US Running out of Frozen Pizzas Amid Ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic

Interesting. Did not notice if Walmart had any or not. Was not on the aisle.

Yes, I actually planned for this lol.

I bought ample amounts of pepperoni, ham, canned mushrooms, olives, frozen vegetables, cheese, tomato sauce and tortillas. :)

I can't even give myself a facial (it's been on my to-do list for a week or more) much less clean thoroughly.

Oh come on. Pull it together heeeheee JK!!!!!

My eyebrows are driving me crazy. I find myself fantasizing about that day I can go back the salon and get my eyebrows waxed.

Fauci did not say it was not man made. He basically said some people studied it and concluded that it was "consistent" with not being man made. Fauci never said it was not man made so he never really answered the question. He kind of side stepped it which is interesting.

Basically some scientists are saying it is man made and has HIV parts in it. Others are saying it is not man made so it is too early to say.

Here is the exact source you can see for yourself he never says "no" to the questions is it man made.

There is a growing consensus that it escaped from the lab in China that was studying this virus and even if not man made we know people went into the caves and collected bats and brought to lab to extract and study the virus. Then a researcher was infected, infected his girlfriedn, and she infected the nearby wet market.

China has disappeared/killed many of the lab workers and others researching early on and they destroyed the evidence (the viruses in the lab).

Perhaps Fauci is referencing this study?

I read that article earlier today and I cannot believe the Executives risked people's lives. It is scary. I just want to hibernate.

First time in my life that being an introvert has been good. I love the quiet , don't get bored and I am fine staying home. Now that I have been home for 5 weeks and I cannot stand clutter, my house is staying clean and I am still working 40 hours/wk.
Do you mean that you aren't interested in the newest model of ship with the first onboard roller coaster ever?
"In 2017, Donald invested in building a 180,000-ton megacruiser called the Mardi Gras, Carnival’s largest ship ever, which cost about $1 billion and is supposed to begin sailing in 2020 with the seas’ first onboard roller coaster "

It will be a long time before I use a public bathroom. I'd have to be desperate.
Drove our RV from TX to MN. No choice. We had already cleaned the RV. I am a survivor of public restrooms!!! Yeah!

I watched the presser....he ended the discussion. There isn't anything to talk about.
This paper basically ends the discussion too.

Evidence for natural evolution

The scientists found that the RBD portion of the SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins had evolved to effectively target a molecular feature on the outside of human cells called ACE2, a receptor involved in regulating blood pressure. The SARS-CoV-2 spike protein was so effective at binding the human cells, in fact, that the scientists concluded it was the result of natural selection and not the product of genetic engineering.

This evidence for natural evolution was supported by data on SARS-CoV-2's backbone -- its overall molecular structure. If someone were seeking to engineer a new coronavirus as a pathogen, they would have constructed it from the backbone of a virus known to cause illness. But the scientists found that the SARS-CoV-2 backbone differed substantially from those of already known coronaviruses and mostly resembled related viruses found in bats and pangolins.

"These two features of the virus, the mutations in the RBD portion of the spike protein and its distinct backbone, rules out laboratory manipulation as a potential origin for SARS-CoV-2" said Andersen.

Josie Golding, PhD, epidemics lead at UK-based Wellcome Trust, said the findings by Andersen and his colleagues are "crucially important to bring an evidence-based view to the rumors that have been circulating about the origins of the virus (SARS-CoV-2) causing COVID-19."

"They conclude that the virus is the product of natural evolution," Goulding adds, "ending any speculation about deliberate genetic engineering."

It wasn't engineered but they're still investigating whether it came from the wet markets or escaped from the lab.

HA. No way. A ship that big with that many people would drive me bonkers. Too old for roller coasters these days. I cannot stand to have people in my face. With these large ships that have 3000 passengers, yikes. I would just stay in my room to avoid the crowd.

Are there caves in Wuhan, Hubei I wonder...

Another thing I’ve been wanting to google.

I know there are caves in Yunnan bc that’s where scientists extracted bats for SARS study, iirc.

