Prominent Virginia pastor who said ‘God is larger than this dreaded virus’ dies of covid-19
(SNIP)
A prominent Richmond-area evangelical pastor died on the eve of Easter after contracting the coronavirus.

Bishop Gerald Glenn, founder and leader since 1995 of the New Deliverance Evangelistic Church in Chesterfield, was the first black chaplain of that community’s police department and was a police officer before becoming a pastor, the Richmond-Times Dispatch reported Sunday.

He was a friend and a pillar of the region’s faith community, U.S.
Sen. Tim Kaine (D-Va.) tweeted Sunday.

“My heart sinks as I learn this morning that Bishop Gerald Glenn, pastor of New Deliverance Evangelistic Church, died yesterday from COVID-19,” Kaine said. “May all do as much for so many.”

Glenn preached in church about the virus in March, before he became sick, encouraging people not to be afraid. On March 22, five days after Virginia Gov. Ralph Northam (D) had urged people to “avoid non-essential gatherings of more than 10 people,” Glenn preached in church to his congregation that “I firmly believe that God is larger than this dreaded virus,” according to a video played April 6 by Richmond station WTVR.

Glenn’s wife, Mother Marcietia Glenn, was also diagnosed with covid-19, according to a YouTube post on Easter by Bryan Nevers, a church elder who also announced Glenn’s death Saturday night. All sermons were removed from the church’s YouTube channel Monday evening.

Like you, kind @Reasonable & Just , I do not at all agree with Pastor Glenn's choices, but he was a good man. Now all this heartbreak has affected his entire family and congregation. I just don't know what else to say.

I love Canada.. and love the phrase!
I love Canada too. Because: North America. Our super continent should be people united as one. Solidarity.❤️ Canada is even larger than the U.S. - combined occupying close to 80% of this continent. At no other time in my lifetime have we as individuals suddenly awoke to the world as one unit. We are recognizing other countries, large and small, no matter how unique or same, are all interconnected. All but cogs in the wheels as we ride through our journey of life. Sisters and Brothers. imo always...

WWE deemed an essential service, returns to live televised shows

[...]

This is being added to the same list that includes services such as grocery stores, hospitals, banks, utility companies and restaurants.

The order that was signed on Thursday states that employees at professional sports and media production with a national audience can continue only if the location is closed to the general public. This essential service was added because it is critical to Florida's economy, officials told CNN.

One third of NHS staff and other key workers tested in UK have coronavirus

[...]

According to the figures released Monday, 16,888 people who fall into the category of “key workers and their households” have been tested. So far, 5,733 – or 34% -- are confirmed to have the virus.

China lifts restrictions after African nations complain of discrimination

[...]

The change of policy comes after several African countries complained about the treatment of their citizens, following reports of alleged coronavirus-related discrimination against African nationals in China and particularly in the city of Guangzhou.

African students and expatriates in the southern Chinese city of Guangzhou were last week subject to forced coronavirus testing and arbitrary 14-day self-quarantine, regardless of recent travel history, amid heightened fears of imported infections.

Large numbers of African nationals were also left homeless, after being evicted by their landlords and rejected by hotels in the city.

Italy cautiously eases some lockdown measures

[...]

Among the stores permitted to reopen are book shops, laundries, stationery shops and clothing stores for babies and children. However, some regions have decided to delay lifting restrictions.

The measures will be in place until May 3, according to the government decree.

The government has also expanded the list of permitted production activities to allow some forestry, landscape care and maintenance and hydraulic works to resume. Computer manufacturers and wholesalers of paper and cardboard products can restart production.

Spain surpasses 18,000 coronavirus deaths, but records Europe’s first fall in active cases

[...]

It is an increase from the 517 reported on Monday, but remains the third-lowest daily rise in the past three weeks. The total number of deaths from coronavirus in Spain stands at 18,056.

However, for the first time since the start of the pandemic, Spain has recorded a fall of 299 active cases in the last 24 hours, bringing the total down to 86,981. The decrease suggests the number of new "recovered" patients and dead are outnumbering the increase in new cases.

England's coronavirus death toll is significantly higher than previously reported

From CNN's Rob Picheta and Simon Cullen

The number of coronavirus-related deaths in England is significantly higher than the British Government has reported in its daily updates, according to new data from the Office of National Statistics (ONS).

The daily updates from the Department of Health and Social Care only include people who have died with coronavirus in hospitals, and not those who have died in nursing homes or other locations. They are also affected by a lag in reporting times.

What an ordeal for that guy. 28 days total in hospital with the virus and 20 days in a coma on a ventilator. Now he is released. But he still has the virus. Can anyone explain how he still has the virus and can infect people?

Also, I notice it says all patients at that hospital in ICU with the virus get hydroxychloroquine and azithyromycin. Plus he was put on anti coagulants. Very interesting. They also mention the blood clots in lungs, toes (mentioned as like chilblains before) and retinas.

Still continuing to follow science articles on research, and this one gives a lot of answers to blood clots, how disease progresses from lungs to other organs. And also speaks to what MSM and many science articles don't address. Is it RNA remnants of the virus that is being detected by PCR for these reports (DEAD/NON-INFECTIOUS) vs. the virus being grown/alive? It's really not that difficult to grow the virus in a virology lab with VERO cells... yet I think many studies are going off PCR which picks up dead viral particles, and MSM keeps picking this up and misleading folks that it's live virus MOO

I received an email from chewy.com yesterday that advised that there might be a slowdown in orders being fulfilled, due to the increased demand and time it takes for the supply chain to get products to them.

