I am sure that she will challenge the fine if she wants to. Or she will suck it up and get the owner of the agistment, or another more local horsey person, to care for her horse - as she should have done in the first place.
She was certainly given enough time to put something in place, they were all given the heads up that the city was going to go into lockdown.

UK rules do not apply here.
I don't think I said they did but was giving them for comparison. Your MSM is saying it is questionable and I am providing reasons why they could be saying that. I am entitled to my opinion on the matter.

I mentioned this in April!!

Could the Tuberculosis vaccine potentially be relevant? In the UK everyone currently aged approx 27-77 had the TB jab at age 12 (until 2005, and it's still given to babies in London). Not sure how that pans out with other countries and nationalities but it would be interesting to see how the stats stack up for those vaccinated and those not.

BCG DOES protect against Covid-19, study confirms | Daily Mail Online

Doesn't seem to have worked too well in the UK, mind you (unless nearly everyone who died was over 77)
I think a lot were over 70. I had the BCG and I'm still here at 66. Did you and HKP get it?

We're about to get another lecture. I wonder if he'll mention that SC is now 3rd in the world for rising cases? He has done nothing about it thus far, so it'll be interesting to see what he says.

Gov. McMaster to hold news briefing Friday morning on COVID-19

COLUMBIA, S.C. (WCSC) - South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster has called a news conference for Friday morning to discuss the Palmetto State’s ongoing response to the coronavirus pandemic.

That news conference is set for 11 a.m. from the Statehouse in Columbia.

McMaster is expected to be joined by state public health officials to discuss the pandemic.

I was surprised to see that the Myrtle Beach spring bike rally is going ahead next week. They come from all over the place for that.

“A lot of people are still really scared about the pandemic and they’re worried about coming,” Vaught said. “I think you’ll see [people] coming anyway.”
Local bars and restaurants supporting the Spring Bike Rally in Murrells Inlet said they’re anticipating lots of bikers in the coming days to pour into the Grand Strand.

South Dakota plans speedy coronavirus testing for Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

South Dakota health officials say they will send 20 COVID-19 testing machines capable of producing tests in minutes to help carry out the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rapid City Journal reports that the city council decided to cautiously proceed with the 10-day rally after realizing motorcycle enthusiasts were going to show up regardless.

For the rally, eight to 10 of the ID Now devices will be given to Spearfish, Rapid City and Sturgis. Spearfish, Rapid City and Hot Springs each have one device already.

The Rapid City City Council supported an initiative this week to make available 1,300 COVID-19 tests for Sturgis residents after the city’s 80th annual rally, scheduled for Aug. 7 - 16.

A total of 1,084 test results were reported on Thursday in South Dakota and the positive rate was 8.7%.

It's like the state has a death wish.
It's actually smart business. We get to keep all the money while they leave the state to become statistics in their own states.

NH Restaurant Closes Ahead of Trump Rally Over Coronavirus Concerns

The Country View Restaurant in Greenland announced Wednesday in an email and on its website that after many discussions with employees, they decided to temporarily close Thursday with plans to reopen July 16.

"Saturday's rally event at Pease is just a few short miles [from] our establishment and is expected to attract a lot of out of state people from all across the country to the area so we are taking the necessary precautions to keep our employees and valued local customers safe," read a statement from the restaurant.

Oh yeah! Great marketing idea!

Except ... oops ... it ends up costing you more than they left behind, and then the costs snowball out of control.

It's all fun and games until somebody dies.

SC gov press conference:

SC bans sales of alcohol in bars and restaurants after 11 pm nightly. Liquor permits will be suspended for violations.

Chewing out young people. "Behave like mature adults."

Wear your mask. <not mandatory>

Half of all cases have been reported in the last two weeks.

Basically just another lecture and another warning there will be consequences, and we mean it this time!!! Rinse and repeat. No action to stop the spread.

Victoria, and arguably Australia, is standing on the edge of a COVID-19 precipice

Even as Melbourne and surrounds return to lockdown, Victoria on Friday reported 288 new cases of COVID-19.

We've seen outbreaks in hospitals and aged care homes, cases spilling across borders into New South Wales and the ACT, and breakdowns in screening procedures even as state borders slam shut — again.

The reason this is worrying is that unlike in the early days of the pandemic, this time the new cases aren't imported.

These are people who have caught COVID-19 here in Australia — and in some cases we don't know where it came from. It's not just possible, but probable, that there's more coronavirus spreading undetected.

We've had success with containing the virus so far, but at the moment at best Victoria, and arguably Australia, is at edge of a precipice.

At worst, we've already fallen into it.

SC gov: We will NOT shut down businesses. We WILL open schools. People MUST go back to work.

Oh, and this gem: Mandating masks is "impractical".

And this one: Children do not get sick and do not spread coronavirus.

I did, mid 1980s, the whole year group had it I think? Left the usual arm dimple! I was surprised to see my toddler niece with the dimple but apparently babies have the BCG in London.

Next week, I have to fly one way to Atlanta, then drive back. It's business that has to be dealt with before school starts up again, and I may as well go now, since the pandemic numbers are not getting any better. My N95s haven't come yet, though I am not above triple masking with my cloth ones. I'm more worried about the drive than the disease, but I would never want to be a vector and spread it to anyone. When I come back, we have a 14-day quarantine plan for me at home, and I'll get a test.

Anyway, I am thinking about those TSA screeners, flight attendants & pilots, baggage handlers, shuttle & taxi drivers, food service workers, and those hotel & airport cleaners who all risk their health to make it possible for us to conduct business. Plus the USPS workers bringing me my masks, and the LEOs patrolling the highways.

I'm going to borrow a line from @Bravo, and say - Be safe, and be kind to each other, and keep a thought for the working people who don't get to isolate. Love to all.
I have a few extra N95s if you would like I'll fedex you. I would get protective eyeware or a face shield as well.

I'm seriously wondering about the emphasis on STEM education in the US, will they continue? Apparently few of our leaders have experience in this area.
