I wonder why that says New York has 100% contact traced when elsewhere it says they haven't. Jmo

Perhaps they contact 100% of people who test positive, but if most of those people won't give contacts, the trail will peter out pretty quickly.

UK is still contributing to WHO so will be one of the 127 countries getting the Indian manufactured product. USA no longer belong to WHO so will be on their own now. MOO

Is that a fact, or your opinion? I'm asking because I'm not sure that the US' political decision not to pay their fees has a lot to do with this. The WHO is THE world wide health organisation, and a country like the US just can't simply turn their back on it, even if they don't contribute financially. I believe it's much more integrated into US public health, and not so exposed to the whims of an officious president. Especially during a pandemic, the world has to work as an integrated unit through the communal gathering of information, co-operative research, universal protocols, etc. Rich or poor, no country gets to gather their marbles and go home.

jmo .. but I'm going to see if I can find out more facts.

Florida shatters records with over 10,000 new COVID-19 cases in single day

(Reuters) - Florida shattered records on Thursday when it reported over 10,000 new coronavirus cases, the biggest one-day increase in the state since the pandemic started, according to a Reuters tally.

Outbreaks in Texas, California, Florida and Arizona have helped the United States break records and send cases rising at rates not seen since April.

In June, Florida infections rose by 168% or over 95,000 new cases. The percent of tests coming back positive has skyrocketed to 15% from 4% at the end of May.

Florida, with 21 million residents, has reported more new daily coronavirus cases than any European country had at the height of their outbreaks.

Party Guests Won’t Talk After 9 Test Positive. Now They Face Subpoenas.

On June 17, a crowd of up to 100 people, most of them in their early 20s, attended a party at a home in Rockland County, N.Y.

The event violated a state order in effect at the time that capped gatherings at 10 people in an effort to slow the coronavirus’s spread.

For local officials, that was just the start of the problem.

The party’s host, who was showing signs of being sick at the time, later tested positive for the virus. So did eight guests.

County officials, eager to keep the cluster from growing, dispatched disease tracers to try to learn who else might have been exposed to the virus at the party.

The tracers hit a wall.

“My staff has been told that a person does not wish to, or have to, speak to my disease investigators,” Dr. Patricia Schnabel Ruppert, the county’s health commissioner said. Of those being contacted about the party, she added: “They hang up. They deny being at the party even though we have their names from another party attendee.”

Frustrated by the response, county officials took the unusual step of issuing subpoenas to eight people who they believe were at the June 17 party. Those who do not comply and share what they know by Thursday will face fines of $2,000 a day, officials said.

wow. This really hit me as geeeezz, how far do we have to go in this country... Thanks for posting.

That site is just comparing the number of contact tracers to the number of new infections. In theory New York has enough tracers to handle all the new infection cases. In practice that job is complicated by the paranoia and distrust in our society.

Maybe it's showing that NY has the capability to contract trace 100% of its cases. How far down the line that info takes them is another story.

WHO mentioned the 127 countries and the India info which I posted in the last thread. He didn't name which 127 countries so it is my opinion that UK is included and US isn't based on two other MSM articles posted, 1 saying US had bought up all Gilead's Remdesivir and a second link saying UK was OK for Remdesivir. So opinion based on three separate articles that have been posted. HTH.

Please post anything else you may find though.

You are right, Tresir....these are good graphs and charts. You have such a good handle on finding data.........do you have a good source for finding how many tests are being done in each state. Either total numbers, or %/🤬🤬🤬.

I am wondering, because I am also trying to track where there are bad tests. Some of my relatives in New England have been telling me that they are getting lots of corrupted tests...not sure of where they are coming from though....

Sorry I have to go out for a bit. I just Google generally and then find it. I'll have a trawl later on.

You can look up how well each state is doing in contact tracing on this site.
America’s COVID warning system

THIS IS FABULOUS..... This is one of the best sites I have seen on tabulating different statistics....

It is easy to see why and how New York has done so well with this--9400 tracers, wow, just wow. Gotta give them credit....for they had to do all this with the explosive first days of all of this.

Crap, I hate to see this waste of resources just because people are beligerent. Money that needs to be spent on policing, could better be used within the health care system.

Thanks for sharing. Is your locality committed to testing, tracing and mask?

Nope. And the most infuriating issue to me, is that when Covid-19 positive cases are reported, it does state, "infected by person related to travel from another state".

That is why the United States is such a Covid disaster. We place "freedom" above health. People who are not following quarantine guidelines, who infect others, should be cited, and ticketed or something. Some sort of "real" consequences.

Not just, "hmm, oh well, whatever".

And Australia was able to control their spread by not allowing ANY travel from infected areas. Wow, what a novel concept!

Meanwhile, the "goal" here is to just infect or kill off every one as soon as possible.

Yikes. Even if they shut the state down completely right now, the numbers will continue to rise for the next three weeks.

"Only one other state has reported more than 10,000 new cases in a single day. New York recorded 12,847 new infections on April 10, three weeks after the state implemented a strict lockdown that closed most businesses. While the state has relaxed many measures, it requires masks in public ..."

Seminole Mask Order Protesters in Sanford: "My Body, My Choice"

SANFORD, Fla. — On the first day of Seminole County’s new ordinance that mandates people wear masks in public, the measure faced pushback.

A group of people marched down 1st Street in Sanford Wednesday night, chanting “my body, my choice as they protested the new ordinance.

“Just because the government says to do something doesn’t mean it’s constitutional, or it’s the right thing to do,” said Anthony Dipalma.

Dipalma says whether the masks are effective or not, he says people should have the right to choose whether they wear them or not.

Alabama students throwing 'COVID parties' to see who gets infected: Officials

“Students in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, who have been diagnosed with COVID-19 have been attending parties in the city and surrounding area as part of a disturbing contest to see who can catch the virus first, a city council member told ABC News on Wednesday.”

He posted his regrets over attending a party in California. The next day, he died of coronavirus — CNN

“A friend who was at the party reached out to Macias to say he had coronavirus, and he was aware of the diagnosis when he attended the gathering but didn't think he could infect anyone because he had no symptoms, Lopez said. “

“Our understanding is that a gentleman had called him and said 'hey I was at the party, I knew I was positive. I didn't tell anybody,'" Lopez said. "I think the gentleman was regretting not telling everybody, and he was calling people who were at the party to recommend they get tested.”

Knowing that you tested positive and infect your friends, killing one.
:(

Also a grim reminder that a person can feel fine one day and be dead the next. This man had a major underlying condition (diabetes), and was 51 years old. Appears to be overweight/mildly obese as well.

The story about the Alabama kids? Just ::smh:: Tuscaloosa has seen such a jump in number of cases, one has to wonder about a lot of asymptomatic students being spreaders. It doesn't say whether high school or college.

I remember the outrage when TX required folks to fill out tracking paperwork entering the state. Also, the NC Outer Banks and other coastal towns "closed road access" to out of towners. Didn't Flordia at one time ban certain state citizens?

Now our focus is freedom and our right to exercise it.

Moo...