So will try to order some cat food and litter when I do food orders for pick up at grocery store, but often they are out, also.
Are you signed up for auto ship with chewy? Those who are get priority and their orders are set aside in their warehouses to make sure those customers get their orders. I can't say impressed I am with chewy.com. I've had auto ship for 2 years now and their service is fantastic.

YES ladies! Campers and boaters have used these for years! Use it to pee into a bottle with a cap. Wipe off self, toss tissue into bag and toss. Use hand sanitizer or soap and water to wash up. No need to locate a bathroom.!

This has me laughing so hard. Us girls who grew up camping since childhood, or boating since childhood, know that we don't need a bottle to pee in. Seriously, if you are camping or boating you need a vehicle to pee in, and then have to dispose of? Nope. MOO. Ummmmmm, use your imagination but no need for such in either of those situations... MOO

... still laughing at the thought such is needed, or validates their product by claiming such.

Yet I do respect that others here think that doing it the way I did growing up/would still do is "a way which is socially unacceptable for men and women to pee, and is needed to collect the pee in a bottle when boating or camping for both genders"

I've used Chewy for several years as well. I had to prove to DH their prices were better than the stores.

My order is three weeks late. Max is OK, because I anticipated slowdowns and stocked up on his food. They have kept me informed by e-mail, and I expect a shipment in 1-3 days. There's a huge Chewy facility here in central FL. I don't know if the slowdown is lack of supplies, or lack of employees.

Yesterday I posted a study about the 2019 measles outbreak in NYC as I thought it was somewhat relevant in how infectious illness travels so quickly. Not in my wildest thoughts did I expect to see this article this morning:

Measles outbreaks may occur as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, officials say, because some vaccination programmes are having to be delayed.

Unicef says 117 million children in 37 countries may not get immunised on time.

There have been several large outbreaks in countries across Europe where MMR vaccine uptake has been low.

The UK has already lost its measles-free status, because of rising cases of the potentially deadly infection.

The disease, which causes coughing, rashes and fever, can be prevented by two doses of the mumps, measles and rubella (MMR) vaccine, available free to all young children in the UK.

Here, 95% of five-year-olds have had the first jab - the World Health Organization (WHO) target - but only 87.4% have had the second.

And as measles is highly infectious, even small declines in uptake can have an impact.

The WHO says countries with no active outbreak of measles can temporarily pause their immunisation campaigns.

And 24 countries have already decided to delay because of the coronavirus pandemic: • Bangladesh • Brazil • Bolivia • Cambodia • Chad • Chile • Colombia • Djibouti • the Dominican Republic • the Democratic Republic of Congo • Ethiopia • Honduras • Kazakhstan • Kyrgyzstan • Lebanon • Maldives • Mexico • Nepal • Nigeria • Paraguay • Somalia • South Sudan • Ukraine • Uzbekistan

"If the difficult choice to pause vaccination is made due to the spread of coronavirus, we urge leaders to intensify efforts to track unvaccinated children so that the most vulnerable populations can be provided with measles vaccines as soon as it becomes possible to do so," it said

Spokeswoman Joanna Rea added: "Disruptions to routine vaccine services will increase the risk of children contracting deadly diseases, compound the current pressures on the national health services and risks a second pandemic of infectious diseases."
Measles resurgence fear amid coronavirus
oh no........ just another reminder of how many surprises, and problems are going to continue to pop up. We might see "leveling off" "lowering cases etc...but my oh my the additional problems that will arise. Boy, am I feeling like a Debbie Downer right now...

CA tells insurers to return some premiums, including auto insurance, due to COVID-19
...
Lara’s bulletin impacts insurance lines with a decreased risk of loss due to the crisis, including private passenger and commercial automobile, workers’ compensation, commercial multi-peril and liability, and medical malpractice, according to a news release from the commissioner’s office.

The order would cover premiums for at least March and April, and could extend through May if statewide stay-at-home restrictions remain in place.
...
Under the bulletin, insurance companies would have to provide a premium credit, reduction, refund or other adjustments as soon as possible, but no later than August.
...

I live in another state and with Nationwise. They just sent me an email saying a $50 credit.

‘Unbelievable’ Timing: As Coronavirus Rages, Trump Disregards Advice to Tighten Clean Air Rules

BBM

"But public health experts say that the move defied scientific research, including the work of the E.P.A.’s own public health experts, which indicates that PM 2.5 pollution contributes to tens of thousands of premature deaths annually, and that even a slight tightening of controls on fine soot could save thousands of American lives.

Just last week, researchers at Harvard released the first nationwide study linking long-term exposure to PM 2.5 and Covid-19 death rates. The study found that a person living for decades in a county with high levels of fine particulate matter is 15 percent more likely to die from the coronavirus than someone in a region with one unit less of the fine particulate pollution."

That's what it is. I've made many different cheeses, soft and hard but American has it's own unique flavor, texture and process. I've never been able to make it. IMO it isn't as healthy for you as other cheeses.

Not even real Cheese. Not even real American (Kraft was Canadian!!)
What Exactly is American Cheese?

Adults Are Actually Buying Human Breast Milk in Hopes It Will Keep Coronavirus Away

"Even before coronavirus, adults were seeking out breast milk because of its known benefits to infants’ immune systems. When exposed to certain viruses, mothers make antibodies that are passed down through their breast milk. Complex sugars called oligosaccharides found in human milk can also help ward off nasty gut bacteria. Some mothers have previously reported selling their milk to people with chronic autoimmune disorders."

This is just so awful. And we know it was pressure from the oil industry, where these pollutants are killing people. Down the road, we will suffer from this bigtime...
Paul Billings, a senior vice president of the American Lung Association, noted that the Harvard study came on top of other reports that linked the pollutant to premature deaths. “This pollution already kills tens of thousands of Americans every year.
