I didn't find out my blood type until I was 24 and pregnant. I had to be notified and given some kind of treatment after birth because it turned out my blood is negative and my now ex-husband is positive. If that weren't the case, I don't know if I'd have found out. But I do know my daughter's, that same baby from when I was 24, who is now 38. I don't remember how I found out.
Maybe when you have a checkup at the doctor and he or she runs a blood test, you can ask for it to be typed?
And of course, as @papillon2126 commented, as a donor you can find out.

We RH negative people are told our infant's blood type in the hospital. I got a rhogam shot too.

My husband has a large family, 7 brothers and 5 sisters, raised in Philly. He told me about his family receiving government food items. Cheese, peanut butter, spam, rice and powered milk when he was growing up.
During my childhood, there was never a jar of peanut butter in our house. When I began grammar school, kids who brought their lunches to school had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and I wanted them. I had to eat sandwiches with meat and cheese. When I asked my parents why we never had peanut butter, I was told they survived on only saltine crackers and peanut butter during the depression and never wanted to see it again.

I missed it. Summarize?

Surgeon General Jerome Adams revealed the inhaler he carries around in case of an asthma attack as he discussed the increased risk of coronavirus in minority communities.

In 1968, Ortho introduced RhoGAM Rho(D). I got a rhogam shot, too, several. Before these shots were developed, babies could die.

"Rhogam shot, also called rho (d) immune globulin, is a sterilized solution, which is comprised of human blood plasma. This shot is given to a mother to prevent the development of antibodies against the rh-positive baby."
All You Need To Know About RhoGam Shot During Pregnancy

"... her immune system would literally attack the fetus's blood cells. This can cause profound anemia, brain damage from a high bilirubin, seizures, jaundice, and in some cases — fetal death."

WHO Director-General's opening remarks at the media briefing on COVID-19 - 10 April 2020
[...]

We are particularly concerned by the large numbers of infections reported among health workers.

In some countries there are reports of more than 10 percent of health workers being infected. This is an alarming trend.

When health workers are at risk, we’re all at risk.

[...]

On Wednesday I mentioned the new United Nations Supply Chain Task Force, to coordinate and scale up the procurement and distribution of personal protective equipment, lab diagnostics and oxygen to the countries that need it most.

This initiative will be coordinated by WHO and the World Food Programme, building on existing collaboration between multiple partners from within and outside the UN.

[...]

We estimate this supply chain may need to cover more than 30% of the world’s needs in the acute phase of the pandemic.

Every month, we will need to ship at least 100 million medical masks and gloves;

up to 25 million N95 respirators, gowns and face-shields;

up to 2.5 million diagnostic tests;

and large quantities of oxygen concentrators and other equipment for clinical care.

To move these supplies around the world, the World Food Programme will deploy eight 747 aircraft, eight medium-sized cargo aircraft, and several smaller passenger planes to move humanitarian workers, technical staff, trainers and other personnel.

[...]

It wasn’t so long ago I posted that ‘soon we’ll hit 1000 deaths’ - but that was the cumulative figure. Now we’re going to be reaching 1000 deaths a day. I read a very depressing piece in the Guardian earlier this week, that at the peak the UK will see more than 2000 fatalities a day. It makes me wonder what those numbers would’ve been like if we’d only locked down earlier.
Sometimes it’s impossible to see any light at the end of the tunnel, isn’t it.

I just don't understand what is going on in the UK. The death rate is just 1% below Italy's death rate. Actually most of Europe is very high.

This post below seems to indicate these tests will be available very soon, in the US within a week or so.

Every country is trying to develop an antibody test, but so far no country has succeeded. Several fake tests have been announced and quickly banned in places like Canada.

I think it's pointless to claim that a test will be available in the future. Putting a "week or so" timeline on when that the test will developed, tested, validated and ready for use leaves a lot of room to move.
