Fauci did not say it was not man made. He basically said some people studied it and concluded that it was "consistent" with not being man made. Fauci never said it was not man made so he never really answered the question. He kind of side stepped it which is interesting.

Basically some scientists are saying it is man made and has HIV parts in it. Others are saying it is not man made so it is too early to say.

Here is the exact source you can see for yourself he never says "no" to the questions is it man made.

There is a growing consensus that it escaped from the lab in China that was studying this virus and even if not man made we know people went into the caves and collected bats and brought to lab to extract and study the virus. Then a researcher was infected, infected his girlfriedn, and she infected the nearby wet market.

China has disappeared/killed many of the lab workers and others researching early on and they destroyed the evidence (the viruses in the lab).

That's so helpful to accidentally let a virus loose and then wipe out any evidence that might help stop the thing in its tracks. Jmo

From research paper just added here by Tadpole...

"Although our phylogenetic analysis suggests that bats might be the original host of this virus, an animal sold at the seafood market in Wuhan might represent an intermediate host facilitating the emergence of the virus in humans."

Genomic characterisation and epidemiology of 2019 novel coronavirus: implications for virus origins and receptor binding. - PubMed - NCBI
I see the word "might" twice in that one sentence.

That doesn't seem to be very conclusive to me.

Buffets don't work for me - again too many people milling around.
I'm not sure I will ever muster the courage again....buffets or cruises....I will miss them...

  • #605
imagine if we had a WS cruise and a murder occurred on board!
too funny. I read all of Christie even through "Curtain". That would be fun to figure out who done it.....

MR. CARN....THERE IS A PROBLEM GOING ON IN A LOT OF FACILITIES ACROSS THE COUNTRY...
-----------------------------

ATLANTA —
Holding pictures of their late loved ones, family members and several lawmakers rallied near the Arbor Terrace at Cascade on Friday.

The facility confirmed that 15 residents have now died of the coronavirus at the assisted living facility in southwest Atlanta.

“I’m not a health expert but obviously there’s a problem going on in the facility,” said Fulton County District 6 Commissioner Joe Carn.

The facility also told us that of the 37 residents still living at Arbor Terrace, 28 have tested positive for COVID-19. That’s more than 75%.

75% of patients at SW Atlanta nursing home have coronavirus; 15 have died

The 2020 disclaimer at the top of this article is disturbing and shows how powerful China is. The 2017 article itself tells the story without political influence.

They seem to have been taking the virus from bats and transferring it to other animals even monkeys to try to make it be able to jump to humans. While at the same time most likely selling infected animals to be eaten. Lab workers are very underpaid and are tempted to supplement their income by selling animals meant for incineration after an experiment. I would consider that man made because humans made it happen even if not synthetic. Any study claiming the virus is not synthetic does not in any way rule out this scenario.

Inside the Chinese lab poised to study world's most dangerous pathogens [Nature - Feb 2017]
Lina says that China’s size justifies this scale, and that the opportunity to combine BSL-4 research with an abundance of research monkeys — Chinese researchers face less red tape than those in the West when it comes to research on primates — could be powerful. “If you want to test vaccines or antivirals, you need a non-human primate model,” says Lina.

But Ebright is not convinced of the need for more than one BSL-4 lab in mainland China. He suspects that the expansion there is a reaction to the networks in the United States and Europe, which he says are also unwarranted. He adds that governments will assume that such excess capacity is for the potential development of bioweapons.

“These facilities are inherently dual use,” he says. The prospect of ramping up opportunities to inject monkeys with pathogens also worries, rather than excites, him: “They can run, they can scratch, they can bite.”

Montana Gov. Steve Bullock said there is no way his state could meet the standards set to reopen.

"Even the gating criteria (of two straight weeks with new cases slowing down) that the President put out yesterday — we haven't met those criteria,” Bullock said at a news conference Friday.

During the news conference, Bullock focused on the phased-in plan released by the President’s task force.

