Hold your head high, Capt. Brett Crozier. Think of the lives you saved. Another hero.

"The official reason for Crozier's relief of duty is a loss of trust and confidence, according to the officials who spoke to NBC News"
IMO official reason is B.S. What's the guy to do in the middle of an ocean? He did what was absolutely necessary.

@Alethea can the government force churches to close, or not? Our governor simply asked for compliance. I find conflicting info, and am eager for your professional opinion. Tysm
Our governor in Florida said he could not tell the churches to not attend.

Jared Kushner looks quite tired and his eyes concern me. They look similar to Chris Cuomo’s prior to his positive test. Jmo

No. It’s easy to criticize from the benefit of forewarning. You’ve been on this thread for a long time. You know as well as I do that the information has been there for a long time indicating we needed to shut down by at least mid-February.

We are well within our rights to criticize government for its huge failures to protect or even try to protect the population. At ALL levels on both sides of the aisle. Period.

These people should all be tasked with following world news and understanding the threats to their constituents. Every last one failed to some degree. Every governor. Every mayor. Every health department official.

And they did so despite information that was READILY available to them.

How on earth did websleuthers know more about what was happening and what was needed than government officials tasked with protecting the public?

Because we had @Henry2326.

I started ordering mine 3 weeks ago. Within a week most were sold out. Walmart, Rural King, Tractor Supply still have them if you're brave enough to venture into their stores. I've had to settle for whatever brand is available.

During his briefing today, Governor DeWine of Ohio and Lt. Gov Jon Husted said that they would be setting up some kind of tribunals in Ohio to adjudicate on issues related to why some businesses are closed down and others are not. They said that it will be a transparent process, but with no appeals. It seems that some businesses feel that they are similar to other stores/businesses that are allowed to stay open. Good to see that the government in Ohio wants to make this a fair and open process and that they will address each case individually that wants to do so, and will take into account size of store and other relevant factors in relation to safety related to COVID-19 and social distancing, etc.

I had to go out to the pharmacy today to pick up a prescription, glad it was drive-through and I didn't have to go in. But while driving on the rural highway I noticed today the wonderfully bright green fields of winter wheat, here in Ohio while lawns and other fields are still brown.

We eat a lot of tofu at our house, so consider soybean to be US produce. But I am sure we export a lot of soy? Lots of soy farmers in our neighborhood, rotate crops from corn to soy each year. Also winter wheat.

My City has a snitch line for those not in compliance with what Ontario has set out. Hospital here has also warned employees not to discuss lack of PPE, ok for now but......Our Nurse Daughter has been maintaining her own personal supply long ago, knowing what was coming. She has been sharing with our Therapist Son who also works at Hospital. So they are good for now. It has not exploded here yet. Key word yet.

As an ex of a former grower of soybeans & cotton who cannot find my usual beans, squash & cucumbers I’m alarmed. Can’t we put those fields into food we can all eat?

I never thought our country would go there. Never.

You might want to re-read the article. Like so many we have seen, it is a click-bait story.

The coronavirus death toll in the U.S. topped 5,000 on Thursday, according to NBC News' tally, and there were nearly 240,000 confirmed cases across the country. Globally, more than 1,000,000 people have tested posted and over 50,000 have died from COVID-19, according to Johns Hopkins University.

Officials across the country have continued tightening restrictions to try and slow the spread of the virus. Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis issued a stay-at-home order for the entire state after refusing to implement statewide social distancing guidelines, and the mayor of Los Angeles told everyone to start wearing masks.

In Spain, which has the world's third highest confirmed infection rate, the death toll topped 10,000 on Thursday.

Are you saying nothing has changed? I can see why these measures are being taken, but I'm not seeing the click-bait part. From the article:

Typically, if someone is in cardiac arrest, even if there's no blood flow, EMS units will perform CPR and other lifesaving measures while en route to the hospital. Now, with very limited exceptions, that's not to happen.

In response to the new mandate, the FDNY has issued an order to all its EMTs with additional guidelines. According to the order, which a senior FDNY official shared with NBC News, the mandate applies only to adult patients. If an adult patient has obvious signs of death like rigor or has a do not resuscitate order, EMTs will not try to revive the patient.

Millions of small businesses are anxiously awaiting their slices of a $350 billion relief program that forms part of the government's $2 trillion economic support package. However, with just hours to go before the launch, major banks are still awaiting guidance from the Treasury Department on how to lend the money — and some haven't even decided whether they will participate.

In a strongly worded statement, one of the nation's biggest lenders said the much-touted relief program for small business owners wasn't ready for prime time.

"Financial institutions like ours are still awaiting guidance from the SBA and the U.S. Treasury," Chase Bank said in an email to business customers, referring to the Small Business Administration. "As a result, Chase will most likely not be able to start accepting applications on Friday, April 3rd, as we had hoped."

The bank said it would post electronic updates on its website and Twitter account and send emails when it was ready to start participating.

At a White House news briefing Thursday afternoon, Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin maintained that the program is ready to go, and said he wasn't aware of the complaints. "We just put up the federal register with the new guidelines for lenders,” he said. “I've been assured that the banks will start lending tomorrow."

Banks warn of ‘utter chaos’ in new small business lending program
