Do you mean that you aren't interested in the newest model of ship with the first onboard roller coaster ever?
"In 2017, Donald invested in building a 180,000-ton megacruiser called the Mardi Gras, Carnival’s largest ship ever, which cost about $1 billion and is supposed to begin sailing in 2020 with the seas’ first onboard roller coaster "

Carnival Executives Knew They Had a Virus Problem, But Kept the Party Going

Putting that on my list for when we get out of lockdown. Not.

ETA:
Maybe we can plan a WS Cruise. Not.

ETA2:
That actually might have been a lot of fun, in an alternate reality, a WS Cruise....

There wasn't one "fun" activity they mentioned in the article that sounded amusing or interesting. Except the buffet, lol.

Buffets don't work for me - again too many people milling around.

US, Canada have funded Chinese lab eyed as likely source of coronavirus outbreak

Both the United States and Canada have sent money to the Wuhan Institute of Virology, the Chinese lab that multiple sources tell Fox News is suspected of being the likely source of the coronavirus pandemic -- with the Canadian funding coming as recently as last month.

Fox News reported Wednesday that, according to sources, there is increasing confidence the novel coronavirus likely escaped from the Wuhan laboratory, where it was being studied, with a worker spreading it to the larger population.

CORONAVIRUS: WHAT TO KNOW

In a news release from early March, the Canadian Institutes of Health Research announced millions in funding to research and develop tools such as vaccines and tests to combat the coronavirus. One project that got $828,046 from the agency was aimed at developing a rapid coronavirus test "using isothermal amplification and CRISPR technology." Among the organizations on the project was the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

"The collaborative research is conducted by a multi-disciplinary team of virologists, chemists, infectious disease specialists, front-line practitioners, and public health researchers from the University of Alberta, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, and Wuhan Institute of Virology (China)," a backgrounder detailing where the Canadian government's grant money was going reads. "Our team members in Wuhan who currently perform the standard diagnostic tests will lead this effort."

I read that article earlier today and I cannot believe the Executives risked people's lives. It is scary. I just want to hibernate.

First time in my life that being an introvert has been good. I love the quiet , don't get bored and I am fine staying home. Now that I have been home for 5 weeks and I cannot stand clutter, my house is staying clean and I am still working 40 hours/wk.
Yep, they put profits over peoples lives...passengers on the ships and all the places they tried to dock the infected ships at.

Lawmakers Call for Action Against China's Communist Regime for Concealing Danger of Coronavirus Crisis

The new numbers add to growing global doubts over China's transparency. Leaders in France and Britain joined President Trump's broadsides against China, as two US media outlets reported suspicions the virus accidentally slipped out of a sensitive Wuhan laboratory that studied bats. French President Emmanuel Macron told the Financial Times it would be "naive" to think China had handled the pandemic well, saying, "There are clearly things that have happened that we don't know about."

I wonder if buffets will become like the dinosaurs...

That reminds me of this satirical article I read about restaurants last night. Looking for link, will add if I find it.

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on What the ‘New Normal’ Could Look Like

He talked about his plan for lifting the current stay-at-home order, and what a “new normal” would look like in the near future. He also discussed his commitment to being as transparent as possible with citizens, and how seeing the great sense of community in the U.S. gives him great hope for working through the pandemic and beyond.

Instead of Crime Con, it could be called “Crime Cruise”. :D

“Murder on the Diamond Princess”
(Has a nice ring to it, like “Murder on the Orient Express”...)

In the book, someone saw the perp, but they can’t identify him because he was wearing a hazmat suit...

When it comes to protecting ourselves from the spread of CV19, there's only three things we have to do: test, test, test.

We definitely need ventilators and PPE's and social distancing, but the lynch pin on smothering this virus is testing.

That means every single person needs to be tested. Not just people who exhibit symptoms or have been identified as being in close contact with someone who has tested positive, but everyone.

I don't think it matters anymore, where the virus originated; focusing on that fact is counterproductive. Because politics doesn't halt the spread, logic does.

It seems to me, based on a lot of anecdotal evidence, is that more people who are asymptomatic are spreading the virus more than people who exhibit obvious signs of a upper respiratory illness.

I had a friend who owned a hotel in Amsterdam. It was probably built in the mid 1700s. It was located on a picturesque street on a canal. The street was narrow and every now and then someone, usually a tourist, ended up in the canal when trying to park in such economic spaces. The car was fished out of the canal and the driver got a tetanus shot. That was it. But when you think about it, it was proactive. Not wondering IF the unfortunate tourist swallowed a mouthful of bacteria-laden water, the logic was that they had. So they got the shot.

We don't know if an individual who has successfully beat CV19 has antibodies. The only way to find that out is to test them. We don't know if someone is asymptomatic. The only way to find that out is to test them. We don't know if someone who tested negative for CV19 can end up positive again. The only way to find that out is to test them.

It is critical that testing and testing supplies are provided to every single city and urban area, starting with those who have experienced the worst outbreaks. It has to be proportionally applied. That's not only logical, it's morally right.
