID 19, and tests are pending on 92 more, Sheriff Thomas Dart announced. Nine inmates tested negative. Twelve sheriff's office employees also have tested positive, Dart said. The jail currently houses about 5,000 inmates, down more than 400 from a week ago because of efforts to free non-violent offenders and those near completion of their sentences. The first two positive cases were revealed Monday.”

“3 NYPD members die in 48 hours
A detective has become the third New York Police Department worker to die as a result of COVID-19 in two days. Detective Cedric Dixon was a 23-year veteran stationed in Harlem, NYPD Commissioner Dermot Shea said. Dennis Dickson, a custodian at police headquarters, died Thursday, and Administrative Assistant Giacomina Barr-Brown died Friday.

"We've lost three members of the NYPD family, Shea said. "Today we are all mourning and hurting together, as a family. When we emerge from this crisis, let us never forget the men and women who made the ultimate sacrifices.”

CHINA

"China is struggling with a durable zero. Appear to be having cryptic cases unlinked to known transmission chains in a few different provinces. Today in Henan. Closed borders to stop importations and 2nd domestic transmission. Reversed cinema openings."

Cuomo is right. U.S. citizens are free to move/travel from state to state. And they are :)

The only thing to stop that would be imposition of Martial law.

In a place like Communist China, the Chinese Communist Party can shut down an entire city, enforce the shutdown with the military, and create a situation where to attempt to leave a particular city or region will result in one's death.

That is not the type of system we live under in the U.S.

So for me, that means, the cat's outta the bag. There is no stopping the transmission of this virus in the U.S. and the move will likely be toward strengthening the medical community in terms of infrastructure, manpower, and supplies.

There’s a middle ground though, it doesn’t have to be one extreme or the other. In Australia domestic travel is stopped, and state borders are closed to all but essential travel. We are not communist and we won’t be killed.

German state finance minister Thomas Schäfer found dead | DW | 29.03.2020

“Police suspect Thomas Schäfer died by suicide after his body was found on train tracks near Wiesbaden. He was the finance minister for the state of Hesse, where Germany's financial center Frankfurt lies.”

[...]

“Bouffier also said that Schäfer had been living under considerable worry and stress because of the current COVID-19 pandemic.

"His main concern was whether he could manage to fulfill the huge expectations of the population, especially in terms of financial aid," Bouffier said on Sunday. "For him, there was clearly no way out. He was disappointed and so he had to leave us. That has shocked us, has shocked me."”

working in a jail/prison with inmate contact would be as terrifying as working the ER, maybe worse, inmates might be inclined to purposely infect their favorite guard. Moo
