What I hear is the same ill behaved children pre-C19 and their out of the loop moms now monopolize the box stores. I’m fortunate, I can go days w/o food. And, I will, if need be. What I do not understand is a parent subjecting their child to Covid.

I've been meaning to ask - what is a "box store" ?

Um, I have to go to the Costco pharmacy to pick up my prescription. I don't have enough left for 2 weeks.

That's what I was thinking. If I die because I can't leave my house to get my bp meds refilled, will my death be one caused by Covid?

I feel you frustration at the online, curbside pickup issue.
I have tried all weekend with 4 different stores and no luck.
I will have to venture out tomorrow as our food supply is low and we need to re-stock. UGH
I dread going into any store right now but I do have my mask and gloves and will be wearing them along with cleansing all products going into the house when I get home.
Ive been hearing about people washing their clothes, shoes, purses also which I did not do the first time last month when I went shopping so will do that also plus jump in the shower.
Whatever it takes to keep safe.

I told my husband that I felt as if I was getting ready to diffuse a bomb or something.
Wipes, containers to dispose of shopping bags, and spray in car. Alcohol wipe for credit card. Gloves, mask. Change of gloves. Change of shoes on back deck, clean clothes in bathroom for a shower. I was so ready with a PLAN!
Got halfway there and realized I’d have to turn back. Forgot the credit card...

“The next two weeks are extraordinarily important,” White House coronavirusresponse coordinator Deborah Birx said Saturday at a press conference. “This is the moment to not be going to the grocery store, not going to the pharmacy, but doing everything you can to keep your family and your friends safe.””

I still cannot believe the people who are walking into Walmart, Target, and grocery stores. The parking lots are full. They come out from the department stores pushing carts full of merchandise. Do they think they are immune? Do they not have friends and relatives who are in high risk groups?

I drive past these stores several times a day because I take care of an older couple a few miles from my home. I am extra careful to avoid all contact with everyone because this couple is definitely high risk. I am either at my house or their house, and I get our groceries and theirs using no-contact pick up at Kroger or Walmart. And the elderly couple does not leave their house at all.

You might remember me pointing out that nurse in the initial cases saying Red Eyes were a symptom she noticed. She described the redness around the eyes. Now, in the news, they are reporting Pink Eye. It seems we need to protect our eyes, too. Contact lens wearers need to be so careful, maybe switch to glasses for now.

Only signs are hanging outside.... Nothing on the floors. But I have seen many on here post about their stores marking the floors, and I think that is a great idea that would help people maybe pay attention better.

Sorry, the surgeon general's Pearl Harbor analogy is ridiculous; the attack at Pearl was a sneak attack -- no warnings. Covid? We knew quite well in January that the disease was coming and of the need to act.

Not to mention that we did have warnings about PH and 9/11 and yes, government knew, along with most citizens back in January about COVID-19.

That is the exact description. Thinking of Walmart, Target, Lowes, Home depot. Few doors and few windows and are all over the place.

I, too, need to pick up a prescription. Stopped wearing makeup for now. I cover my hair with a beanie, I wear a mask, and now will start using eye protection. Wish I could make myself one of these face shield hats.

What I don't understand is, it seems the part of the mask that "expires" is the elastic straps, because they become brittle over time, I imagine similar to how rubber bands become brittle and breakable.

The fabric part I think is fine as long as it was kept clean.

So why isn't there a major movement to have people sewing new straps or ties onto these older masks?!

These masks are supposed to be disposable, not reusable. And if mask sat somewhere long enough for the straps to become brittle over time, how do you know if fabric part still blocks the same number of particles?

You made me laugh under my protective mask. That is so true! Going out into the outside world requires great thought, planning, and protective gear now.

Mine around here have blue lines or blue x every 6 ft. Maybe call and suggest it? Jmo
