I sold a car last week, the purchaser wanted to give me a personal check, and we had the notary issue, I used snail mail for title transfer, etc. I would not accept a personal check, so he’s bringing a cashier’s check this evening with a trailer to haul car. I just took my beloved car (family member) for a final cruise, and used the vacuum next to WMT. Kids all over the parking lot. A family using the vacuum about 8 from me consisted of mom/dad/2 teens and a 6-7 yo. Dad was vacuuming & detailing, mom & three kids walked over to WMT. Why? On my way home I went thru liquor store drive in. Lowe’s sidewalk area is filled with people buying flowers and plants, kids in tow.
Here’s my conclusion: nice weather will ultimately spread the virus like crazy because more & more people will disregard directives, as this goes on. Prior to Covid, I didn’t see a whole lot of people in WMT with kids that seemed to “enjoy” their children. Mostly what I heard was “shut up stop that, don’t, do you want a spanking, put that down, shut up I’m on the phone....”. So, I can only imagine what is going on now. The one salvation I guess is a lot of households will have much more money. I’m thinking of mom/dad both laid off from low paying jobs, each now getting UI + $1200, weekly. So a family that might have struggled on $1800 monthly now has $4800 plus state UI.
As I cruised home, I went thru a new upscale subdivision, just a normal pre Covid type day. I think very few kids are monitored and somewhere USA a pervert is cruising a hood. Idk why some people have kids......, never understood why. Moo

It's wrong for people to judge from what things appear to be. I guess if you saw me, you would be thinking and wondering why someone my age had a kid, maybe to get the extra $500.00 coming my way? In reality, I am raising someone else's kid, so the county wouldn't have to. I go to work each day for half a day, and my kid is left home alone with strict orders to never open the door, and never exit the door until I am home. I'd rather work than collect unemployment. And even though I probably didn't have to pay my rent this month, I did anyway, even though rent takes my entire 2 week paycheck, plus an additional $9.00. So we have to wait two more weeks to buy food, electricity, gas, etc. And when I get home from work, I have to change into teacher mode, and teach my kid what the school isn't. When they told us there would be online classroom, I spent an hour trying to find the classroom with a teacher's' face in that classroom, but in reality online classroom means they post a couple games for the students to do. No classroom, no teacher, but those games equal continued funding for the school. What a joke,.

Anyway, I too have seen people I object too, but I try to stop and remember, things are not always as they seem.

I made a post yesterday about the UK deaths and the fact that it may not be that CV19 is the actual cause of death but that the patient has CV19 which is a reportable disease. So the deaths are of people who had it when they died.
Then it should say died of "lung cancer" or "such and such" with Covid as a contributing factor. They died sooner because of Covid induced pneumonia so Covid should be listed in the statistics.

I don't think it's just Canada.. The DA, as the task force stated allows Customs to stop and seize any or all exports. Now that not saying, we won't take care of our Canadian neighbors.

Moo...

It's Canada and Latin America that are being threatened by the US. It means that shipments from China should now go directly to a Canadian port first to ensure that products designated for Canada arrive in Canada. Maybe Canada will steal all the shipments intended for the US too.

Talking about trade wars, our companies weren't just sending their normal amounts to other countries, they were selling a lot more as outbreak started to spread.
"The U.S. exported more than $1.7 million worth of surgical masks to China in January alone – more than double the previous January. In February, shipments surged to $15.8 million, the data show."
US exports of masks, PPE to China surged in early phase of coronavirus

I had a dream last night that we went grocery shopping. It turned into a nightmare with me not being able to find bags of spinach and people coughing and I was convinced we caught the virus.

I’m going to come out of this even nuttier than before.

I respect your opinion. My point is a family of four should not be in WMT. If they allow only 50 in, three can’t enter because 4, three being non-customers entered. I tend to believe what my eyes tell me, always have. What I see is a blatant disregard for human life. Moo moo moo

I’ve had things sit there for what seems like forever with no movement, then show up at my door in 2 days. o_O

Yes, all the time when shipping within the US but package tracking from China to the US has always been very detailed.

Every country has a duty of care to ensure their health professionals have effective and sufficient PPE. Healthy people do not need to be out and about with their whole family or wearing masks that could save nurses lives at the end of the day. This is going to get worse before it gets better peeps. Do not go out unless it is essential.

@Alethea avoid the spinach if you do shop, dreams come true.
What more can be done to get the country to follow directives? Arrests? Do you have any input? Tysm

How are packages handled in high rise buildings.
Are they dropped with the doorman?

The coronavirus death toll in Italy has climbed by 766 to 14,681, with infections reaching nearly 120,000, though the death and infection rates are continuing to slow.

Friday's figures, revealed by the Civil Protection Agency, are marginally higher than the daily tally of 760 fatalities registered a day earlier.

The number of new cases was slightly lower, growing by 4,585 from a previous 4,668, bringing total infections since the outbreak came to light to 119,827.

However, in positive news, today is the fifth consecutive day in which the number of new cases remained within a range of 4,050-4,782, confirming government hopes that the epidemic has hit a plateau, ahead of an expected decline in the near future

disagree emphatically but that discussion is way o/t
I figured you would disagree but that's ok. (I'm from UK farming community so know a little about what I am talking about.) It is not really OT if we believe what we are told about the origins of this virus. But I am not even sure that has actually yet been proved though. MOO

I don't understand all your criticism of the families. Assuming your car sale was truly necessary, you also describe:
- vacuaming out the car
- making a purchase of alcohol

In short, I think there is a temptation for all of us to define necessary as: Necessary adj: Things that I want to do are necessary. As I only want to do necessary things, everything I personally do is necessary.

@zecats I am very interested to know why your husband thinks so many people try to justify their actions. Why do so many think that they can congregate, attend church, walk in large groups, camp & have group bonfires, etc?

To be clear Dr. Gupta did say if a family completely isolated 14 days & want to get together with another family that followed the same protocol, it is probably safe. He was on CNN town hall last night.
