This has been really uplifting! Watching and listening with surround sound and we faced time with Family. Just the best.

That won't work since individual states have not closed all their borders. When Canada has protocols in place for reducing restrictions, then foreigners can visit Canada again. I really don't see that happening anytime soon, and I doubt that any particular country will be given priority.

I was thinking about visits. I was thinking about trade. Whether we states close our borders isn't Canada's issue - but if Canada wants trading partners, it could perhaps work with individual states by agreement. All of the Western states have their own international trade commissions and lots of things that other nations like to buy.

Like potatoes.

Hard choices for families.
Keep doing what we’re doing - maybe the ability to see our parents or grandparents.
Open things up, we spend time with our children/grandchildren as they will venture out with heightened exposure. And give up seeing anyone older than us. JMO

I am not sure that it is irresponsible to open some of the beaches.

I am trying to think rationally about this problem. We cannot stay locked down indefinitely. Even if we did so for months --eventually people would have to go out of their homes. So they will be exposed to the virus at some point.

I think slowly reopening is the best answer. And beaches are a good option. It is open air, room for people to distance themselves, socially.

I say let's give it a try. Sure, some people may be exposed and some will be affected and become ill. But that has to happen at some point anyway. Hopefully only the healthiest and youngest will venture to the beach at this point.

My husband and I won't be going to a public beach yet. But I think my kids and grandkids could give it a try at some point soon. JMO

Yes, it is going to be a difficult shift to open things back up again.
But I do think that there will have to be a good degree of younger, healthier people being slightly exposed to the virus in order for their bodies to develop their own immunities (in the current absence of a vaccine).

I don't know how that is going to happen, but perhaps open-air places like beaches will help do this.

The beaches in my state have never been closed. People are trying to enjoy the outdoors - while responsibly social distancing from others (we have large signs reminding us to do that, and police are patrolling to remind us as well). Fortunately, our smaller population allows that.

The rate of increase of new cases has been less than 1% for 7 consecutive days.

Urban is great! Using split screen so effectively. He's truly talented, we can see how he's been spending his quarantine time.

Bill and Melinda Gates talked on the show about a vaccine...by the end of next year. And they want it to be available to everyone.

Always the best live performers. Charlie was hilarious. Perfect song choice, Mick still has his voice, it was great.

I am sitting watching this with a musician. His comment is that the Stones have played that song so many times that they can do it from 4 different residences and still get it perfect. :) :) :)

Coronavirus Australia live news: US grapples with easing lockdown restrictions as infections continue to rise

Foreign minister Marise Payne is speaking on Insiders, saying the world needs 'transparency' from China.
"I think the key to going forward in the context of these issues is transparency. Transparency from China most certainly. Transparency from all of the key countries across the world who will be part of any review that takes place," Ms Payne said.

"It's fundamental that we identify, we determine an independent review mechanism to examine the development of this epidemic, its development into a pandemic, the crisis that is occurring internationally.

"It is important, though, I think, to bear in mind the point at which we find ourselves. Yes, we are dealing with the challenge here in Australia. Yes, this challenge in Europe is significant, in the United States and what we've already seen in China.

"But there are parts of the world where that wave is yet to be ridden. And I think it's very important to make sure that we're not ignoring that as we determine what the next steps are.

"We need to know the sorts of details that an independent review would identify for us about the genesis of the virus."

Canada closed the borders to prevent spread of virus while keeping supply chain open. If Canada opened the border to one state that is open to all other states, then the border is essentially open.

Canada is closed to all non-Canadians for now. When the borders open, I suspect that they will be open to all countries at the same time.

Is the USA considering opening borders to just some countries?

Right now I'm reading The Outsider, but it doesn't hold a candle to Under the Dome or The Stand.

And @Auntie Cipation I just finished The Institute and it’s great! Of course Pet Cemetery is an oldie but a goodie.

I’ll have to check out Under the Dome, I haven’t read that one yet.
