I did, mid 1980s, the whole year group had it I think? Left the usual arm dimple! I was surprised to see my toddler niece with the dimple but apparently babies have the BCG in London.
Yes I had that jab. Much excitement at school.
Obviously Cags had a northern one and I had a southern one, but no divide in terms of the dimple :D

South Dakota plans speedy coronavirus testing for Sturgis Motorcycle Rally

South Dakota health officials say they will send 20 COVID-19 testing machines capable of producing tests in minutes to help carry out the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The Rapid City Journal reports that the city council decided to cautiously proceed with the 10-day rally after realizing motorcycle enthusiasts were going to show up regardless.

For the rally, eight to 10 of the ID Now devices will be given to Spearfish, Rapid City and Sturgis. Spearfish, Rapid City and Hot Springs each have one device already.

The Rapid City City Council supported an initiative this week to make available 1,300 COVID-19 tests for Sturgis residents after the city’s 80th annual rally, scheduled for Aug. 7 - 16.

A total of 1,084 test results were reported on Thursday in South Dakota and the positive rate was 8.7%.
I'd be pretty ticked off if I lived there. Why are they allowing people who don't even live there to come in, dump the virus all over town, then leave when their fun is done?

How about charging $5000 per person, to cover clean-up, disinfection, testing and funeral costs?

Very large increase in Virginia today. I wonder what's going on there?

SC gov: We will NOT shut down businesses. We WILL open schools. People MUST go back to work.

Oh, and this gem: Mandating masks is "impractical".

And this one: Children do not get sick and do not spread coronavirus.
OMG. Children get it and children spread it. True, most don't get severe symptoms, but we don't even know what long term consequences of this disease can be. They found lung issues on asymptomatic patients. Some patients have neurological issues. Some children go on to develop kawasaki like disease. Could be even more consequences down the road, we just don't know it yet.

This makes no sense to me.

NYC Black Lives Matter marches can continue despite large-event ban, de Blasio says

Mayor Bill de Blasio is permitting Black Lives Matter protesters to continue marching through city streets while canceling all large events through September.

“This is a historic moment of change. We have to respect that but also say to people the kinds of gatherings we’re used to, the parades, the fairs — we just can’t have that while we’re focusing on health right now,” de Blasio told host Wolf Blitzer.

Me neither. Especially as there has been cases reported from some wearing masks.

The mayor gave an exception to the Black Lives Matters protests that have become a mainstay on New York City streets over the past six weeks, insisting the 'historic' demonstrations must be respected.

The mayor explained that the exception was made for Black Lives Matter protests because the demonstrators' calls for social justice and racial equality were too important to silence.

'If you're just talking about health, we would always say: "Hey folks you know stay home if you can", but we understand this moment in history people are talking about the need for historic changes.'

De Blasio also noted that more than a month of protests has not caused a spike in COVID-19 cases, despite previous fears that it would.

Ribavirin, Remdesivir, Sofosbuvir, Galidesivir, and Tenofovir against SARS-CoV-2 RNA dependent RNA polymerase (RdRp): A molecular docking study

I think this has been known about since March. This is a study on the .Gov website.

Strange that Fauci would not know this.

Thanks for posting this. China, Japan and South Korea have a number of antivirals on the market due to high prevalence of Hep B and Hep C. I have been wondering if they were testing these antivirals that are currently on the market and safe, to see if they can inhibit RNA replication in COVID-19. Sounds promising. But, of course, these drugs have to be taken long term, usually for life (for hep B), but until a vaccine or other, they might prove to be useful.

Who knows? We haven't heard from Governor Northam on Covid since the last of May. He had 4 presser in June all about protests and civil rights. He did a ceremonial bill signing yesterday.

Northern Virginia numbers have declined while rural, western counties and the chicken plants blaze with increases, My little small town has more cases than the City of Richmond. Long term care, manufacturing and call center outbreaks, and most don't wear a masks. STILL NO community testing, our 2 regional HDs didn't apply for the free community testing, affecting 12 rural counties with large outbreaks. The the Regional Director refuses to speak with the press and NO ONE in Richmond returns phone calls.

MOO....I think Northam has moved on to other interests, especially since NVA is operating independent of the state.

All my opinion only....

How are people like this sleeping at night
:(:(
I just don’t get it. I really don’t
Tourists will not come here if the bars and beaches are closed and they have to wear masks. Similar to the mayor in the movie "Jaws" who refused to lose tourist dollars.

That's not New York, and it's a story from June 23rd for another State. Bogus headline? And, no doubt, the protesters in SC weren't masked.

and the story states (bbm):

Experts have debated whether protests can add to the spread of the virus, with a study published in the National Bureau of Economic Research finding they had little effect on the recent spike in cases -- even though many were seen gathering in close proximity, with some yelling and shouting. The study did add that it was possible the protests caused an increase in the spread of COVID-19 among those who attended.

I'll take deBlasio's word over Fox News.