KALI, you said exactly what has been on my mind, wonderfully and accurately! Thank you for this!

Guys, I hope you are all well! Hugs and stay safe!

From research paper just added here by Tadpole...

"Although our phylogenetic analysis suggests that bats might be the original host of this virus, an animal sold at the seafood market in Wuhan might represent an intermediate host facilitating the emergence of the virus in humans."

JOHANNESBURG (Reuters) - The COVID-19 pandemic will likely kill at least 300,000 Africans and risks pushing 29 million into extreme poverty, the U.N. Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) said on Friday, calling for a $100 billion safety net for the continent.

Africa's 54 countries have so far reported fewer than 20,000 confirmed cases of the disease, just a fraction of the more than two million cases reported globally. But the World Health Organization warned on Thursday that Africa could see as many as 10 million cases in three to six months.

US, Canada have funded Chinese lab eyed as likely source of coronavirus outbreak

Both the United States and Canada have sent money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Chinese lab that multiple sources tell Fox News is suspected of being the likely source of the coronavirus pandemic -- with the Canadian funding coming as recently as last month.

Fox News reported Wednesday that, according to sources, there is increasing confidence the novel coronavirus likely escaped from the Wuhan laboratory, where it was being studied, with a worker spreading it to the larger population.

CORONAVIRUS: WHAT TO KNOW

In a news release from early March, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research announced millions in funding to research and develop tools such as vaccines and tests to combat the coronavirus. One project that got $828,046 from the agency was aimed at developing a rapid coronavirus test "using isothermal amplification and CRISPR technology." Among the organizations on the project was the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

"The collaborative research is conducted by a multi-disciplinary team of virologists, chemists, infectious disease specialists, front-line practitioners, and public health researchers from the University of Alberta, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and Wuhan Institute of Virology (China)," a backgrounder detailing where the Canadian government's grant money was going reads. "Our team members in Wuhan who currently perform the standard diagnostic tests will lead this effort."

From what i have read you really dont get transmission of the virus from
a toilet seat--i hope that is true because i have to pee quite often and nee d to
use public restrooms

I am hoping you are correct as well. Once the states ease restrictions some I will be back to traveling for work, about 800 miles per week. I have to stop occasionally!

So I have a question for those that can explain infection and numbers and such. This is an honest question. This all started in the US back when with infected people, just a handful spreading it here and there. 1 person can infect x numbers of people. Now we are social distancing so I can see why it slows the spread. 1 person infects less people or none. But if there are even a 'few' infected people out there, what is to prevent this from going right back to the beginning? Like it started in the beginning? I am referring to the second wave. How does one even think that it won't happen? I guess I don't understand at all how this goes away.

Are enough people immune to offer protection? What is to prevent the stragglers to reigniting this. Seems one spark is all it takes given its contagiousness.

I am so READY to come out of my house. I need to grocery shop, see my new grand baby and elder parents. How will this work?

Don’t buy China’s story: The coronavirus may have leaked from a lab

And then there is this little-known fact: Some Chinese researchers are in the habit of selling their laboratory animals to street vendors after they have finished experimenting on them.

You heard me right.

Instead of properly disposing of infected animals by cremation, as the law requires, they sell them on the side to make a little extra cash. Or, in some cases, a lot of extra cash. One Beijing researcher, now in jail, made a million dollars selling his monkeys and rats on the live animal market, where they eventually wound up in someone’s stomach.

Wuhan Tests Show Coronavirus ‘Herd Immunity’ Is a Long Way Off

Serology testing from Wuhan indicates only 2-3% have antibody among 8,600 hospital workers and visitors, with much more testing in the works Wuhan Tests Show Coronavirus ‘Herd Immunity’ Is a Long Way Off

Wuhan Tests Show Coronavirus ‘Herd Immunity’ Is a Long Way Off

Scott Gottlieb
In Wuhan scientists conducted antibody tests on 3,600 hospital employees, 5,000 visitors; shows about 2.5% positivity for exposure - surprisingly low.
Accumulating evidence shows overall U.S. exposures likely to be lower than once presumed, 2-5% nationally, more in hot spots.