“The President told us that we governors will call the shots in our own states,” Bullock said. “First I want to say thank you, Mr. President, for recognizing that every state is different.”

Montana’s statewide stay-at-home order is in effect until April 24.

“After April 24, we will move forward with a phased reopening,” he said.

Last comment on the cruise because I don’t want to go too “overboard”, but IF we ever had a WS Cruise we would need a whole day and conference devoted to “Who is BG”

That’s all I want to say about that.

Don’t think I’ve forgotten about that...just because we are in a pandemic...

ETA:
Additionally, these CV threads will be the only ones which may actually pass the number of Abby and Libby threads.

Now if they could only run the DNA of every male they test for CV

Alright back on track.

“I went to Albertson’s twice a day,” Wittenbrink told the paper. “I went to Sam’s. I went to Walmart. I went to Lowe’s. I used the gas pumps. I mean I just wasn’t careful. God knows where I got it. The bad thing is I might have spread to somebody. I feel bad about that.”

WTH is wrong with this man.

Albertson’s twice a day?

So he didn’t care if he got it or not - and deliberately going against stay at home regarding the virus and SPREADING it. That should be against the law. JMO

Yet he went to the hospital when he was sick.....and got a test.

You might have spread it? Geez

Personally, I am thinking most of the stories and timeline provided by China are complete BS.. and due to the odd mix of meds that seem to help, this "novel" virus was certainly man made. An HIV drug, a Flu antibiotic, a Malaria med, steroids, etc.; A hodge podge of different epidemic proportion conditions combined. * oh- and I forgot- there has to be some type of norovirus or e-coli in there as well.

Is anyone really cured? or is it simply a fight with one aspect/segment of it- it goes into hiding, building the next cascade of another segment of this virus that appears after it has grown big enough?

Seems like a few test tubes of various diseases mixed in a lab: Bioterrorism is terrorism involving the intentional release or dissemination of biological agents. These agents are bacteria, viruses, insects, fungi, or toxins, and may be in a naturally occurring or a human-modified form'

Instead of Crime Con, it could be called “Crime Cruise”. :D

“Murder on the Diamond Princess”
(Has a nice ring to it, like “Murder on the Orient Express”...)

In the book, someone saw the perp, but they can’t identify him because he was wearing a hazmat suit...

LOL!

California Gov. Gavin Newsom on What the ‘New Normal’ Could Look Like

He talked about his plan for lifting the current stay-at-home order, and what a “new normal” would look like in the near future. He also discussed his commitment to being as transparent as possible with citizens, and how seeing the great sense of community in the U.S. gives him great hope for working through the pandemic and beyond.

Happy to see you back Henry!

I'd prefer the old normal...but thanks Gov. Newsom.

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards said the state is not ready for a Phase 1 reopening and that there is still "work to do."

Edwards, speaking at a news conference Friday, said the state has not reached the threshold that must be passed to get to the Phase 1 reopening — including not having 14 days where the number of cases, tests and deaths are moving in the right direction.

Speaking from Louisiana State University where he toured a personal protective equipment production center, Edwards said he hopes the state can get to Phase 1 within the next few weeks.

"I can't tell you that we will get to Phase 1 by May 1st, but I hope we do," he said.

"We aren’t going to be successful in opening the economy if we see a spike in cases and can’t deliver healthcare,” he added .

I have to wonder how awful this experience is for people who suffer from mental illness. For example, ocd having anything to do with germ/handwashing and similar I would think could become totally intolerable in this environment. As well as hypochondria or similar anxiety disorder.

This started in November. It's now April. After 5 months, China should be close to discovering the origin and figuring out the paperwork.
Perhaps China already knows the origin and is not sharing that information.

I'm sorry but I don't believe you can find any juried scientific publication with those "facts" about HIV in it. But there are tons of articles saying that HIV has nothing to do with CoVid. It is not man-made.

Humans let it get transmitted though.
